These guys drove straight to our house like it was targeted, parked outside our driveway and knocked on our door. I told them it wasn't a good time and I'm not interested and they were extremely pushy trying to continue to sell. My husband ended up going outside to chat with the guy who was super nice, but business model just seemed very shady. He told my husband a different company name that didn't match the truck he came in. My husband said this is way too much quantity for us and we'd pass, but the sales guy kept pushing. My husband then asked how he found our address and the sales guy said he's been doing this for over 10 years "he knows how to find anyone" which was pretty unsettling and unprofessional... After my husband finally got the message through we're not buying, they drove off without soliciting to any of our neighbors. We recently moved so it's possible they were looking up recently sold houses and doing door-to-door sales. I understand they're just doing their jobs, but the sales tactic was just too pushy and business seems too shady. (he also said they didn't have a website...) read more

I've used prime selection for a few years now and I love them. My experience with them has been really good. Yes they knocked on my door and did the whole sales man thing but it wasn't beyond the norm and they didn't push much when I said no. I actually called them back after making sure they were legit with a quick internet search. I'm no meat expert but the meat is good quality. Compared to a typical restaurant it's much better, and I cant tell the difference between them and an average steak house. I really enjoy their products and I love the convenience of having bulk purchases delivered to me. I have gotten to know Ronnie a bit now and he's a good guy. He often brings my kids a little treat and likes to talk about my work. It's nice to use a company that remembers you as a person and not a number. Their van is clean and advertises well and as for packaging, everything I get comes vacuum sealed and is neatly organized in boxes. The only time I encountered food that had a failed seal was when they offered me some free fish because they couldn't sell it. I was in the Army forever so I'll eat most anything. We have a large "no soliciting" sign on our door. The salespeople from this company feel like this doesn't apply to them and have woken up my toddlers numerous times. For this reason alone, I would never buy anything from Prime Selection. SEC. 21.509. SOLICITING PROHIBITED. (a) It shall be unlawful for a solicitor to contact or attempt to contact any person at a residential or commercial property when there is a sign posted with letters at least 1/2 inch high that states, "No Solicitors, No Soliciting, Solicitation Prohibited" or any other similar language that indicates that solicitors are not welcome. With that being said, I have tried their meats before. The burgers had huge chunks of gristle and the steak tasted like dirt. Way too gamey and tough. There are lots of local meat markets and ranches in the area that offer better quality products that haven't been frozen or carted around in someone's refrigerated truck for who knows how long. He introduced us to Prime Selection meats and made a very convincing argument for why we should stop buying our meats from grocery stores. Clearly this is a problem from other reviews I'm reading. Two children napping and sales man rings the door bell ignoring our sign asking not to do so. When we answered door and politely asked if he noticed the sign he blatantly stated he doesn't look at nor read those signs. Knocking on people's doors when they have no soliciting signs is bad enough, as many other reviews have pointed out that these employees have a flagrant disregard for anyone/anything besides making sales. The employees constantly come into my place of work, obviously desperate to make sales. After the constant badgering by one guy (who claimed that he makes $150k/year doing this), I finally decided to check out the "deals" that he had in his truck. The steaks were tiny, thin, and massively overpriced. I told him that I would pass and that I had just stocked up on meat from Costco. He scoffed and said that their quality blows Costco out of the water AS I'M HOLDING ONE OF THEIR STEAKS IN MY HAND. I love this company. My sales manager is Eric and he's fantastic. I text him with my order and within 24 hours he's dropping it off at my front door & there's no delivery fees! No matter where you live in San Diego county, and I believe even outside of San Diego, they will hand deliver it to your door and my Rep even helps me stock it In my freezer. If you're a real meat aficionado, you will love the selection of beef, pork, chicken, seafood and wild game that they provide. My favorites are the Wagyu beef burgers and the chicken variety pack. Purchasing my food through these guys has saved me a ton of money compared to purchasing meat from the grocery store and if I'm a little short on cash to complete a bigger order (I like to buy 6 months worth of meat at a time because they throw in so many extras with the bigger sales ) they let me make payments on my purchase! Imagine going to Ralph's and trying to set up installment payments for your groceries? You would be shut down so quick! But the meat products are easier to cook with because they are flash frozen which makes the thaw process extremely quick. There is nothing i don't completely love about this place! I wanted to get on here and say that I'm deeply upset that I just got scammed. We were just moving into our home and with the many bills, we politely rejected the offer. My husband opened the door because the man at the door rang the doorbell and then knocked many times. We thought it was my sister, but nope, it was a door-to-door salesman. When we were making our way out, this person brought a box of meats and told us that our neighbors were buying the meat and they were in the neighborhood (lies). The man just came into our home and we were really trying to not purchase anything. He set up all of the meat on our small coffee table and went over pricing (again explaining we were okay due to a new home and so on). He told us the price and we again said we were okay. We explained that we were heading out and we were honestly so uncomfortable. He kept going on and on about the meat and the quality and so on. At the end, we got 2 boxes and then asked for a tip... We overpaid and it was just a moment of needing him to get out of the house. I took the meat over to my parents as I'm vegetarian and just didn't want to deal with it anymore. On top of that, I had a screaming baby. I can't speak for the meat itself, but I'm just annoyed about the way they sell and knowing I just got scammed a lump sum of money I can't spend, just to get someone to leave my own property. read more

She was actually headed to Sam's to get meat and we are glad Anthony stopped to talk with us! He came over to the house and laid out all the cuts and gave us all the information regarding how the live stock was raised etc. We got the freezer he allowed us to mix and match what we wanted and we couldn't be happier or more excited about our purchase and what's in-store for pallets!! Someone came to our door (in a HOA community where there is no soliciting allowed) and played that game, "I was just in the area and I need to get rid of this meat". If he needed to "get rid of meat" then she can give it away to someone unfortunate, right? No he needed for me to accept his scam. I told him I don't need any meat. He seemed persistent and would not say no for an answer. I was ready to use the "vegetarian excuse" but I bet this sales shark has heard that excuse everyday. He started at $500 and since I was on the intercom, I said that sounds like a lot of money, he instantly reduced the amount to $200! Can you do that at a car dealership, I don't think so! I bet if I came outside with 100 smackers he would have sold me the $500 meat (ya, $500 not!) I had to troll this guy on my security cameras and he basically did the same thing to every home. His complete lack of professionalism, and salesmanship were apparent in his behavior. Unexpected ring at the door and my husband answered. Prime selection meat guy! My husband of course said he would like to see what they had and I was curious as well even though I'm a pescatarian. Maybe they had fish! Went down and they were helping one of our neighbors then pulled up in our driveway. Anthony, was very pleasant and showed us everything he had. They had an amazing variety of meat as well as seafood. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. A pleasure to deal with. Of course my husband couldn't decide and we ended up getting a box which was fine because it was great deal and on top of that...I got a free box of fresh organic veggies and fruit!! We just ordered a new grill which is to be delivered Monday and what a perfect time to get some stuff to throw on the grill. Brought the box in and my 3 year old son immediately lit up when he saw the oranges and ate 2 before I could even grab a photo of them. I ended up making sautéed veggies with what I got and they were delicious!! Next time I'm hoping they have some salmon, since they were out this time.
