Yellowfin tuna caught at Guadalupe Island
    Jerry L.

Fisherman's Processing is my main processor for my yearly Shogun trip to Guadalupe Island. Sean and his team are there to meet the boat even when we're usually arriving at 6am at Fisherman's Landing. Shogun and Fisherman's have their system for unloading and weighing the fish straight from Shogun's RSW (Refrigerated Salt Water) hold. Customer's are given a receipt for their weighed fish. Processing can be done same day or you can have Fisherman's freeze your processed fish for pickup at a future date. The Fisherman's team is very organized and take really good care of your catch. They cut and package according to your instructions - size/weight of each individual vacuum sealed package and thickness of the packaging. Looking forward to seeing the Fisherman's Processing team again in December. Pro-tip - Please tip your processing team when they help you load up hundreds of pounds of fish.

I enjoyed the big, juicy pieces of shrimp and the mango slaw on top. Would definitely get this one again! We also shared the fish and chips - beer battered cod. I liked how the breading wasn't thick and it remained crispy!! Also, it didn't feel heavy or too oily at all. The fish inside was moist. The coleslaw that came with it was good too and it was a little sweet. I didn't like the tartar sauce that much and honestly didn't feel like the fish needed it because it already had good flavor. Service was great! The person who took our order was very nice. Very casual place! Can't wait to come back and try other items

There was still a significant line, but when we finally got to the front, the waitress taking our order wouldn't even look at us. She spent a good portion of our "turn" chatting with another waitress before finally turning to us--still with zero eye contact. We ordered a cioppino, a clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, fish and chips, and a dozen oysters. I noticed she shouted the soup orders back to the kitchen but didn't say a word about the fish and chips. When I specifically asked her if she got the fish and chips, she said "yes," took my card, and sent us to a table. Our soups and oysters arrived after 15 minutes, but another 30 minutes passed with no sign of the rest of the meal. When I followed up with the same waitress to check on the status, she looked at the order and flatly told me there were no fish and chips on there. By that point, the restaurant was already closing. She asked if I still wanted them, but after waiting that long and dealing with that level of indifference, I just said no. Extremely disappointing experience. If you're going to stay open for customers, you should at least provide basic communication and hospitality. I won't be coming back.

There's a lot very close by but parking is $8 ($5 if you get validation by making a $10 purchase in one of the shops at Seaport Village). A lot was sold out by the time we got there so I would recommend coming early in the morning. They had fishmongers scaling and cleaning fish off the pier and a wide array of fresh fish by the pound (prices were very affordable). When we were there, there was one "cooked foods" booth with clam chowder, ceviche, fish and chips, uni hand rolls, etc. Prices were fair but the line was long so we opted to skip it. Much of the menu was sold out by that time anyway. Food looked decent based on what I saw others eating. Overall it's worth a stop if you're in the area, want to do some shopping at Seaport Village, can find parking, etc. Otherwise I'm not sure it's worth a trip per se.

Oh, when she saw that she wanted to go to bed early on Friday night so we can check this Market early on Saturday. So we did went to the seafood market, there's PAID PARKING exactly near this Market, this is in SEAPORT VILLAGE, there's plenty of paid Parking wherever you end up in Seaport Village. So many seafood vendors and they have nice and big FISHES for sale, and lots of huge LOBSTERS too. Not only do they sell the Seafood here Fresh but also some if the vendors can cook it for you right there and people lined up to eat there. We didn't try to buy the one they're gonna cook it for you but we did buy some seafood for me to Grill at home. But I hope they added more vendors that offer to cook the Seafood there or Drinks. It's a nice spot to visit and walk around with your Family or Friends.

PS - secret menu with Nachos! Too hard to choose from. Very old school with great friendly and no-pressure service. Lots of seating, inside and outside. Dogs welcome. Big screens TVs in the bar. Loved the clam chowder especially with a generous add of Tapatio. Nice and warm, creamy and a good amount of clams and potatoes. Also had the green burrito with shrimp which was huge and tasty. Big enough to split. Also got rice instead of beans...loved the rice! PS - Love the fishing decor especially the dozens of rods and reels in the ceiling!

Service was ok, most of the time overlooked because "sorry everyone came in at once" was the justification when nobody walked in and the rush lunch crowd was finishing up. The menu had plenty of offerings. LOCAL MANILA CLAMS ($18)- steamed in white wine, cilantro garlic butter & salsa fresca. Served with toasted bread (gf). First and foremost, the broth was a bit too wine-y and felt they could have cooked it down a little more to rid the alcohol taste. The amount of clams was generous. They were cleaned pretty well (very little grit found) and cooked nicely. The toasted bread helped get down the broth but still the wine flavor was overpowering. I'd like to come back and try some fish and chips but after this experience I'm not in a rush for it. Until the next review....

You walk in expecting Vons. You get Saigon. The produce section alone deserves its own theme music. Herbs, mushrooms, greens you didn't even know had names -- all fresher and cheaper than anything your American supermarket is pretending to offer. It's a straight-up cornucopia. Then you hit the meat counter and suddenly Ralphs and Vons feel like they should issue an apology. Marrow bones, femurs, trotters -- if you're making pho, ramen, chicken stock, or just want to feel like a culinary warlock, this is your playground. You will walk out with ingredients you didn't plan on buying and absolutely no regrets. Every aisle has some kind of delightful chaos. Dried pineapple flowers for homemade bitters for your signature cocktail? Absolutely. Industrial-sized bags of frog meat? Listen... maybe not for me. But if you need it, this is the place. No judgment, only abundance. It's as big as any mainstream grocery store, but stocked with so much cool stuff it feels like a teleportation portal to Southeast Asia. You come for one thing, you leave with twenty, and somehow you're still thrilled about it. Five stars. A must-visit. And if you start making better broth after shopping here, you can thank me later.

There are plenty of items that I've never seen before, but I always find a nice person in the aisle either shopping or working for the store to explain to me what something is and how to work it into a dish! They have a lot of vegetarian items in the frozen food section. I haven't disliked one of them yet. One of my favorites is burdock patties which very closely resemble in texture and taste a McDonald's hamburger! I also like the shredded vegetarian lamb, their marinated chicken, and today I bought textured protein beef steaks to try. I know that some of the bigger producers of vegetarian and vegan foods have somewhat of a limited line of taste to try, so here's a store with an expanded vegetarian protein frozen food line. I posted one of the pictures below, and then, guess what? Kit Kats in matcha flavor, oooh! You'll find their aisles are prominently marked with signs above.
