I came in to get an order for bloodwork that should've been faxed last week and the place I went for lab work had no record of this at all. I came into the office to pick up said order and PEACH, the girl with the attitude sitting on the LEFT-closest to lab window was absolutely ridiculous. She rolled her eyes, was giving the nastiest looks when I asked to speak to the office manager. The office manager also got loud with me because I didn't know the girls name!!! I am so upset with this office & my doctor. I have been a patient here for 43 years. Ever since the founding physician opened his first office. I requested a signature so I can get my handicapped placard renewed & I got charged $25 for a lousy signature that takes 2 seconds to perform. I wasn't asking for George Clooney's signature for gosh sakes! Plus, on my previous visit a few weeks back, I waited a combined 1.5 hours to be seen & then got rushed through! Dr. Brad has been my family doctor, and my family's doctor, for years. He has taken care of my mom, father, grandmother and cousins. His wife, now retired, was my God-daughter's pediatrician. When Dr. Brad (who I consider like family at this point) was unavailable, Dr. Gershberg, Destani and Hsieh are also phenomenal. I highly recommend this office if you're searching for a doctor. I am writing this review in hope of an actual follow up. I have called Primary Care Associates to get my daughters medical records serval times now. I paid for them. I gave them almost 50 days. No follow up. When I call they keep telling me someone will follow up and call me but no one does. Dr. Lori Weiss is retired otherwise I would've still been a patient there. No-showing for 45 minutes past appointment time (or presumably ~65 minutes if I had continued to wait), in this case without any staff, much less the doctor themselves, dropping by to update me on the status of the appointment, isn't really a justifiable practice for any business, including medical practices. Your statements: "However, there are some appointments that require a bit more time," doesn't acknowledge any sort of responsibility, and "We are sorry to hear you were not happy with your experience" is the stereotypical non-apology shifting the focus from your staff and / or Dr. Destani's professional conduct to my "feelings." This review is intended for others shopping for a primary care physician, but if it wasn't clear from my original message, I won't be pursuing business with your group going forward, and I encourage those shopping for medical care to consider other options if available. Beyond my main grievance, there are a couple of other issues regarding the visual presentation of the office that set off red flags for me. First, a sign visible to customers, but presumably aimed at front desk administrative staff along the lines of "You don't have to be crazy to work here, we'll train you." The immediate purpose seemed to convey that management has a sense of humor, yet it is specifically gallows humor about office conditions and employer-employee relations. Second, the layout of the offices is loft-style, no ceilings, air ducts exposed, etc. The main walls are red brick, and the examination rooms are sparse and cramped, with room for an examination bed, one chair and nothing else. To me, it exuded an assembly line aesthetic under the plausible deniability of urban chic. read more

I went to my follow up! So happy I have found Dr. Wainer and his staff. They also have an online portal, which I like, so he can upload, track and monitor my medical history and then we can discuss based on what he reads. Very professional staff and a nice location. I like that they schedule people with plenty of time so there are no long waits. I didn't feel rushed; I felt like Dr. Wainer really cared and spent the necessary time with me to really understand my complete medical history and current health status. I have an interesting history and ongoing medical issue so I need someone to work alongside me in reading and keeping up on all my records and working with me to find the best solution. Dr. Destani is the smartest, most decent human. He listens to everything that is said before making an assessment. He knows doctors who specialize when he refers you because he maintains relationships with them. I trust him because he reads current medical literature and is up to date on all of it. Great doctor! 5 stars for Dr Lori Weiss & 5 stars for Dr Brad Wainer My daughter has been seeing Dr Weiss for 6 years now. Being a mom of 3, my eldest being 18 y/o and my youngest is 8, This doctor is amazing!! Very thorough and on top of things. Your child will be beyond well cared for with Dr Weiss. If there is any slightest chance something may be wrong..she will get to the bottom of it to have it checked out. Dr caught my daughters hashimotos (hypothyroidism) at the age 3. She has scanned and found food allergies at a young age. If any levels are elevated on lab results, she takes further steps to be on the safe said. Also, she follows through like no other dr I've ever had!!! She provides an app to text directly to her one on one. A very personal doctor. My daughter is comfortable with her too. I wish I found her sooner when my boys were younger. I found out Dr Weiss because my husband & I personally see Dr Brad Wainer which she is his wife & my husband knew what a great pediatrician she is because he's been seeing Dr Brad since he was a child! Dr Brad Wainer is also amazing!! Very thorough and genuinely caring guy!!!! He is quick to responding to Portal messages. The Lab techs are an outside company- they seem hit or miss. Both my sons have been Dr Weiss patients since they were born. I love her and so do my kids. She explains everything perfectly and offers options and takes into consideration all of our concerns. She always get the diagnosis right and will go a step further if anything is slightly off in the results. She answers quite promptly all my emails. She is the best. As for myself, Dr Gershberg has been my dr for many years and has always been so pleasant. His bedside manners always put me ease and we go over every single detail of my issues. I have been coming to Primary Care for over 20 years. Dr Brad Wainer is always attentive to you as a patient. My routine check ups have saved my life. When there is an issue l get a call even later in the evening. How many doctors do that. When I got married I had my husband change to Dr Brad too. Because of his through checkup and testing he found a health issue with my husband that probably saved his life. Love the patient portal too. read more

I took my daughter to see Dr. Lori Weiss after seeing good reviews for her online...All was going well until I dared say I wanted to refuse certain vaccines for ethical and moral reasons. Then she became condescending and spoke to me as if I was too incompetent to make a good decision for my 1 month old baby. Just another doctor using fear and false information to justify her practice of shooting up babies with heavy metals. (Read the vaccine ingredients before you argue with me on this.) At no point did she point out the increasingly obvious risks of vaccination. (Read the inserts on the vaccine vials.) I should not be judged for my choice of what goes in my daughter's body, regardless of whether its safe or not. Needless to say, I didnt take her back. read more

If I'd written this 4 years ago I would have given them 5 stars... but once the Wainers got too busy with outside interests this place went down hill. I started out seeing Dr Brad and I really liked him. Great, caring bedside manner... and willing to work with me and not plug me full of pills. Unfortunately it got harder and harder to make an appointment with him so I tried a different doc. Friends told me not to see Dr Hseih but I saw him once on an urgent needs visit and found him to be pleasant but curt, so I gave him a shot. Long story short, he refused to share blood test results with me over the secure internet portal as Dr Brad always did. He wanted me to come into the office in order to get them, just so he could bill my insurance company is my assumption. Plus he wanted to run tests that Dr Brad had already run and ignored me when I pointed that out. I don't like greed or playing games when it comes to my health and I'm going to another practice. And the office staff is horrendous... nothing like being rude to people after they've been on hold or waiting at the check in desk for 10 minutes. I don't like going to the doctor in the first place, and these broads make everything from scheduling the appointment to checking in to setting up follow up appointments a miserable experience. I'm not going to miss them. So far I'm very happy with the Elmhurst Clinic in Oak Park. read more

I love my doctors. Every doctor here is knowledgable, nice and caring. That's key. The best doctors would be Drs. Brad Wainer, Gary Wainer (brothers) and Dr. Sheila Berndt. The nursing staff are also very good. The problem; however, is trying to make an actual appt to see a doctor. To call here and make an appt, you have to be on the phone for 10-20 minutes at any given time. Once, I had been on hold with them for 25 minutes and walked over to the office at the same time in order to get an appt. The front desk was flabbergasted when they saw me. Not a good sign. If they would just fix their answering time, I would definitely give them more stars. read more

I don't understand why the owners of this business think that it's OK to allow people to do construction while there are patients inside....? When I do construction on a house, or when I'm working on a car, or if I'm working in a warehouse... I wear earplugs because I care about my ears and my hearing. I take care of my body. I saw Dr. Brad Wainer yesterday for a nagging cough. Yep, pneumonia. This was my first visit - and before he got down to the nuts and bolts of my visit he asked me about my life, overall wellness, family. Really great bedside manner. I was immediately comfortable asking questions, and super sensitive about the questions I had. I'd recommend him hands down. And I did, in fact. My husband is also sick and will be visiting today. As for the office staff - they're not warm and friendly, like I have experienced at other offices. But I don't have any complaints! read more

Dr Brad Wainer has been my primary for as long as I can remember. maybe 20+ years. Both my wife and son are also patients of his and came on board as they saw the excellent care and advice that he provided to me over the years. I am a 60 plus typical male that should have taken better of myself over the years but with Dr Wainers help I am much healthier and leading a productive and active life. He isn't afraid to call in specialists when needed and asks for any reports and evaluations from my eye and foot specialists plus others doctors who have come into my life. This way he can coordinate meds and correct therapy. I can safely say I trust Dr Brad with my family and my life in terms of medical conditions and would recommend him highly. read more

Dr. Lori Weiss is our pediatrician for our two young kids. We have been seeing her for almost 3 years now, and we have been very pleased. Sometimes the wait time is long, which is a bit annoying since you never know how long you'll be there, but really that's my only complaint, and to be honest, I never feel rushed by her when she does come in late (or even on time). Dr. Weiss is so thorough and compassionate and really makes the kids (and me!) feel at ease. She has made some wonderful referrals to specialists for both my kids, and is very well connected and knows who the right specialist should be to see your child. Dr. Nejat Destani is one of their doctors. I would not recommend having him as your doctor. This is why: So i went to their office to get a tb test. I went back for the results and he concluded it was a positive result just because there was redness but no induration. I told him i saw no induration nor felt any inflammation. He then responded "induration means redness" and then he ignored me. He was very rude and obviously doesn't know anything about that tb test. I also asked to see another doctor in the front desk and they told me if i wanted a second opinion i should go to the tb clinic they referred me to. read more

This review is related to my experience with Dr. Lori Weiss as my son's pediatrician. You would be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable, comprehensive, or responsive physician for your child. I have nothing but the most wonderful things to say about Dr. Weiss. She recognized a significant issue with my son that was missed by every other doctor that he saw for the first 9 months of his life. He ended up requiring surgery and Dr. Weiss was above and beyond helpful and responsive to our needs, worries, and concerns. She helped us so much at such a difficult time of the year (this occurred a few weeks before Christmas through mid-January) when offices were closed and people were on vacation. She was always right there to help us and responded timely to every inquiry. She even was able to put us in contact with another family who went through a similar situation. Since then, she has continued to be supportive and responsive despite the crisis of a surgery being over. I am so very grateful to have her as my son's physician. I am a first time mom and it eases my mind knowing I have such a wonderful doctor to help me navigate my child's healthcare and development. She is so efficient, caring, and knowledgeable I feel safe with my precious little boy in her hands. I could not recommended someone more confidently than I do Dr. Weiss. read more

Excellent group of caring doctors with a fine chair side manner. But, I agree with the other person when they say it takes a long time to get someone on the phone to make an appointment. It was easier and faster to drive over there. However, I did use their email and they called me within 20 minutes and the voice was male. That must be a new one or they added to the office staff. Great people here. If you are looking for a reliable place with great doctors and friendly staff, this is it. I'd make this five stars, and want to very badly, but I always need to schedule an appointment AT LEAST a month in advance =( To be fair, this is because I always want Dr. Berndt. A few of the other Doctors are easier to get an appointment with, but she is SO wonderful. This means that when I am ever sick and need an appointment asap, I can't get my usual Doctor, which kind of blows. Besides that, though, GREAT office. I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Matthew Hsieh for several years now. I have no major health issues, but for my annual exams and my husband's once-every-five-year exams, they do the job.
