GreenOp has been very professional. We have only been using them for our landscaping services for a few months, but the quality of service is the best I have encountered. I have used multiple services, and this is the first time I felt confident that the crew was treating our property like it was their own-- so respectfully and with attention to detail. The billing is great, too-- very transparent. So far, I am very impressed. I will update if anything changes. My yard looks fantastic. I could not do this myself. The crew is friendly and respectful of our property. I found their prices to be middle-of-the way and more reasonable than other companies. They do good work! read more

Exceptional service! Green Op is reliable, professional, and does beautiful work. Our driveway has never looked better after a storm. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable snow removal. Even helped clean off the cars. read more

As a first-time homeowner, vetting and hiring contractors is definitely the most stressful part of the process! GreenOp is a breath of fresh air. I've used Josh and his crew at GreenOp for a few different projects, and just hired them again to finish the design and landscaping of our backyard. Josh is responsive to questions and respectful of budgets, and his crew is professional, quick, and tidy. We've been really happy with the quality of work - after our first project with GreenOp, multiple neighbors came over to give compliments! When something doesn't go right, I also appreciate that Josh cares enough to fix it (he is about to replace some bushes that died after the first year, and had his crew come back to fix a fence installation that was fine, but not quite perfect). read more

Josh and his team are A+++++. Highly responsive and helpful when working within a budget. Can't recommend them enough! They did our fence and patio and we couldn't be happier read more

Nothing but mixed signals, are they no longer interested in taking new customers??? I'm feeling brushed off!!! I sent several text messages, I made several efforts to call Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday only to be ignored- a huge turn off as they can't be bothered to even reach out as a courtesy- AVOID at all costs & Use at your own risk. I'm Moving on to a more reputable company that takes pride in customer satisfaction read more

We had a very positive experience with GreenOp crew in 2022 and 2023. They did a beautiful job weeding, edging and mulching. They planted new trees for us in 2022 which have continued to grow beautifully. Their team worked efficiently and were very detail oriented. We are looking forward to working them this spring as well! read more

Josh did a fantastic job improving my small backyard patio. He presented a couple different design options, helped me get the most out of the budget I provided, and one year later has continued to respond to my emails when I have questions about keeping everything healthy/alive (I'm new to the world of gardening). Josh and his crew did an amazing job at our house. If you're looking for yard work, planting, or landscaping GreenOp will do an amazing job. When we moved into our new home in Dorchester, the front yard was a blank slate, and our backyard had a Japanese garden theme going on. Nine months later, our back yard was completely overgrown and our front yard was still plain. Neither my wife or I have green thumbs so we were in trouble. Josh came over to our place, listened to our concerns, thoughts, needs and figured out plantings for around our home. He had a vision for our front yard--planting bushes, flowers, a rhododendron and more--he knew how to turn the side yard into a great perennial garden, and he worked with us on getting our backyard back into shape. We wanted to plan a tree in the front yard and he suggested a dogwood, which will grow to just the right size. Initially, we had considered finding a landscape architect, but after talking to Josh, we realized we didn't need one. It was their busiest time of the year, but Josh and his crew were able to get started within a month of our first meeting. They did an amazing job weeding and extracting our dying plants and bushes. They took great care of our property. They even worked through multiple 90 degree days. Josh gave us clear instructions about how to water and care for all the new plants, how to recognize signs of trouble, and even helped us with watering when we were out of town for a couple of days. Our house and yard look great. I'm beyond pleased with Josh and his crew. As the plants keep growing and maturing, they just keep getting better. I smile every time I come home and see our awesome yard. read more

Josh from GreenOp was very responsive and professional and his team was fantastic - neat, professional and thorough. We have an area of our yard that we can not keep grass alive in - there is too much shade, water run off, it's a high traffic area and a dog and kids. In 14 years of troubleshooting this problem with LOTS of different landscapers, Josh is the only professional to brainstorm creative solutions so we can keep our yard beautiful and stop the madness. Josh suggested making the area a beautiful mulch garden with lots of shade tolerant plants that offer a variety of colors, heights and textures. His design was beautiful and realistic with our budget. We can continue to build on it and fill it in annually. It transformed our dirt pit that has been a money pit of seed and sod for years. Thank you Josh for your creativity and vision! We love it! They also tilled, added top soil/compost and seed to the areas of the yard we have had success so it will all come together in the spring! read more

GreenOp - a patio with a table and chairs - Landscaping Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Working with Josh and the Green Op crew was a great experience! We contracted Green Op to help with a total lawn renovation, including removing existing grass, establishing planting/flower beds and finally, laying sod throughout. Communication was great throughout, it was always simple to get in touch with any questions and Josh was onsite in the event we wanted to make last minute changes. In laying out the planting beds, Josh was very helpful in letting us know which plants/shrubs/trees/flowers would work and suggesting substitutions based on sun exposure, soil type, etc. We would highly recommend Green Op and we plan to work with them again in the future! read more

Wonderful to work with. Very knowledgeable about plants. Very reliable about coming when scheduled and doing all the work plus. Very flexible about changes in design and set up. We have used GreenOp for several years and have been very happy with their service. In addition to their regular maintenance, we have used them for two major projects in the last two years. Both our front yard and back which involved planting 11 trees, hardscaping (stone retaining walls), irrigation and sod. They did a fantastic job and we'd highly recommend them. read more

We first heard of JnJ from their business cards left at our 6-unit residential building. Our association was in need of landscaping services including a clean-up, planting, and ongoing maintenance. We were looking forward to supporting a budding local business. A member of the association as well as our property manager spoke with with Josh from JnJ. It took us a while to decide on the scope of services, and we received several quotes from Josh who was patient and responsive. We came to an agreement in early Nov 2017 and were told that JnJ would service our yard on Dec 2nd. The day came and went but they never showed up. Our property manager reached out and Josh rescheduled for the 16th. Again, that day came and went. No communication from JnJ until our property manager reached out again. JnJ "ran out of time for clean-ups for a handful of their properties" and that was the extent of the explanation received. Ultimately, JnJ was a no-show and had poor communication with scheduling. Would not recommend. read more

If you want the short version of a review: GreenOp didn't compete the work I hired them to do. Because of that, they offered to take an exact amount off the contract. But when it came time to actually issue me the refund, which amounted to about $60, they refused; instead saying they were comfortable just "calling it even". I'm not the only customer who has had issues with completion of work, scheduling and communication. Check the other reviews. Long version: I signed a landscaping contact with GreenOp in the summer of 2019 to take care of my property. Communication with the owner Josh was a little spotty, but I figured I could live with that. An important part of the contract was the Fall cleanup that GreenOp charged $395 for. As requested, I paid $305 of it as an upfront deposit. As Fall passed and winter approached, I became concerned that I hadn't heard anything about the scheduling date for the cleanup, so I called to check-in. No one got back to me. When I contacted them again in December asking why there was a delay in getting the cleanup done, Josh estimated that they might be able to get to it on January 15th. MIGHT. His exact words on my voicemail were "To be honest with you this happens almost every year." A Fall clean-up should happen by the beginning of winter, before there is too much snow on the ground. But although I was frustrated, I decided to let them (hopefully) compete the work in January. If they didn't, I'd get my deposit back and hire a different company in the springtime. GreenOp eventually did come, but did not compete the shrub/tree care portion of the job. Again, this was frustrating and disappointing, but not the end of the world. When I contacted them, the office manager emailed (in part), these exact words "Due to the fact the crew missed the pruning we will be voiding the last invoice (December ) in the amount of $122." That was fine with me, and would have zeroed my balance out. But Josh had forgotten that he agreed to change the number of mows in the contract from 8 to 7. So the cost of that extra mow was also due back to me. I had to exchange quite a few more emails with GreenOp's office manager to get on the same page about the math. But that wasn't her fault (she was actually quite pleasant to communicate with). The confusion was that Josh had forgotten that he'd adjusted my number of mows. Luckily, I never delete my text messages, so I was able to provide her a screenshot that served as evidence. After I outlined the math, she wrote "Thank you for your explanation it makes sense to me now." I was glad we were on the same page and thought the issue was resolved. But for some reason Josh still wouldn't authorize a refund. I obviously can't control what the company decides to do. But I have spent entirely too much energy going back and forth with a company that let me down by not doing the work when it was supposed to do it, and in the end couldn't even complete the job. Now Josh says that instead of just giving me the money I'm owed, he prefers to call me so we can talk about it. But what do we need to talk about? I have already invested too much time in this, and your office manager has already apologized on the company's behalf. You've had multiple opportunities to do what you were supposed to do. Just issue the refund. So I requested that instead of a phone conversation, they send me an email outlining the exact reasoning and math for denying me what is owed. I haven't heard back. What kind of company goes to such lengths to deny a customer $60? A company that you probably shouldn't trust with your money. And even if you do decide to to hire them, I wouldn't put down a large deposit on a Fall cleanup that they may never finish, since this kind of delay ".... happens almost every year." If you value getting what you paid for, you'll do a lot better with any of the other landscapers available in the area. I've already hired another company to come and do the job that GreenOp couldn't. read more

We recently were introduced to J n' J to do work at our home in Dorchester. Josh was easy to contact and responsive to our requests for work. He provided a fair price to clean our yard up and do some plantings for the Spring. Some of the work has been done and it looks great. BONUS that we did not know until last week, but they also plow in the winter! When we were getting nervous about Spring Storm 2016 last week he proactively reached out to us to offer plowing a a decent price. The storm was a dud, but finding the company has been great and we will continue to use them! read more

Josh and his team are as good as it gets! We are always so pleased with the work they do. We started using their services a few years ago at our old house to take care of the leaves in the fall and yard clean up in the spring. They did an amazing job and were always cautious to make sure the gates were shut so the dog wouldn't get out. We have since moved and have much larger landscaping needs including moving shrubbery, mowing, tending to the plants and so on. Josh is our man for the job and we are excited to have him work on it in the spring. He also gives us great tips and advice on what to do with our yard while keeping price in mind. read more

Josh is a rockstar. He always goes above and beyond to ensure my yard looks top notch. I love his system which sends out emails to give me a heads up as to when they are coming and then always follows up the service by a survey insuring everything was up to par. I can't say enough about this company. I met with Josh ( who was very professional) at the property that needed to be cleared of trees, brush and extremely over grown grass. He got back to me that same day with a quote that I felt was very reasonable. This was not going to be an easy job, but they did an amazing clean up of the yard. I would recommend J & J Yard Work to anyone who is looking for a reliable and professional company in the Boston area. Melinda R. 7/20/2017 read more

Green Ops does amazing work. Was a customer last year and renewed for this year. We used Josh last year for planting (a few bushes & large plants out in the back to create a 'green-screen', regular yard work (clean up in the spring and fall) as well as landscape (mowing/weeding). He & his crew were prompt, efficient and clean (no litter left over, etc.). I appreciate the text prompts to know when the crew is coming over and with the virus situation, appreciate it even more now. If there is a problem - e.g., last fall one of the guys broke an outside light - he let us know right away, as did Josh, to replace. Not a problem; these things happen and the communication was very professional. That's all you can ask. And that's why I'm renewing our contract. As of next week, I will be already cleaned up & ready for Spring! read more

GreenOp's Joshua is amazing:- my husband and I had a long conversation with him last year about our yard (which is when we became clients) - and some other things. I like that if I have a question or concern, I can shoot off an email and Josh himself responds! I am very pleased with GreenOp's service! read more

Our HOA was in dire need of dependable, reasonably-priced landscaping services - and we could hardly find a provider who would even return a phone call. Josh was super responsive from the get-go, got us a quote that perfectly matched our needs, and has been a delight to work with over the past two summers since. His team shows up when they say they will, does a fantastic job, and is conscientious about leaving no trace of clippings behind. Having GreenOps on the case has really stepped up our landscaping game - my neighbors and I are so pleased with how our property looks. We heartily recommend GreenOp. read more
