Every time I visit this store, I receive amazing customer service. The staff are all knowledgeable, and every recommendation that I've gotten from them specifically for wine has been so good. The price points are decent & seem to be a little cheaper than other liquor stores I've visited. It's a small store, but they have an amazing selection, no matter what you're in the mood for. On my most recent visit, I told the guy what I was looking for & he recommended "Bread & Butter" Chardonnay. It was so good! I was really impressed with this wine and liquor store--an accidental first time visit for me--for a number of reasons. Upon entrance, I noticed how their bottles were openly displayed in boxes (and also on shelves) with a great variety of spirits and wine. It reminded me of a small warehouse. More importantly, what I also noticed was the price points of the two bottles of wine ( and others on the shelves) I bought. When I made a comment about their very reasonable prices, the guy behind the counter mentioned that it was their mission meaning how their prices beat other shops. And it is true as the difference was noticeable. A bottle of the very delicious St. Francis Chardonnay was just $11.99 whereas it must be at least $16 at other stores. A bottle of 19 Crimes Cabernet Sauvignon was just $9.99 compared to around $12 elsewhere. Yes, those were the two bottles I purchased. What I also noticed was how friendly and helpful the staff were (then again, this can be said about most wine store employees) which was appreciated when asking questions. What a bunch of idiots. They told me my order was on the way so I checked out the FedEx tracking number. It was picked up and was on the vehicle for delivery in San Diego, CA. I live in NC! Next thing I know is it's been delivered and then I get an email with an updated FedEx tracking number. This one tells me it's being delivered on Sunday to Amarillo Texas. Again, this is nowhere near North Carolina. What the hell are they playing at. I would caution anyone buying from them. oh, and this shipment weighs twice as much as the original! Don't bother. They took my money and ran. Placed an order on Dec. 26th. Received a email on Dec 27th my order is on th way. However tracking shows it was never picked up let alone actually on its way. No way to contact except through email and I have recieved no response from my multiple emails I have sent. I stumbled in this liquor store in hopes to find a nice bottle of dessert wine to give as a gift. After searching online, a lot of the wine stores were not open until 10 or 12. I was hoping to purchase a bottle before work. When I was in the bank across the street, and saw an open liquor store, in my mind I thought: JACKPOT! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted. Definitely a positive, not uncomfortable vibe here like most liquor stores. Prices seem to be reasonable. A gentleman named Alex helped me to make a selection. I am new to dessert wines, and wasn't as knowledgable about them. He was very clear, and helpful. In the end, he even offered to gift wrap for me. It was a pleasant surprise. This is basically my go-to spot in the hood when I'm looking to get my drink on. It's very close to me, has convenient hours, fair prices, a nice selection and friendly staff. That equals a win in my book. If you are a hardcore oenophile, you may want to look elsewhere for a broader and more impressive wine selection, but theirs is pretty good. I can always find something interesting, and have actually snagged a few real gems here unsuspectingly. Whomever is doing the buying here has a pretty solid pulse on stocking good QPR (quality price ratio) wines, which is always appreciated. They also have a wide variety of spirits, and I can pretty much always find the particular brand I'm looking for. From vodka and gin to tequila, scotch and bourbon (and beyond), I suspect you will find what you need here, too. They do not carry green chartreuse or some of the other more exotic/rare spirits, but beyond that, they've got it all. Over the holidays, they actually had one bottle each of the uber rare and hard to find Van Winkle bourbons (the 10, 15 and 20 year varieties, I believe), which I was extremely shocked and impressed by. Sadly, they were all outside of my spending zone, but it was great to know that they are sourcing stuff like that. All in all, this is a great neighborhood liquor store and I recommend checking them out if you like drinking as much as I do. Cheers! read more

Listen, I've been to France. I know for a fact that you can get amazing wine for less than 10 dollars a bottle. I find it so frustrating that it seems to be generally accepted in New York that decent wine costs at least twice that much. I know that there are, like, customs and stuff, but I simply refuse to pay that much for all my wine! Some wine sure, but not ALL MY WINE. I'm European. I drink more wine than I can afford with prices like that. So there are two choices: Drink less wine than I want to (TRAGEDY!) or find cheaper wine. Enter Prime Time Liquors. Great selection, very clearly labelled and organized in a straightforward manner. Nice European wines, but also plenty from the New World. I have become quite partial to the natural red and white wines from California (forget the names, but there are only one or two of each). They're around 10-11 dollars a bottle and absolutely delicious. Oh, and this shop, unlike certain others in Park Slope that I could mention, have friendly staff who don't treat you like you have a big dog poo on your shoe. Hey, not all French things are great! Go to Acme down the street, Great wine and they treat you with respect unlike prime time. I've been here many times but today they scanned my very legitimate license and then told me it crashed the system so obviously it was a fake today. Prime Time is pretty quality for a number of reasons: A. It is across the street from my old gym (rip NYSC) B. It's right next to the f/g train. Hey, now, hey! C. It's variety in both spirits and wines is greater than most mom and pop wine stores in the neighborhood and they don't charge you an extra buck for being a cutesy mom and pop liquor store. This place is the best for quick and cheap liquor. They have a huge selection of spirits, mixers and wines. The price is pretty reasonable, which is probably one of the best things about this store.
