Their insurance/billing department isn't the best. Some procedures require approval from your insurance which is understandable. The problem is that they'll tell you they'll call you once insurance approves so we can proceed and they never call you back. You would give them enough time to then call them and either things have already been approved or, they have not started the process. The receptionist lady is passive aggressive when asked certain questions regarding this. I get it, she's probably tired of this but also, it's not the patient's fault either. We're here in PAIN and it seems like they let work sit and wait for the patient to call so they could move on it. Everywhere else I go, they'll contact my insurance for approval and turnaround is usually about 2 days max but here, about a week, two weeks and ever longer. At one of my visits the lady receptionist didn't check me in till 45 minutes after my arrival and good thing the doctor noticed and was on it. Yesterday morning I called them because again, waiting for insurance to approve pain injections. The receptionist was passive aggressive and sighing as if this was my fault and said she'll speak to the doctor about it and hung up on me after. I had told her I would like to get this done by this week since I will have another insurance and that probably won't kick in till a couple of weeks or who knows how long and here I am IN PAIN because the meds given to me or PT hasn't been making any improvements with my issue. I also remember several times patients calling them saying they never received a callback from them regarding anything the office had to reach out to them. Receptionist would claim they did call but it's interesting the pattern of several people saying the same thing which makes me believe the patients and plus, here I am finding myself being on top of them as if I work there. I have not received any calls from the office and at this point I don't even feel like calling them and dealing with the receptionist while am in PAIN so decided to write this review so others could be aware of things that may happen when visiting this place. UPDATE: 2 days after leaving my review. I have not received a call from anyone at this office. I decided to call my insurance and they told me they just received the request from them today and they approved it right away for me to get my injection shots for my PAIN. I called their office and told them I have not heard back from them and the receptionist placed me on hold and came back asking me what time tomorrow I would like to go it. My theory was right all along about this place. The leave the patient's information just laying on their desk and do nothing about it unless you call in and they'll blame insurance or anyone else to cover up their actions. Thankfully because I was on top of them, I'll be able to get my shots before my current insurance ends. To say the least, this shows lack of consideration and is also HORRIBLE on their part given the circumstances patient's are enduring and the trust they give them.

It literally had me in tears by the time I gotten to my car. I'm writing this review with the hopes It can be a step toward making sure others don't experience the same treatment, and even prompt this facility to reassess their practices. I arrived on 10/28 at 2:42 PM for my 2:45 PM appointment to see Dr. Mann for the progressively worsening pain in my neck/ back / shoulder/ elbow & both hands . I promptly filling out the required paperwork and returning it to the receptionist, I was asked to wait. After waiting for approximately 15 min, I approached the receptionist to ask if Dr. Mann was running on time. I was assured that he was and was told to continue waiting. Ten min later, I inquired again and received the same response. At 3:17 PM, I was finally brought to an exam room, where an assistant took my blood pressure, which was noticeably high. I asked how high, she said 167 over (and I didn't hear the rest).I waited an additional 10 min. in the exam room before I returned to the receptionist area to inquire about the delay. One receptionist was kind enough to check on the doctor and informed me that he was on his way. I was taken to a different Room by the lovely male assistant. I'm guessing Dr. Mann finally received my paperwork as he had questions which he asked the male assistant to ask me. The assistant walked back and forth 2 times to deliver my responses to him. I had to ask, why did he not just come into the room and ask me these questions in person. When Dr. Mann did enter the room, there was NO apology or acknowledgment of the long wait. Instead, his demeanor was brusque and unwelcoming, which made me feel as if my time and health concerns were inconsequential. Rather than addressing my questions directly, he seemed annoyed, and when I mentioned the delay, he dismissed my concern by saying, "No one goes to a doctor and be seen at the exact appointment time." He further went on to insisted he was not late as I was taken into the exam room and seen By who! the assistant who ONYL took my blood pressure while texting on her phone. Additionally, despite my elevated blood pressure, he neither acknowledged it nor offered further guidance, which left me feeling as though my health was not being taken seriously. How could you allow a patient to leave with elevated blood pressure levels. He then said there are other patients he was seeing. Fine, not an issue. I was just asking to be communicated with. I told him he had poor bedside manners and it went even more left. He even told me I'm not making the situation any better. I asked how long will this visit take as he was 45 min late. He then insisted again he was NOT late and with an attitude stated "as long as I wanted it to" Pardon, how do you tell a patient that. This interaction ended after two minutes. He stormed out the exam room left me behind & headed directly to the front desk and stated abruptly "she can leave". As a health care professional we take an oath to do no harm. Waiting for so long without updates, feeling dismissed, and dealing with a lack of empathy can make a difficult situation so much harder. Healthcare providers should show compassion, professionalism, and respect and no one should have to leave an appointment feeling worse than when they arrived. For me it was the lack of communication and empathy from that initial receptionist and doctor. I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect both timely care and basic courtesy, and neither of these should be compromised, especially in a healthcare setting. I think we all deserve a healthcare provider who prioritizes not only our physical health but also treats you with the respect and compassion every patient deserves. Deceptive Billing, Unnecessary Blood Tests, and Public Humiliation…read more I scheduled my appointment through the clinic's website, which clearly stated the $300 fee included both the medical exam and completion of Form I-693. When I arrived, the receptionist confirmed this. Even the doctor told me--without me even asking--that the $300 covered both the appointment and the documentation. He said a blood test might be an additional charge and necessary to complete my I-693 which I agreed. I had already provided proof of all required vaccinations, and blood test that I got in another clinic and my insurance paid for it, so there was no medical reason to run any tests. Still, they mentioned one specific blood test, but then performed a different one that I did not need. When I returned to receive my results, I was suddenly told I had to pay another $300 to complete the documentation(form I-693) completely contradicting what both the website and staff had previously confirmed. When I questioned it, the receptionist began yelling at me in front of the entire waiting room and refused to finalize my paperwork unless I paid again. It was deeply unprofessional and humiliating. After leaving, I called the clinic to clarify. They told me the website was "wrong," and that the true cost was $300 for the exam and another $300 for the form (I-693) something never disclosed at any point. I requested a detailed, itemized bill showing the charges for both the appointment and filling the form but they refused. All they offered was a basic credit card receipt. When I finally received a billing summary, through email they cc two more people who could see all my bill and personal information, however they didn't disclose the charges and instead just sent me a total of due without specific information, so i had to request a disclosed bill and when I got it,they were charging me for hepatitis b, varicella and MMR titer and i had the vaccines for all these (I gave them my vaccine record including vaccines for these diseases so not blood test was necessary) This clinic is dishonest, lacks transparency, and operates unethically. I was told that the office is not taking patients, but they can see me, since I have not been for a check-up in over two years. When I got there at 9:55am, I was greeted by Marina, a billing staffer, who was helping out on front desk in Irina's absence. Marina kept running to Dr. Vernikova after every patient call, and the questions that she was asking,--even I knew the answer to. Such constant running back and forth to ask Dr. V. questions that any receptionist should know was annoying, since my time with Dr. V. kept being interrupted. When my check-up concluded at 10:15am, four more patients were waiting at the reception area. I guess this office is seeing patients, and the business must go on. So if you need a check-up with PHP, this is your office. Just check what insurance they accept. They accept Medicaid, but stopped accepted United Healthcare. I got the results of my bloodwork on a Tuesday, so just a few days after my appointment, which is pretty swift. Zoya Vernikova has been my, my mother's, my best friend's, and my best friend's mother's doctor for quite a long time. She genuinely cares about her patients and always shows deep interest in their well-being. I dread any kinds of doctors and medical procedures, but Dr. Vernikova is the only doctor who puts me at ease. I feel safe to open up with her and express everything that is on my mind. Her bedside manner is very gentle and attentive. She noticed the enlarged veins on my legs during one visit and ordered a test, which another doctor performed that same day in the office. The results confirmed varicose veins [which runs in the family] and Dr. Vernikova went over a series of preventative measures to help avoid future complications with that condition. Just a word of caution. Dr. Verknikova is very caring, yet her manner is very straightforward, so that can rub many patients the wrong way. For example, when my mother, who has two incompatible types of cancers, which baffle all doctors who learn of such impossibility, came for a check-up, Dr. V. said, "my deepest sympathies, now we have to pray." That clearly is not very encouraging to a sick patient who has heard the worst already and is expecting some support and hope to keep fighting. Also, when I was in for my appointment, Dr. V. was talking on a phone with a family member of an old, sick patient who was battling coronavirus and was denied being admitted to a hospital due to his age and pre-existing medical conditions. Dr. V. was very straightforward, saying there's a 50/50 chance and there's nothing else that can be done. The person on the phone kept asking for some sort of reassurance, but Dr. V.'s manner was brisk and impersonal, as if she just told someone that tomatoes are healthier than cucumbers, not that someone's loved one has 50/50 chance of surviving. The office uses Patient Fusion, an easy online platform where you can schedule appointments, check results of your medical tests & procedures, and talk with your doctor about any concerns you might suddenly have, from the comfort of your couch. The reason why I'm taking off a star is for the above mentioned stories and for the wait time before an appointment. If you come after 4pm--brace yourself--you'll be in for a looooooong wait. Bring a book. I once waited for almost two hours on a Monday evening after work. Make early morning appointments if you'd like to get out of here without aging in the waiting room.
