This local donut shop is a gem here in Dana Point. It is a great alternative to Starbucks and they have more variety for food options. I work next door and I'd rather support a local business than a huge chain, and everything about Primi is fabulous from customer service to the quality of their products. The employees always offer us free donuts to try and even give us boxes of free donuts at the end of the day if they have leftovers. Very kind staff!! Support local businesses!!!

Honestly, it was not as good as what I would get at a grocery store. It was just so dry and not even worth the calories. The employees who work here seem nice and the location is great. I have always wondered about this place and now I don't have to wonder. I will not go back!

My husband and I stopped by today for a boba drink but the cashier let us know they had run out of boba, totally ok! We asked what drinks were available and I opted for a peach jelly drink that she mentioned and my husband got the matcha. My peach drink was SO GOOD that I ended up being happy they were out of boba LOL my husband really enjoyed his matcha too! The girl working was very sweet and was very happy to make our drinks, she made us feel welcomed and we are excited to come back :) read more

Ordered a ham and cheese croissant. Very disappointed. It was burnt. Had very little cheese and a tiny piece of ham. I paid 6.50 for a cardboard tasting ham and cheese. By far the worst I've ever had. Poor quality and too high pricing. Will not be returning. read more

This is the worst donut shop ever! They don't open till 7am. Don't make ham croissants during the week day and on the weekends they sell out of them by 9:30. Asked for chocolate milk, they said they were out but I could find some at Gelsons across the parking lot! They don't know the difference between a bear claw and an apple fritter! I stumbled upon this place on yelp and wanted to try out. I saw the photos on yelp that they had a banh mi charcuterie board and even spring rolls on their menu. Im not sure if it was just a limited time thing but when I visited the shop they didn't seem to know what I was talking about and I showed the photos on yelp and they didnt seem like they knew anything about it? Upon entering the store, I noticed the small window displaying the different donuts and I made my way around and saw the other glass display was just boxes. Had me wondering if something changed or owners changed? Or maybe it was just a limited item. I was really curious about the banh bi board and the spring rolls, not too much into donuts like that. I was a little disappointed not going to lie, but oh well what can you do. But we did pick up a glazed twist just bc we were already there and didnt want to leave empty handed. The donuts were okay, good for a quick pick me up. There are limited seating, maybe like 2 or 3 seats outside available for you to sit and enjoy a coffee and a donut. read more

We absolutely love this gem. We had them cater for our baby shower and they were so friendly and helpful over the phone and ensured everything was correct. The guests loved taking these treats home in a goodie bag and they were all gone by the end of the party. I love the owners as well! Gracious and good people. read more

These Donuts are INCREDIBLE. But you have to get here early if you want one of your favorites, they sell out quickly! I am disappointed with their recent closure, there's a sign on the door stating from March 11 or 12th through March 16th, they are closed to work on World Peace? While I support the cause, I don't think that is a proper or professional excuse/explanation for a business to close for an extended period of time...just tell the truth and say the baker needs a break, or whatever the story is. Also, if you're going to have an extended closure, you should update your phone message to reflect that information! read more

What a poorly run place. Every time I go in, they either have 1 or 0 plain cake donuts, which apparently is their most popular kind. IDK, make more? Even the employees are baffled by this. I walked in the store on 4/2 a little after 2pm. The guy behind the counter never said hi or addressed me or asked if I wanted anything. He just stood there and never acknowledged my existence. As I looked at the donuts in the display, down on bottom shelf of buttermilk donutes, I noticed fruit flies or nats flying around inside. A half a dozen of more bugs flying around the donuts. Then I noticed on the chocolate buttermilk donut a bunch of nats or flies crawling around on the donut. Very gross and disgusting. I walked out of the store. They guy never said a single word. I will never eat a donut from this store. read more

It also wasn't overloaded with ice, so it never reached that watered down stage halfway through the drink. If I'm ever back in Dana Point, I'll gladly stop in for another one.

Today, on a Saturday at 12-ish, as a family of 4 we were able to get seated right away. Our server was attentive and offered/brought waters right away. Next time, we might ask to sit outside so our young boys can watch the cars drive by. We learned that the kitchen is nut free (always double check as this could change), which was amazing since our son has a severe nut allergy. He was so excited to learn this as he can be limited at other places due to cross contamination or the wrong oils. Then when the food came out and it was delicious - it sealed the deal. It is now in the top of our list of places to go. The kids cheeseburger is good size and not a smaller version as some places do. The chicken tenders were panko crusted which was so crunchy. My husband and I shared the smoked carrot and chicken tacos and we enjoyed them both. The beer was also very good with my husband and I each trying a different kind - an IPA and a Pale Ale. My salad was very good, but my friend's pasta was unbelievably salty, to the point that it actually burned both of our throats. It was easily the saltiest restaurant dish I've ever tasted. Our server never came back to check on us after delivering the food, so after waiting for quite a while, I had to walk up to the counter and ask her to come to our table. She immediately offered to replace the pasta, and my friend ordered the sausage pasta instead. She really enjoyed the second dish. Since we wanted to try dessert, we each ate only about half of our meals and asked for the leftovers to be boxed up. We also ordered two affogatos, which were delicious and ended the meal on a high note. Unfortunately, that didn't last. The server took our plates to package our leftovers, returned with two bags, called out what she believed were our meals, and handed them to us. We each drove home, about 30 minutes in opposite directions, only to discover that she had given us wrong leftovers. We both lost the meals we had been looking forward to eating for dinner and had to throw away the food we were mistakenly given. I called the restaurant afterward and left a voicemail explaining what had happened, but no one ever returned my call or acknowledged the mistake as a courtesy. There were definitely positives. My salad, the replacement pasta, and the affogatos were all good. However, the overall experience was overshadowed by several avoidable service issues: the lack of parking guidance, having to get up to ask for service after receiving an inedible dish, the mix-up with our leftovers, and the lack of follow up after I called. For a first visit, it was disappointing, and it left me unsure whether I would return.
