    Wagyu tomahawk beyond incredible
    Raja L.

I get my meat from. Chris Gallagher and Ventura since 2020. I met Ventura randomly in a parking lot in Carmel valley during Covid in 2020, and he promised me the hamburger meat they have will be the best hamburgers I ever had. Good news, we wasn't joking! Recently got a Wagyu tomahawk and it was beyond mouth watering. Love these guys and the deliciousness they bring to our table!

An "ussie" with Nick! Our "meat guy".

It's very simple folks, if the meat was actually good or a good value, the salesman wouldn't have to hard sell it... WAY too aggressive..

My sales guy told me this meat was all grass fed. Is it?

All cows eat grass naturally. This meat is tough because no special diet is given to the cow to marble up meat and fatten up cow. This meat is grass fed grass finished the cheapest way. What you want is GRAIN finished to get the marbling and… Read more

Other than its sister store, Iowa Meat Farms, Tip Top Meats in Carlsbad (yes, they have returned), and the Wise Ox, also in Carlsbad, there are hardly any real butcher shops around. But these guys know what they are doing. Try their burgers and meatloaf. They are easy to cook at home. Try their steaks. You can get a legitimately excellent steak here for a fraction of what you would pay at a steakhouse and it will be BETTER than the steakhouse version. Make sure you ask the counter guys to season it for you before they wrap it up. Try their freshly-made sandwiches. Make sure you try their beans behind the deli counter. Their pimento dip in the refrigerated area is legendary and more addictive than crack (or so I have read). They have interesting sodas, craft beers, different mustards, El Indio chips, fresh breads, and a small but very well-curated wine selection. Is there anything they do not do well here? "No," is the answer to that question. They do everything well here. They have their own parking lot but it fills up quickly. There is not much other parking in the area. In the past, I have walked several blocks away in the residential neighborhood to get to the store when there is no parking available. And it was worth it.

The vibe is wild there- from creepy McDonalds figures to a diner-like bar and decor, it'll feel like no other restaurant or bar you've been to. I had enough sodium for the rest of my week, but man was everything tasty. The Prosciutto Sandwich was so tasty and loaded up with prosciutto. The meatballs were flavorful (and the sauce was great for dipping my sandwich!). The drinks were super cool. I got the freak nasty and it might've been one of the best drinks I've had in a while. Think a cross between a Gin & Tonic and an Italian sandwich. And the pickle beer was very pickle forward! The waitress was very friendly and was able to speak to all the drinks. I'd definitely come here again... just maybe not too frequently given the high sodium levels haha.

We were traveling and being impressed by reviews, we secured a RESERVATION days prior to our arrival!!! You'd think someone in the building would've been expecting us! No excuse for not being greeted, and not even getting the bare minimum treatment expected from any random 24/7 diner, let alone a premium steakhouse. Dining experience was disappointing (or nonexistent), and the private Yelp messages from the owner were extremely telling. Can't improve if you don't take care to acknowledge and address areas for opportunity. Customer service is a glaring one. Pro: Convenient parking. We ordered the ribeye and my boys ordered the cowboy ribeye. This time we took our 2mo old and the lady was accommodating to our needs. The plus for us too is that it comes with a cake dessert. It was so delicious I recommend it.

The ambiance inside was very nice and really set the mood from the night but the environment was loud so something to keep in mind. Once seated we were helped and our sever was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu! The food was very good overall. We ordered New York strips, the ceaser (on this night it wasn't table side but it typically is), broccolini, dirty hasbrowns and truffle fries! The steak was prepared perfectly and I really enjoyed the side of sauces we were able to try table side (peppercorn, horseradish, bernaise, Bordeaux) I really enjoyed the broccolini and hash rows and thought they complimented the meal perfectly! At the end of our meal I requested a Polaroid photo I had seen taken earlier in the night with another party since we were also celebrating something special and our server graciously called them over, turns out it was the manager that night and he was lovely!
