I let him know the date I would be coming to the area and to please make sure to have a climate controlled facility available to me. He did as promised. When I arrived Andrew was ready to lend a hand in helping my friend and I unload our truck. During the process, my friend fell ill, and Courtney the other employee at the storage facility made sure to come out with several bottles of cold water and help Andrew with getting all of my belongings out of our moving truck. We started off paying $115 every month and by the time we left we were paying $188. Our place is still not finished but we went to retrieve something and found out there was a leak somewhere in our unit. We lost all of our furniture and belongings to mold. Not only that we pulled everything out and found mice droppings and that our stuff had been chewed on by mice. Not to mention we found German Roaches in our unit that infested our belongings. Some of our stuff even smelled like a dead animal. We had to get rid of over half of our stuff and they charged us another $75 to rent a U-Haul to move our stuff that was damaged in their facility. They are over priced and uncaring, don't waste your time here.

They…read moretell you when you reserve a unit online that the contract is not in place until you sign the contract and show your ID. Reservations not completed within the time frame were reverted. I specifically called to inquire about these two options, between rent and reserve, when on their site. Assured that if I only reserved and did not complete by signing the contract and showing ID, it would revert in a certain amount of time. This was not the case. I sold several of the items I was concerned about storing and called to let them know (the very next day) I would no longer need the reservation. No issues with the guy I spoke to on the phone; they would cancel the reservation, and I'd get my hold refunded within 3-5 business days. I waited a little over a week, but there was no refund. Called back multiple times before finally getting a return call. This time, the guy on the phone apologizes and states that the manager refuses to refund the reservation. I confirmed I did not sign the contract I was emailed, nor did I go in and physically sign one or provide ID. He agreed, but advised that management would not allow the refund. I left a request to speak with said manager, but I never received a return call. After multiple phone calls over a three-week period requesting to speak directly with management concerning the issue, I felt so bad for the poor guy answering the phones, who was obviously caught in the middle, that I finally just filed a claim with my bank. It's an obvious money grab situation. I've already advised seven different people at our complex who inquired about self-storage in the area, specifically not to use Martin's after this encounter.
