They have a great variety of kielbasa, cheeses, and European sweets. I especially love their prepared foods - my favorites are the kotletu, crepes with meat, and their fresh salad selection. They also have caviar and freshly made crepes right there, which is so convenient.The service is always nice and friendly. I am very happy to have a great European store in the area.

Today I went, Lunar New Year, (I know, last minute), and I was still able to buy the rice cakes I needed for new year's soup. I was looking for chives in the produce area and didn't see any so I kept going. Someone working there noticed I had been looking for something and asked I about it. I told him I was looking for chives and he told me he thought they had some in the back and offered to go check for me, asking me how much I wanted, and then he brought me a nicely packaged amount. It has all the basic ingredients to make a real ceviche, and many other ingredients to make Peruvian dishes like "papa a la huancaina", "carapulcra", "olluquito", "tallarin verde" among others. It is an ethnic store so you will find a very well rounded assortment of spices, ingredients and foods from Peru. La Tiendita also has a very large selection of medicinal herbs and a large selection of "ready-to-make" dinner pouches. Add to that Peruvian drinks such as "chicha", "kola inglesa" and other natural juices to make this grocery a gem. Unfortunately there is no fresh made desserts but they do have "cua-cua" and "doña pepa", as well as other types of cookies and snacks. Overall it is a very well assorted shop, I did purchase many products and they were all fresh, none expired, which I find is an issue at ethnic stores in general. Also, the lady at the register was knowledgeable of the products and able to help me find what I was looking for. The store was a little disorganized hence the rating, but other than that, La Tiendita carries a great selection. And is the only Peruvian grocery in the area.
