The only downside was a very, very limited number of starter options. Also nice to get out of the tourist area but stilll only a 10 min walk from the city centre. We started with "fall off the bone" ribs and the Hallumi - (squeaky cheese - wish I could find this here in SoCal... if anyone reading this knows a place... please let me know!) It was very good. We ended the meal with Crème Brulee. It too was very, very good. The price of the meal was reasonable as well. I can't recommend this place more highly. The only warning, is if you are 6'3" like I am, you need to watch your head. There are some low wooden beams that are several hundred years old that will put a dent in your head if you are not careful.

When we got here, we were seated promptly and there were several tourists that eventually came, so they have a great reputation...evidently... I really enjoyed the chicharron cracklings, the pork, and beef. I'm sorry but I don't get into lamb at all, never have and never will - so I focused on the other meats with my Yorkshire pudding (which is a fluffy bread)... They provide a lot of gravy and it comes out of the decanter, piping hot!! I really enjoyed the three (3) sauces - applesauce, horseradish, and chimichurri, get extra sauces if you must...get extra gravy too!! Finally, we were here to celebrate and they generously and kindly hooked us up with their infamous cheesecake which was incredible!! We came out really full but we had walked 45 minutes to get here so it was a well deserved meal for Sunday at 12:00 noon. :)

I don't think you can go wrong with almost anything on the menu. Everything we had was delicious, and you can tell the chef's really know how and understand how to cook and flavor meat to perfection. The most surprising item though, is the White Chocolate Cheesecake. It is served out of a dish, tiramisu style, and is one of the best desserts I have had in a while. It was not too rich but so flavorful. So when you come here, make sure to save room for dessert!

It was blinking chilly in there, they had plugged in heaters, and did turn the little white hot air heater towards me, so I did warm up, but I kept my coat on, and you could see others were cold too. It was missing the tomato salsa and onion ring it normally comes with, and was a cold stodge in a bun. So I ended up just eating my chips which were lovely to be fair. The hubster has the ribs and were nice enough. Mac and cheese was average. They did take the burger off of the bill and apologised re the burger. But it's a shame as it ruined the meal really. I was a bit skeptic at first just based on the fact the waitress was an older lady and there was some confusion when we asked some questions regarding the menu, but I was wrong. My friend and I shared the steak selection (£48 for 2 people) which came with Sirloin, Fillet and Ribeye. 2 steaks of each per person. We then ordered 3 side dishes to share between us - dauphinois potato, triple cooked chips and a portion of asparagus. All of it was cooked to perfection. The knife went through the steak like butter, the chips were delicious and the potatoes so tasty and the asparagus was perfect. I was getting quite full, with 3 steaks to eat, but I didn't want the meal to end, it was so delicious. The portion of chips was huge! We couldn't finish them. The potatoes were just addictive, I would happily have eaten it all over again. The restaurant soon filled up and I was actually really surprised at how busy it got. I naively didn't think that people frequented these local restaurants too often, but the place was really busy and according to our waitress, that was a quiet night! If only I could afford to eat here all the time! With it being a steak restaurant the price is more expensive than say going out for an Italian meal, but it was most definitely worth it. I can't wait to tell all my friends and colleagues and encourage everyone to go. I can't wait to go back. Cabrera is definitely a local gem.
