I also have a hard time taking the pictures that would best showcase the work they did. So I'm just going to do my best. 1- My library is absolutely and insanely beautiful. The lines, the wood, the feeling, the craftsmanship are all one of a kind and special to my wife and I. 2- The sturdiness of the install is exceptional. There is a rolling ladder that actually rolls around a corner. That is not normal. It is beyond what you would expect, and just amazing to use. The track system that the ladder slides on is super unique and low profile. It is sturdy and functional. I love it. 3- The creativity Paul Rene employed to design and manufacture this library was beyond what I could have envisioned. He sat with my wife and I and listened to us. We are lifetime collectors of books and avid readers. Every book on our shelves have been read at least once. When we sat down together he asked about our personalities, what we loved about books, our personal taste. A few weeks later he came up with a draft design. We worked back and forth for a few more weeks adjusting lines and adding more curves until we have the library you see pictured in the review. 4- Paul Rene worked hard to install the library. The team they used to install everything were courteous, and incredibly professional. After a month, I asked them to come back to look at a part of the ladder slide system and they were here adjusting it in no time. I can say this honestly- Paul is an artist without peer. My photos barely capture what he designed., and what I have the joy of living with. His partner Rene is a technical master at construction. Fast forward a few months, my husband and I just purchased a new home and were trying to blend our households. The process was incredibly easy: we met with the team, described our project and they went to town. And they said they do not have a limit on the number of revisions but I have an email from them stating they usually only allow 3 revisions. They tried to fix this by allowing one more revision but if I had known that they had any kind of limit then I never would have booked with them. They also state in their response that I (the client) am responsible for making sure the items they suggest are quality before I order but then what's the point of hiring a designer? They are already supposed to do that kind of background work.

I engaged 2nd Avenue Design by email in February. I specifically asked if they did engineering…read more Michael at 2nd Ave responded by email saying, "yes this is something we do a lot." I subsequently met with Michael. He came to my home and we discussed the project. He said he would write a bid for the job. This is where we started to have problems with communication and follow up. I had to ask for the bid after it was due. Miraculously he sent it after I asked. I decided to use 2nd Ave and gave a deposit to start the process with the agreement that work would begin by June 1st. Between my first contact with Michael at 2nd Ave and now (July 15th) I've had to hound him for updates and communication. He said he was having a difficult time finding an engineer. He brought one by finally (an engineer who he never worked with) and the engineer kept asking me what I wanted and he had no solutions except to put large obtrusive posts and beams in after jackhammering my foundation. Clearly this is not what I discussed with Michael and it was clearly a lazy solution for the engineer. No work has ever been started and my last text to Michael on July 5th was ignored until July 14th when I texted again and asked for my deposit back. I'm sure 2nd Ave is good at ripping out your old kitchen and putting a new one in when it's just new cabinets and appliances. But they definitely are not your company if you need any thought put into your project. I would not recommend 2nd Avenue Design for any project other than anything very simple.

Though the property didn't sell quickly, my belief is that one of the reasons we did get top dollar was that Savvy Staging decorated it in such a way as to minimize flaws and emphasize space. The closing turned out to be a fiasco and we were unable to give the stagers proper notice to remove the furniture. Since we were given one day's notice before closing I called to ask if there was any way to expedite the destaging and Stephanie made a miracle happen (though it cost extra as it should have). - Everyone I came in contact with from this company showed a high degree of professionalism, thanked me for the business, and made me feel like a valued client.

After paying Kelly an almost $4500 for 4.5 rooms of staging, we received the cheapest furniture we…read morecould have received for a high end home with a certain style that she wasn't able to match. The home is a 1941 historical renovation with a very distinct mid century style that matches the entire neighborhood and time era of the home. Kelly used a mix of all different styles and hodgepodged the home together. During the initial consultation, it was made very clear to her that mid century modern was the look of the home and the furniture that was to be expected to be delivered and set up. During the consultation Kelly seemed very receptive to exactly what was being told to her, and stated that's what would be used in the home. At any time during the consultation Kelly could've told me that she was going to use a mix of whatever she had left in her warehouse... As that is exactly what she did. Kelly's contract states that no one is to be in the home during staging, and so we were not able to see the furnishings she was installing, or I would've stopped it before it was done. At best, the furniture she used is quality you would find at Big Lots, Walmart, and target. The items used were what you would expect a 19 or 20 year-old to buy for their first apartment, not an almost $1M home. Comparing what she brought to Target may be a stretch on quality. Several of the items are already falling apart or barely being held together within 48 hours of her staging. When Kelly was asked to replace several of the items, she told us she doesn't have inventory. Not sure how this is our problem, since the reason we were told we had to pay 100% of the cost on the front end was so that she could purchase new items. Instead of trying to work with us on correcting the problem, she argued everything that was brought up and told us that we needed to trust her design with the mix of modern farmhouse, mid century, contemporary, etc because it reaches a broader audience. This home is not a "broader audience "home... It is a very specific styling in a very specific style neighborhood. Which again, she seemed to be on board with at the initial consultation. The spaces are small because of the age of the home, Kelly was told exactly how certain rooms needed to be staged and where furniture needed to be placed based on the limited amount of space. Kelly did not follow what she said she would, and when she was confronted about it continue to argue about why her way was better. The sofa she furnished is wobbly and sways back and forth if barely bumped on toothpick legs. I asked her to please replace the couch and got told that no one is supposed to sit on it anyway, so she doesn't understand why it's an issue. It's an issue because we can't control who may or may not sit on the couch during showings, and if an elderly person sits on it and falls, we have a problem. All we got from Kelly continuously was that she was right, we were wrong, and we needed to trust her opinions. I am very disappointed as there's nothing we can do about the situation now, and we are stuck with the cheap furniture and low budget look that she gave us. Based on our initial consultation and how receptive Kelly was to my ideas and design, I had referred her to other clients. Unfortunately, I've had to call those clients back and tell them not to go with her services. Pretty bummed about this whole experience, but lesson learned. We will no longer work with Saavy home staging on any future projects.

I was a little skeptical spending so much money with someone I found on Facebook so I went and met him at his workshop to get a feel for the operation. He had a number of projects going on and I felt comfortable right away. I chose the slab, provided a down payment, and the table was delivered a few weeks ahead of schedule. He and the team did a great job bringing it into the space and getting it set up. The table is always a topic of conversation with new visitors and everyone loves it.
