2017 I had a conversation with Demetri as I had a blown motor. He asked me what power I wanted to be around. I told him close to 500 wheel would be nice. He recommended what I needed. I took every recommendation and have been sitting at 510 wheel for the last 8 years and 22,000 miles. With Prime building my engine and Jr Tuning it all the car ever needs is oil changes and plugs. And she still hurts feelings of cars with more than twice the displacement. Sure the initial investment was higher because what he recommended has been proven to work well. 1) Really DONT understand what the negative reviews are for. You have guys shipping their cars from Alaska to this shop; they must be doing something right. 2) My experience was nothing but 5 stars. They let me hang in the garage while my car was on the dyno, answered any questions I had, and as far as pricing goes; you have to spend money to make power. 3) Every time I've come by the shop all of the bays have cars on them. It's a business, don't feel neglected if you aren't seen right away, they're a busy shop. 4) 10K on my build and my car is purring like a kitten. So 2 years later I get s call from Phil asking if they can help make me whole while it was 2 years later it was a big deal someone was actually looking to fix a pass situation ... So I opted to ask for a favor that he followed through ...another 2yrs and they still checked in with me and helped me out of a bind when my car was leaking fuel ...... the new customer support staff has been better ... Honestly. The claims of having to spend "Big Money" are totally off base. Demetri and crew have given me absolute top notch service. From simple gauge installs to squeezing me in for a mystery rattle they have taken the best care of my car. This has been an incredibly difficult transition for me, I recently moved to NYC and no longer have a garage or the space to work on my car myself. Aside from a crappy shop that swindled a foolish 18 year old almost 13 years ago, Prime has been the only shop to do any work to my car and will continue to be the only shop I trust with my car. They're one of the few shops of true enthusiast I've come across. Here's to seeing how deep into the 10's we'll be able to send my car next year. read more

Decent People, but no technical skills at all. Tune was completely off, clutch installed wrong twice, had to get another shop to fix it. Car stalled out, hestated, etc. Would not recommend. The tuner there also has a bad history at an out of business shop called TurboTrix. I have a 2013 BRZ just like the below post. I do not recommend getting a tune from this place. If you have questions about your car's tune, you can not speak with the tuner. You would have to call the shop and tell them your question and they will ask the tuner and get back to you. I had to get the car retuned a second time because the car was overboosting and i dont want my car to blow up. since the retune was on their part. the service becomes terrible. I could never reach the tuner directly. Find yourself a tuner that you can be friends with on FB so whenever you have a questions about your tune they are there to support you. read more

Excellent communication always got an email back with updates within the same day and even after hours. Build they did Great job took a while longer then expected but worth the wait from what seems like a quality build. I'll definitely be back soon for the tune and who knows what the future mods may bring. read more

One of the best shops i've been to in the East Coast. There labor rate of 90 dollars an hour is cheaper than most shops around. They do quality work and follow the time on what you were scheduled to. The tuner at shop Junior has got to be one of the best tuner out in the East Coast. read more

Shitty shop even under new management. Told me to go to another shop because they said they didnt have experience dealing with my electrical problem in my wrx. No surprise they are always moving around and strapped for cash. Stay away and thank yourself and safety. read more

Actually just had a horrible experience at Prime Motoring, I gave them a call about installing my rear sway bars and shifter rear and front bushings and to check out my front sways as the nut fell off, they first told me a price and then when i got there it was different than what they had told me. Not only that but after driving half an hour to them, and waiting for about half an hour i was told they would not be able to do any work to my car. I asked them if they can maybe just check out my front sway bar and put a new nut in because i didn't want to drive around like that. They told me no because if they're going to put my car on the lift they rather just do all the work. again i told them i dont feel safe driving around like that and they told me to come back another day. These guys aren't even licensed mechanics! The only reason they are able to stay in business is because of they're Tuner. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM read more

Attention all car enthusiasts! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP!!!! I brought my 2013 Subaru BRZ to Prime Motoring to have it tuned on the dynamometer after installing a turbo kit. I had to bring my car back to them a second time because they said their machine wasn't working properly. Mind you I had already left a deposit on the first visit, and paid in full for the tune than was not properly completed. The second time it was in their shop, I received a call notifying me that while hooked to their machine, MY ENGINE BLEW UP! !! I am then informed that I will need to have my vehicle towed from their lot, at my own expense, and they are in no way responsible for the damage! !! I had the car towed. The next day I went to speak to one of the owners Demetri Xanthos who is the biggest animal I have run into in a while. He refused to refund my money for the tune that was not even performed before they managed to blow up my engine! Now I am left with a beautiful pile of parts that I can't drive as it now needs a new motor! My advice. ..unless you think it's a good time to put out thousands of dollars for a car that you'll never get to drive. ..DON'T BRING YOUR CAR TO PRIME MOTORING! !!! read more

Never take your car to this place for mechanical service. I took my care for a timing belt replacement and they did an awful job. The car was out of time. I kept getting the engine light on for a mis-fire code. I took the car back and told them about the issue and they looked at it and said that to them it was fine. They actually made me change another part and again it did not correct the issue. I went back once more with no resolution but that it had nothing to do with the timing belt service. I had to take the car to another shop for them to open the car up again and put the timing belt in sequence for it to be work properly. This was an expensvive job and I ended up spending double the cost. Please save yourself a headache and take your car somewhere else. I don't even think anyone at this place has a proper mechanic training/certification. read more

Just had an amazing experience at Prime two days ago. I drove 5 hours for a dyno tune in addition to a few part installs beforehand, and even when we ran into the first hindrance, one of the techs offered a component off of his own personal car before we got mine figured out. All of my questions no matter how outlandish were answered promptly, and everything I was initially quoted stood true. Also, my dyno tune is on point! Junior knows his stuff. As with any place of business, most reviews are oftentimes a reflection of negative in store experience (e.g- squeaky wheel gets the oil) while positive experiences are seldom mentioned due to it being an expectation. Cars have many unknown variables when on topic of modifications, and it'd be impossible to account for all of them. My end state is simple- don't omit Prime Motoring based on the onesies and twosies of 1 star ratings on here. Look on the forums sometime and see the reputation they've built for themselves over the past few years. My experience was amazing, and I will gladly drive back up there from VA once I want to slap a new turbo kit on. read more
