Do NOT use this company if you have a mold problem. The first time they did a mold job on our house I thought the job went well, but now I'm questioning that. This second time, it has been an absolute disaster. After nearly three weeks of delays and shoddy, thoughtless and misleading work, I'm having to hire someone else to do the job all over again.
Here's a rough outline of what went wrong:
A crew of non-professionals was sent to remove areas of the bathroom that had water damage. No quarantine of the area was done, despite the company knowing that I had had mold illness previously that was so serious that I had lost part of my vision. Then, for some reason they only removed a part of the ceiling and ignored a wall that had visible water damage. This crew who clearly had no professional training then decided that because they didn't see mold, there was no mold, despite areas of the pink ceiling insulation having grey in it. But also, not all toxic mold is visible to the naked eye, surfaces must be tested, which was not done. So, since they decided there was no mold, they didn't even bother to spray it with anti-mold disinfectant. The ceiling was left open for almost two weeks before they came back to repair it, leading to me and my housemate (who's had a kidney transplant and so has a compromised immune system) becoming extremely fatigued and developing coughing problems in the meantime.
At the time the initial crew was there I asked them why they only removed a ceiling area didn't remove the water damaged wall areas. They said that will be done "later". I thought ok, that's weird. When someone finally came back to complete the work nearly two weeks later (the level of workers were equivalent to a couple of illegals picked up at a Home Depot), they just started closing off the ceiling. I asked about the wall again (thankfully I speak Spanish). They said they'd work on that after they closed the ceiling. I emailed the company to confirm. They said not to worry, they would "take care of it." It turned out that "taking care of" the water damaged wall was to spread a thin layer of plaster over it so it hid the water damaged areas. Now they're claiming that that was the scope of the work we agreed to. But every time we had expressed concern that the work we needed done wasn't getting done, they had kept saying "don't worry, we'll get to that." But no, there was no intention of ever getting to it. They were hoping to just cosmetically cover it up and hope that we thought that they had done it.
Their workers also managed to damage our floor and just basically do such an all around incompetent job of everything that other workers we had in the house at the time on a completely different project were laughing at them and came to us later, expressing concern for the situation.
No proper remediation was done. No testing was done. I could have gotten a Home Depot transient worker to do the equivalent of this shoddy job at 1/10th of the price or less. And now I question the first job they did because they had "sealed" off that area so I never inspected the work while in progress, so now I'm wondering how superficially that work was done as well. I'm so frustrated I'm honestly on the verge of tears from this whole situation.
