Went here last night with my family for restaurant week. People have spoken very highly of this restaurant so we figured we would give it a try. The meal was fantastic. I had filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. However, the reason I am giving this review 1 star is because during the duration of our meal I saw 4 cockroaches climbing up the wall behind our table. We notified our server who apologized profusely and as an apology gave us a bottle of wine on the house however none of us really needed a bottle of wine to drink. We are not big drinkers and already were drinking the other drinks we ordered. It's a shame because it really ruined our meal and we would have left but were already eating our meal at this point. I think this place really needs to figure out the bug problem because if I saw 4 I am certain that there are more. It was definitely disappointing since this restaurant is involved in restaurant week. read more

We stopped at Primavera coming off the highway driving to New Hampshire from Maryland. We were not sure what we where walking into as were just looking for a place to eat, but I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area as the food is of exceptional quality and the service is wonderful. read more

Although the food and service are excellent , the prices of the specials (which are not mentioned until you get the bill) are outrageous, almost twice the cost of anything else on the menu! The bill came to an unexpected $100 a person and we shared dessert and not everyone had wine. It's also a bit tight on the seating (not romantic if that's what you are looking for) and the horse mural doesn't seem to fit the decor. read more

My family has had numerous parties at Primavera including an 80th birthday party 85th birthday party and my baby shower. We have always been thrilled by the quality of the food, the service and the ambiance. Tonight we had dinner there and as usual a great and delicious time was had by all. We started with a selection of appetizers including the antipasti caldo, the calamari friti and the stuffed artichoke special... the portions were generous and the offerings were delectable. For the entree selections ordered included the Dover sole, the special veal chop, the scallopine tri funghi, and the scallopine Adriatico. Despite the generous portions, we all were happy to clean our plates, and my husband said the sole was "the best fish I've had in my life" Finally for desert we sampled the cannoli, tiramisu, and tartufo, and the owner sent the waiter in to over us after dinner drinks on the house. I would also say the cannoli was the best I've ever had, the shell was super crispy while still being delicate and the filling was perfectly flavored, and textured, creamy and sweet, without being too sweet! We stopped here looking for a light lunch. We split the clams orgenata as an app. We also shared the duck ravioli which was very rich. The service was excellent. No problem with sharing. The dishes came out divided. The clams featured a delicious sauce which we mopped up with the bread. The salumi plate was a nice touch. If we lived closer I would go back read more

I really wanted to give this place a better review but having been in the food service business myself, I just couldn't. Even out of sheer pity. I went there with my boyfriend tonight, Valentine's Day at 6 pm which needless to say, is not the highest traffic point in the night for dinner...the food was ok, didn't really come out hot but it was still tasty I'll give them that. The service was absolutely awful. There was just no excuse for it. They had a huge wait staff including help from management and the disorganization was unbelievable. It took a long time to get the entree, we were never offered drink refills, never offered coffee or tea, we had to ask 3 different people on 3 separate occasions for our check that when it finally arrived 25 minutes after asking, the bill was not correct. 2 cappuccinos were added to it...majority of the night they were coming over to us with random plates of food asking us if this is what we ordered. Most of the time it was not our order. They really need to pull themselves together and pay attention. If the service was even slightly better I would consider adding 2 more stars but it was just so inexcusable. read more

Though the décor needs serious updating, the service for a Tuesday night was excellent and the food was 4.5 stars. I was with others and everyone enjoyed their dishes. The house even bought a drink for everyone on the house. I would definitely return. read more

Had dinner last night in the front room of the main dining area. We have eaten in the bar many times and enjoyed it. But the young men who waited on us last night possessed the kind of charm and grace you would expect to find at a truck stop diner and they reeked of cigarettes to boot. read more

Probably closer to a 2.5; It's a fairly nice place, and on a Thursday night we were seated quickly. Attentive wait staff, but our waiter was way too suave. Just trying too hard to be cool, I could barely hear the guy when he spoke. The one beer that I wanted they were out of....what? Food was decent, but way overpriced. Dinner for two, just entrees and 3 glasses of wine total came to $125 including tip. Definitely not worth it. I might go back, but it won't ever be my first (or second...or third) choice in the area. read more

I've been there several times over the last few years. The food is always very good. On a recent Saturday night, the restaurant was full but the staff did not rush us (a party of four) as we talked and ate for 2-1/2 hours. Only slight negative was the server crossed over my plate to serve the person to my right. I could have bit his arm. Just a little unusual but I would definitely recommend Primavera. read more

My cousins meet monthly to dine together. Last night we chose Primavera; we had been there before because it is centrally located between Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties where we reside. We all eat out often, but last night was the worst dining experience all of us ever had. After our drinks were served, we waited 20 minutes before our waiter came back and he did so only after we sent two other waiters to get him. There were only two other tables with customers so it wasn't busy. One of my cousin's ordered the halibut which could be ordered two ways. She ordered it one way, he brought it the other way. She pointed this out to the waiter and he took the dish back. It came back in minutes because they had scraped off the first topping and added the second. It was watery and inedible. She didn't eat it. After the plates were cleared she asked to speak with a manager. The owner came over and she explained what happened. He said he was sorry, but he couldn't do anything to help. The waiter never came to our table once to see if we needed anything. When the check came, we paid out bill and remained to talk for about an hour. As we were getting up to leave, the waiter came over and said, "Oh, I was just going to offer you an after dinner drink." He waited until we were leaving even though he had been standing in the dining room the whole time. How insulting. We will never dine there again. read more

I can't say enough good things about the food, service, and staff at Primavera. I've been there several times and have held two luncheons there - my friends and family loved the food. I was there with my wife for valentines day it was a busy busy day in primavera we went to the bar first for a drink we were pleasley served from the bartender i think hes name was jack always smiling after we finished our drinks the manager came over to seat us on the table we sat down the waiter came right away our drinks were served right away on the table we got menus then the waiter told us a long list of specials which all sounded amazing i wanted to have a little of everything i ordered the crab meat my wife ordered the grill callamari it was so fresh we were suprized for main course i had ordered the branzino and my wife had the halibut it was out of this world for desert we had the chocalate sauce cake delicious i recomend this place to all my friends great food great managment great staff you feel like your in a 5 star resort cant wait to go back read more

Went there for early sunday dinner... great atmosphere, old house... looked at menu outside said looks good and went in Received menus & ordered drinks & 2 entrees when they came out one dish & it was wrong - very apologetic & had right order within 10 minutes, & gave us a comp glass of red meanwhile HOWEVER, when the bill came out the prices of the entrees on the slip were a full $10 (total) than what was on the menu !! I asked to see the menu, and they brought me a DIFFERENT menu than the one we ordered from !! Mgr or matre'd came over & explained it was their weekend menu which was more $$ than the other menu They didn't do a thing about it, I didn't feel like getting bent out of shape over what was a wash w/ the comp glass of wine paid & left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Ruined the whole experience, which was good otherwise. Drove away pissed The management's response to the menu fiasco was totally inexcusable.... can't say I'll ever go back read more

Perfect place to hold a special event! The wine cellar is beautiful and private and the service is excellent! I am a perfectionist and had expected to have to set up the room myself to insure it was perfect, but 4 plus very personable and professional wait staff members showed up ready to work and accommodate my requests with the response, this is what we are here for! Sam was assigned to manage the event and he was excellent and fit right in! He became part of the party/family!!! He has a warm personality, accomodated our every need and made a point to tell me to stop and look around at my party and to realize that all my hard work showed and that all who attended were enjoying themselves, making my event a success! What a nice thing to take time to do! It was my parent's 50th Anniversary and it was nice to hear and was truly a success! They Loved it, the guests Loved it and it was all I hoped for!The food was amazing ! Quality, Quantity and Presentation! Plan your next party here!
