Can't believe I haven't been here before,driving through Croton Falls, Brewster,etc. A quiet Monday night so no issue with service. Little antipasto plate was a nice surprise. No need for appetizers unless really hungry or you can split. Special drink menu had some good choices including reasonable split of prosecco. My friend had the ravioli....very fresh pasta with moist ricotta filling, maybe a little oversauced. I had the veal chop special,butterflied with fontina cheese and roasted red pepper...excellent!! Sides of julienne veggies and roasted potatoes were simple and neatly done. Carrot cake (moist, not heavy)and expresso great ending. Caution! Specials menu has no prices so beware! Or ask! $38 for veal chop felt a little out of line,especially since regular menu prices are fair. That cost them a 4th star read more

We end up at Primavera once or twice a year. On our last visit, the quality of service could only be described as amateurish. What was once jacketed, professional staff has devolved into something straight out of Applebee's. Two drink orders were forgotten, a bread request was ignored, servers auctioning off food and reaching across other diners to serve and clear when the table was accessible from all sides. Thumbs on plates, glasses handled from the top, main courses not served together and the Branzino is no longer plated tableside. Towards the end of the night the staff disappeared to play on their phones while we waited to order coffee. Finally the check was dropped without being requested. The food is very good, but the presentation is pedestrian.The coffee was watery. The main dining room is comfortable but a bit noisy when crowded. My family and I went here tonight to celebrate my sister's birthday and we had a lovely time. We made a reservation for the five of us. There is a valet and coat check and we were then seated immediately. Service was prompt and our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. While it was crowded (it was a Saturday night), the atmosphere was still relaxed and calm. I had the Penne Vodka, which was delicious! The food is on the pricier side but it is authentic and you're paying for great service. Make sure you make a reservation since it gets crowded. We would come back! read more

Ate here a few weeks ago with my mom and a friend and it was great. Both the food and the service was excellent. My friend has a gluten allergy and they were extremely conscious and accommodating. When we got there they gave us the option of 2 different tables, a booth or regular table. We chose the booth. The waiter brought both bread and antipasto to our table. (Olives, cheese etc) We were then told the specials and asked if we had any questions which is when my friend explained that she had a gluten allergy and the waiter said that they had gluten free pasta and asked if she had any other food allergies. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers Fried calamari/Calamari Fritti-Standard with a light tomato sauce on the side, I had asked for lemon beforehand and the waiter brought it out with the dish without me asking again. Could have been a bit less chewy and had more tentacles. *Special*Escargot in white wine-My mother was very pleased with this. It did not come in the standard escargot plate with 6 or so holes. It came on a flat plat with 12 or more. They were tender and very flavorful. Arugula salad/Insata di Arugula- my friend ordered this and wait is was very good and the dressing was light yet tasty. What was also nice was that when she ordered was that the waiter made a point to say that there are walnuts on it and if she was ok with that. She was and they were delicious :) Entrees *Special*Gemelli pasta (green & white) with shrimp and asparagus in vodka sauce- this was excellent. The shrimp were well cooked and the pasta was al dente. I also liked that the tails were removed from the shrimp. I prefer it when they are if the shrimp are in sauce. I know some people don't. *Special*Zuppa de Pesce with whole lobster (in or out of shell) over linguine-my friend got this with gluten free pasta and she chose the lobster in the shell. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. There was also a huge amount of other seafood on the plate. She was able to even take some clams, mussels, shrimp and lobster home. Wild mushroom ravioli with mushroom cream sauce- again excellent. Perfectly cooked pasta and the filling was delicious. Dessert Zabaglione with strawberries- this was made fresh in the dining area. It was amazing. When it came it had cookie crumbles sprinkled on top (my mom ordered the dessert) and immediately the waiter remembered that my friend had a gluten allergy and said he would bring another. She said it was ok that she wouldn't eat it but he said we could keep that one and eat it and he made another for her with no cookie crumbles on top. It was extremely nice and considerate of him to do that. We hadn't said we wanted to share the dessert but he knew we would have. This was one of the best overall restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. I can't wait to go back. The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. Horrible. The riggatoni bolognese had way too much nutmeg and the peas were not cooked. . Steak fries served with the Veal Primavera??? Really? My wife had veal chop with rissoto which was also served with steak fries. Fruit flies or nats appeared mid meal and my wife spent her time waving them away. We didn't bother to complain. Slow service, severely overpriced entree's! Food was average. We were the first diner's of the evening, we were there 2 hours. We didn't have appetizers, soup or salads. The waiter we had was so rude. Not only was he blatantly in a terrible mood, but when one person's meal came long after everyone else's (10 minutes at least) and then it came out wrong on top of that, he did NOT apologize and instead acted like it was an inconvenience to him! I was shocked. But what's worse is the food is awful and overpriced. No one was happy with what they got, everything was described differently on the menu than how it came out. Pasta drenched in flavorless sauce with a vegetable here and there is not worth $20+. I would have complained but the waiter never came around to ask how the meal was. Not the best, not the worst, its OK but we expected more for the money. The service was not as attentive as we would have liked although the staff is friendly which is nice. I think there is room for improvement. We will try this place again in the future and see what we think. read more

Would never go back there, even if the food was free. Specialty dessert is the Banana Foster. Took my family there just for this reason. It is made right at your table. When our waiter first came to our table we told him that is why we were there. After dinner plates were cleared, we waited and waited for dessert menus (waiter kept ignoring us). Finally after 20 minutes we called over the manager to get menus. 10 minutes later our server came to take our order. When we ordered the Banana Foster he told us they just ran out. The table next to us just had theirs made as we watched. On a Saturday night to run out of your specialty dessert at 9pm is bad enough. To ignore a table and then afterwards tell them that the no longer have the dessert is insulting. In addition, my wife's salad was full of carrots. The salad wasn't supposed to have carrots. She sent it back. Other items were mediocre at best. Stay Away! read more

My third time having a meal here. Bronzino is fantastic, bolonese is great, also had seafood pasta last time around. Staff is very friendly and love the atmosphere with the old colonial style house. I've eaten here twice. Dinner; artichoke special app., Branzino (whole fish) which they boned away from the table. I would have liked to see this done at my table side...seemed not much meat came off the large fish. The app & entree were good. The Zabaglione was not so good; tasty but thin...but that's 'cause I compared it with the Zabaglione at Giambelli's 50th, NYC. For some reason I did not have strawberries so I had bananas in it; my bad. I do not recall why I did not have the strawberries. Giambelli's Zabaglione, they do not add fruit & it is thicker. Lunch for my B-day in Feb. 2016: with my mom & sis; artichoke app again for me...forget what they ordered. The 3 of us ordered the scallops with risotto. I had heard it was very good from another customer. It was good & I would order it again. Don't recall what we had for dessert. The wait staff were courteous & attentive...even had a bit of conversation with my server when I ate there for dinner. I really have no complaints about the place (which is rare). We live in Somers and have been looking for an upscale "fine" Italian restaurant for quite some time. A friend recently recommended Primavera so we decided to give it a try. The food was upscale fine Italian food, the service was outstanding and the ambience was fabulous. They also have a wonderful bar where you can order food and a screened in porch to dine or have drinks. We absolutely loved everything about Primavera. This is going to be our new "go to" place for dinner and drinks. One of the best restaurants in the area. read more

Roaches! Avoid at all costs. We had an awful experience at this restaurant. As our food arrived a roach the size of my thumb crawled right across the wall. If they are in the dining room in the middle of the day can you imagine how it is at night or in the kitchen? Could not eat a bite of our food....so disgusted. Staff apologetic but no offer to compensate except to give us a sambuca...really? We did not touch our food. We should have walked out without paying but had our 82 year old Mom with us and did not want to upset her. Avoid this place at all costs. They also scammed us by saying we had to order from the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week dinner menu although they confirmed by phone they were open and honoring HVRW for lunch. Bad business on so many levels. I understand now why it was completely empty. read more

Olive Garden with a valet service I have to agree with the previous poster who mentioned Rraci it's much better first we started with the escargot which were mushy not firm and horribly presented for the mains the lady has duck ravioli which did not come out hot and I had the linguine with white clam sauce which was not much better than something I could get at a pizzeria this place was a bust read more

After 3 great dining experiences at Primavera we struckout last night. The waiter was arrogant and his answer to my wife regarding the brand of wines by the glass was that they came from a big bottle. He pushed buying by the bottle, but since we had 80 miles to home we did not want to partake in a full bottle. He rattled off the additions to the menu dropped off a glass of wine I ordered and never reappeared. After 20 mins. We left $10.00 on the table and exited. went to this restaurant for a birthday party last year and was very impressed . then went for an office party and was also impressed. then just went for my family christmas dinner and was floored . the food and service was fantastic. the waiters and matre' d could not be more helpfull. if you wanted something all you had to do was ask , even if it wasnt on the menu. i will try to have a reason to go back as soon as i can. if for any reason you have to take your family or friends for a dinner please go here and you will be impressed as well as them. While the food was fine, the service was not. We were seated and placed our orders. When the food arrived arrived, the kitchen staff came out with several items on their trays our meals were placed. Unfortunately, my meal was not what I had ordered. Our waiter, looked at it, said nothing, rolled his eyes, picked up the plates, turned around, and set them down in front of the customers at the table next to us. OK, a mistake. But then he looked to the staff for our orders....and the meals that remained were still wrong. Again, he said nothing to us - only spoke to his staff and left. 45 minutes after arriving, our meals finally came out and were correct. The food was good, but the fact that the waiter did not even acknowledge the mistake or the fact that we had to wait for the correction, left a bad taste in our mouths - making it difficult to appreciate the meal. Had he even said "we are sorry for the delay" or "can we offer you a complimentary glass of wine while you wait for the meals to be prepared again?"....any attempt to address the situation would have gone a long way. We dine out often - the food is important but without good service the experience can be ruined - as it was for us at Primavera. read more

Made reservations several months ago for a holiday party. Was told we would have a side room for the amount of people. Day before went to confirm and owner refused to accommodate my party with the side room. We had put a deposit down and was going to pay 65.00 a person. Owner had attitude like he could care less. The food was 5 stars, the prices - 4, the service - 1 star. The waiter was so snooty, we half expected him to throw the plates in our face. No oil with our bread. Put Absolut on rocks in our bill in place of orange juice. A group of six waiters stood next to me and my girlfriend in the bar and commented on a game on tv with loud f$&ks. Disappointing. We came on a Sunday night, at 7:30 pm. The dining room was about 2/3 empty. We were seated at a 2 - top with 1 bread plate and a dirty table cloth. We both ordered from the daily special menu. The arugula salad was the only salad special; 4 ingredients. Our salads had only 3. Arugula, fresh but unripe pear slices, and 2 strips of roasted red pepper right out of a jar. When I asked about the candied walnuts, the server looked mystified, went into the kitchen and came back a while later with a plate of plain shelled walnuts. We both ordered fish, which was served with the same uninspired mixed vegetables and some plain roasted potato chunks. The presentation was non-existent. $35 for those entrées. For that price, I expect some culinary professionalism, not the product of a diner line cook. The fish was fresh and cooked well. Clearly, whomever is in the kitchen just doesn't care. This was a disaster. Mrs. Soy took away my restaurant selection privileges for six months based on tonight's fiasco. The menu prices online are much lower than on the premises. My Veal Adriatico was $23 online and $28 in person. I still wanted it. I also wanted a martini, which was $10 online but $12 in person. I wanted that too, but the charge on the bill was $13. I questioned the waiter who said that that was the price. We looked at the menu as we left and it was $12, as we thought. Could he not have just apologized rather than scammed us out of a buck? The veal was mediocre and Mrs. Soy's chicken was bland. The waiter who took our order was not the waiter who brought out the entrees. Waiter #2 had to ask us who ordered which meal. At $28 for a small entrée portion, I expect better service. We also asked waiter #2 for a second basket of bread (four small pieces). He rushed back out and left the bread at another group's table, and it was clear that they were surprised. Neither waiter #1 nor waiter #2 came out in time to bring us bread. I asked about it when our meals were almost done and with one bite left on my plate, the bread came out. Service was a mess and the entrees were so-so. I caution everyone reading this to expect, as one other reviewer eluded to, an Olive Garden experience at a Four Seasons price. Unless they up their game, I predict they'll be gone by the of 2019. read more

I'm not sure if this is a restaurant or a catering hall. Either way, I have tried to dine here three times and every time I was told there was a private event and that I had to sit in the empty bar area. The decor and building are old and dated. The service is not great. The salad I ordered was missing components. The food was overpriced for what it was. I have ordered better prepared dishes in more enjoyable atmospheres in Manhattan, Yonkers, Scarsdale, white plains, you name it, for that price. I did get take out here once because I was dreading having to sit in the bar area yet again and I did end up enjoying that experience much more due to the fact I was in the comfort of my own home at a nice big fancy table. I want to like this place because of the menu but what you read leads to disappointment when the dish arrives. read more

Excellent food and service! We recently hosted my daughters baptism party for over 50 people and it was outstanding.

Very good quality food if not a little overpriced. The whole restaurant is a large old house. The bar area is very small and gets cramped quickly. The main room is large and very tightly packed. The smaller side rooms are more intimate. No tap beer on my last visit and the bottle selection was terrible, nothing but typical American lager (coors, bud, amstel, heineken). This is a high end restaurant in westchester. At least get some Captain Lawrence on tap or in bottles. Anyway... Immediately after being seated, 2 baskets of warm bread were brought to the table as well as a nice plate of antipasto- chunks of cheese, hot peppers, small slices of various meats such as salami, olives, etc. The waiter went through such a long list of appetizers and entrees that it was impossible to consider them all. It was almost a 2nd menu. They really should be on a sheet inserted in the menu. I was with a group of 7 others and we shared a few appetizers. Lump crabmeat was fresh and large clumps served with cocktail sauce and fresh horseradish. Grilled calamari was tender and flavorful which is rare when grilled. Escargot was very tender and earthy, served in a delicious sauce but not too much of it which was good. Those were both specials. For dinner I had the Scaloppine Primavera which was delicious. Very very thin and tender veal cutlets and the shrimp sauce had a few nicely sized shrimp with it. Quite a few of my friends had a Veal chop special and everyone really enjoyed it. I stepped up and ordered the cannoli for dessert. I was pleasantly shocked to have it arrive with 2 large freshly filled cannoli. We shared them and a nice big bite was enough to make everyone happy. Overall a very nice meal at a very nice restaurant but a little pricey. read more

Just had dinner at Primavera for a birthday celebration and Restaurant Week with a group of 10. Most of us ordered off the special menu. The filet mignon, salmon and chicken specials all had great reviews. The peppercorn cognac sauce on the filet mignon was excellent. Service was great and I would definitely return again.
