At a personal level I really enjoy seeing her, and she is easy to trust. She is, however, lacking on the thorough analysis of issues, and not great at all on the pediatric end of things -that being said, she does not advertise as such. Sadly, my family has noticed massive differences in treatment based on the quality of our insurance (better and more thorough when the insurance is good, less attentive when you self-pay). This was underlined by 3 things, 1) Dr Manus' patronizing comments during consultation. 2) her office literally forgetting about any kind of checkups/follow ups for you or the kids when your insurance is "not good" but doing it when it is. 3) An effort to collect fees for things nobody does. Unfortunately I have observed this enough that I don't believe it's a random event. I am sure some of these shortcomings are a result of the economic pressures this doctor's office is under. Unfortunately I am in no position to properly control the "quality" of my insurance, and yes, I understand doctors have bills to pay.

Sadly, I have moved out of the area and will no longer be seeing Dr. Manus. I have been a patient…read moreof hers at Lake Street Family Physicians for 13 years and the thought of having to find another doctor is daunting. Dr. Manus is patient and will listen to every concern you have no matter how small, and she is extremely knowledgable. I like that she doesn't over-prescribe medication, and always lets me know about different courses of treatment. She is sensitive and kind and just a wonderful person. My mother and brother have also been patients of hers and were similarly pleased. I cannot recommend her enough. The reception staff is efficient and if I have a health concern and am unsure of whether to get an appointment a nurse will always call me back that day and normally within an hour or two. They also will not hesitate to tell me if I don't need an appointment, which is great because it saves me the hassle and $ of having to come in. I have never had a billing or insurance issue and despite having changed insurances several times every PPO I have ever had has been in network. Note that this office does not accept HMOs, however. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait between the time when you see the nurse and when the doctor comes to the room. But usually this is not the case. In 13 years of visits (about 3 times/yearly) I only recall them running very behind on a handful of occasions. Overall the wait time has been consistently reasonable, and I am usually in and out of there in under 45 minutes. Parking is somewhat inconvenient as it is everywhere in downtown Oak Park, but there is a village parking structure nearby that is free for the first two hours on week days.

I could not believe what a difference it was walking into this doctor's office versus my previous one. Everyone was friendly and extremely efficient. Dr. Hamidani first asked a few questions about me and my lifestyle to get to know me and talk to me. I've never had a doctor spend 45 minutes in the room actually concerned about what's going on in your life; this really meant a lot to me. The care and compassion this office shows its patients is not like anything I've ever seen. If you're looking for a doctor that actually cares about your wellbeing I would suggest coming here.

Worst experience I've ever had with a medical office. The lab staff and receptionists were…read moreextremely unprofessional -- they rushed me off the phone, didn't listen to my concerns, and repeatedly miscommunicated information to the doctor. When I tried to ask questions about serious side effects from a prescribed medication, I was spoken to rudely and even yelled at. I've personally known someone who died from complications due to medication side effects, so I take this seriously. I called the office seven times trying to get a safer alternative, and each time I was either ignored, misunderstood, or given another medication with severe side effects. Instead of showing concern, they made me feel like a burden for simply wanting treatment that won't put my health at risk -- especially considering my age and medical history. I was brought to tears by how I was treated. I am absolutely done with this office and will never return. It's clear that they prioritize speed over safety, do not take individual risks or age into account, and have no interest in genuinely communicating with or supporting their patients.

At the time she was off of North Avenue, but she moved to a more convenient Oak Park off of Lake St. I have to tell you that she is NOT the type of doctor that keeps you waiting in the reception area for 30+ minutes and then spends 5 minutes w/ you before flushing you out of the room. She comes in, sits down and starts a dialogue of how you're doing/feeling and if there were any questions for her. Her bedside manner, as it were, is perfection. She's very welcoming and you feel immediately at ease talking with her. She is amazing. In a time when doctors rush through their appointments, I feel lucky that I didn't have that experience. On top of that, after my last visit the turnaround time for getting my test results was incredible - he reached out to me in less than 24 hours! My only complaint about this access location is that it can be hard to get an appointment because they're often booked up way in advance. Apparently this is because they're supposed to have three doctors working there full time but right now they only have two. This is obviously not my doctor's fault but hopefully they can get a new doctor working there soon, and hopefully that doctor is as good as Dr. Creary!
