They worked really hard, did a really nice job, and took away all the waste when they were done. We've had lots of compliments on the new walkway, the landings, and the columns from the neighbors. Working with Masonworks has been a roller coaster. They are very, very good at the masonry aspect,…read morebut we had a negative experience with everything outside of the excellent stone walls and patio they built for us. They have built beautiful flat stone walls for us in our front and back yards. We were very impressed with them after the first job they did for us in our front yard a few years ago, so we did not even look at other companies when we wanted to spruce up our backyard this year. The garden walls they built in the backyard were once again beautiful. However, as a gardener, I was disappointed and frustrated by the following things: - Our contract included 50/50 loam compost for the new garden beds. During the job, we caught them filling the beds with the grass they had pulled up from our old lawn and asked them to stop doing that. - When I went to start planting, I found that the garden beds had only a layer of new soil but that my shovel quickly hit a lot of big rocks and uncovered old soil, debris, and trash. - They completely trampled and destroyed my established perennial garden, which was located in a garden bed above where the new beds were built. They also broke several pavers in a little garden path I had and removed them without replacing them. - They recommended microclover for my lawn and seeded it for us as part of the contract, but it grew in quite spotty despite us maintaining it properly with daily waterings. I contacted them about the first issue and their initial response was to tell me that the stones I was finding were part of the wall construction - this was not the case. They had someone come out to take a look and concluded that the soil did need to be replaced, which they finally did. It is much better now, though I still have found some large stones in it. However, in the process of solving that issue, they caused the second one - many of the perennials that my mother and I had worked to plant over the past four years were totally destroyed. They offered me a credit to compensate for the loss, or the option to have them reinstall new flowers, but by that point I just didn't want them near my garden anymore so accepted the credit. I didn't bother contacting them about the spotty lawn - I threw down some grass seeds yesterday to try and fill in the gaps. While I appreciated that they did eventually take steps to resolve the issues, I found it quite frustrating to have to keep reaching out just to get them to do what they really should have done in the first place. They never did a final walkthrough as I've seen other contractors do. No apology for destroying my garden. They have a Benjamin Franklin quote, "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten" - I definitely felt some of that bitterness throughout this process. My conclusion is that they are really excellent masons but do not understand or respect gardens. If you hire them, be prepared to have to deal with that.

I just wanted to take time out to praise the excellent work of Nick Rose and his business partner…read morefrom Rose Landscaping and Construction.  They did an absolutely amazing job of transforming our backyard from weeds and dirt to a lawn of beautiful Kentucky Bluegrass.  They also put in an eye-pleasing pine mulch bed under our evergreen trees where he felt grass would be difficult to survive.  Granted we have a small backyard but they were able to do this work in just two business days.  Nick is very honest in what his service can and can't provide.  He has a great, relaxed personality and the prices were reasonable.  Early on, he told me that he was shooting for the last week in April to get the work done and he was right on target.  I'm sure others have had great experiences with Rose Landscaping and Construction too, so please feel free to chime in.  Obviously I highly recommend Rose Landscaping and Construction.  You just can't go wrong, believe me. SHOUT OUT to TRUBLUE FENCING CO! We couldn't be more delighted with our new fence in Stoneham…read more Where to start? They truly care about providing quality work, both installers Jimmy and Dustin are proud of their workmanship, as they should be. Not all fence installers are the same. For one, it's crucial to dig 3 feet down to secure your fence and not all do. They were faced with tree roots, hidden bricks, bushes in the way and consulted with us as they went along, in event we had any concerns (like where the property line was). Owner Jim Puopolo manages the business side. They do not contract out. Installers Dustin and Jim are pleasant, enjoy what they do and have many many years of experience. They were able to get us the style of fence we wanted where other places we tried could not. Since they had to cut out some roots, there was a gap in one area and without asking, they put rocks to block, knowing we have dogs. Along with fence installation, they offer GUTTER INSTALLATION and POWER WASHING. TruBlue are a friendly team aimed to please. I highly recommend (857) 206-2947 http://www.trubluefencewakefield.com/

I kept being told this was a "small job" and there would not be any issues. They set only a few of my chain link fence posts in concrete. Most of the posts were left loose. All the post caps were loose and some were missing. Fence was not installed in straight lines. I got the feeling that my fence project was a learning tool for a crew of inexperienced installers to learn on. James had come back to my house to tell me that everything was going to be made right. Since that meeting it has been like pulling teeth to get them to come back to my house to complete the project. I had made the mistake of paying the whole price before the job was done. I did so because they seemed like honest contractors. It's been over a month and they still haven't been back to finish it. Wouldn't recommend hiring this company.
