First of all, everyone who works here is so friendly. I ended up without transportation to work due to break issues. Pride was fantastic as always! Dropped my car off in the AM and they had it diagnosed in no time. They also let me know about a couple of other things that were wrong with my car that I hadn't even mentioned. As a twenty-something woman, it can be a stressful experience walking into an auto shop. The last thing I want to deal with on top of car troubles is mansplaining. After reading the great reviews, took a chance on PAC. I was not disappointed. From the moment I walked in the door I felt like a valued customer. They got me in right away on a Saturday morning. During the diagnostics I was consulted at every step and given several options to consider. I was never talked down to. Much of their clientele is female. The staff are consistently friendly and knowledgeable. PAC dropped me off and picked me up from my doorstep while my car was in the shop. I felt safe riding alone in the van with their driver. If you want to get ripped off this is the place to go. $85.00 to change one headlight lamp, which i did it myself in 10 minutes (Thanks to youtube). They had the Audacity to tell me that it was an hours job to change the freakin bulb. Also from the Management to the worker all are Thugs. This is the only place, I will take my car to get maintained. I used to take my cars over to Discount and Big O... I never trusted them from the start and they were ridiculous with pricing. Pride Auto Care, provides great customer service and honest feed back..I just had my car serviced and purchased new windshield wipers. I was on vacation for a week, and came back to snow. My wipers got bent somehow! So, I took my car into the shop, with no reservation, to have them take a quick look. They stopped what they were doing, and ended up replacing my wipers! Not once did they turn me away, or tell me to come back when i had an appointment!! Thanks guys! By great customer service like that, makes me keep coming back and giving them my business!! Short back story, I had a recall performed on my car by "a certain dealership". A short time later, my left front wheel almost broke completely off my car while I was driving! Making An Appointment: Easily done. Called the number listed here and got an appointment time of my choosing for within the week. Speediness: I'm not a "car guy", so I'm not really sure what is involved with a regular tune-up and oil change, but they had my truck back to me within an hour. I waited on-site in their waiting area, and made happy use of a guest WiFi network. Price: $60 or so to get my tires rotated, oil changed, and whatever else is involved with routine maintenance sorted out. I was quite pleased with the price. Congeniality: I was helped by Tanner and he was polite, prompt, and professional. Other front desk personnel I saw while waiting were equally friendly with other customers. Everyone got the swift attention and help they needed, even if they didn't have an appointment or weren't sure what was going on with their vehicle. I love these guys. We've taken both our cars here since we moved to town almost 4 years ago. They are honest and will always take the time to explain things to me without sounding condescending. On one occasion, I had told them to please not rotate the tires because I had just had them replaced and didn't think it was needed. When they called to give me the rundown, they told me they had and that they charged me for it! I told them that I wasn't happy, so they said they would put them back. Well, upon picking up my vehicle, they told me that when they inspected the tires, they felt that the rotation was necessary, but didn't charge me for it. I was touched and impressed. Overpriced. They didn't have the part needed for my repair so they charged me $60 (half hour of a mechanics full hourly rate) for them to retrieve said part from another shop. I've never heard of the customer being charged an extra 90% of the cost of a part because it wasn't in stock. I was not made aware of this charge until afterwards. You'd think they'd just order it in (yes there'd be a delay, but that's better than being charged out the nose) or have it sent from the other shop via regular transfer. read more

Update: Chris gave minimal effort to make it right and refused to admit Pride did anything wrong, hence I'm sticking with a 1 Star rating. Luckily, I asked the 2nd shop, Kevin's, for the old parts before they fixed it correctly. Chris' solution to Pride's poor service was to refund $374 for the kit. I still gave Pride almost $2K for an incorrect service. What a waste! Caveat: yes, Chris is as disingenuous as other reviewers have claimed. He acts upbeat & open at first, but once you get into the meat of an issue, you realize he's just playing dumb because he's actually very sharp & makes passive-aggressive comments & will try to dance around any real problems. I noticed this behavior when I first started going to Pride, but didn't care too much when the work was done as expected. Review: The clutch went out in June and Pride installed a Perfection kit. Immediately, I noticed the pedal was hard as a rock. Pride said it would take a week to loosen up; it took two, but it only operated properly when the car was cold. When warm, the pedal became much harder & entering first gear produced a vibration. I hurt my knee shortly after this & had to have a two-part repair: first a scope to remove the bone chip (which was done in July, a minor procedure), then a bone graft to fill the hole permanently (would be eventually done in October, major operation). After my scope, I drove the car for a couple months to hopefully let the clutch settle, but it only got worse. I took it back & Pride said the flywheel was totally chewed up. They replaced the same kit for free, hoping it was just a bad kit. The car still drove the same as the first repair, with different operation between cold/hot, & first gear vibration. Shortly after, the bone bank found a donor & I had the graft operation in October. I was left unable to place any weight on the leg for six weeks. So I start driving again in December, but guess what else? I had my first child, a beautiful baby girl at the end of the month! I took a month off work to bond as a family; I prob drove my car once a week that month. It's now almost February & the clutch is still the same. I call Pride & they tell me a U-joint on my drive shaft will need to be replaced for the clutch to operate correctly. I think, what? I'm not a mechanic, but I'm not sure a drive shaft correlates with a clutch issue; but I give Pride a chance because we've gone this far. I ask what we could do if that didn't resolve the issue & they said that's all they can think to do here & hopefully this will finally fix it. After a $500 replacement, the clutch MAYBE works slightly better, but the same basic issues remain. I take it back to let them test drive it; Chris says nothing is wrong. I ask about the hot operation, he counters that all clutches feel different [wrong, I've been driving for 20 years and never had a clutch operate as poorly as the one I got back from Pride]. I ask why it was so smooth for so many years prior to Pride's work & he brushes it off. So I take it back & test drive it with them myself; they half-heartedly agree there is an issue & ask me to call back for Chris later. Well, Chris offers up all sorts of excuses on why there is no issue, & why they won't work on the car until it breaks while I'm driving (putting my safety in danger). At this point, Pride is refusing to fix my clutch. So I go to Kevin's on Iliff. In one short phone call, Kevin explains that the Perfection kit Pride used doesn't work with Subarus & is a cheap kit. He offers to install a better quality kit and finally fix my clutch, along with an oil change, tire rotation, & look at my wonky left front blinker light, all for less than Pride's initial charge for JUST the clutch. When I get my Subaru back from Kevin, everything is fixed properly; the clutch operates as smooth as a baby's bottom (I'm a dad, so I know :]), & Kevin gives me the old clutch parts to show hot spots from Pride's incompatible installation. Before I called Pride to make this mess right, I gave myself a couple days to cool off & not think about how awful this has been. My goal is to explain how the other shop fixed it correctly the first time & try to recoup some of my money. I call Chris & now he says the U-joint was just a separate issue not related to the clutch. WHAT!?!?!? Chris is also dumbfounded how his clutch didn't work w my car, bc that's what his "application book" says. He says he'll look at refunding the kit only. read more

I was debating whether or not to leave a review. I really liked the guys at Pride. I felt like they were absolutely trustworthy and knowledgeable. However, they took a long time to complete a simple task, and didn't make a point of setting an expectation for the time-frame I'd be there. I went in (with an appointment) for an oil change and tire rotation. It took an hour-and-forty-five minutes. Anyone who's had an oil change and tire rotation knows that anything over about 40 minutes is unusual. Pride, if you're reading this, try to make a point of keeping your customers abreast of what's going on and whether something's going to take longer than usual. I will be going back to Pride, but will make sure I can leave my car all day, or make sure I have a big block of time to wait. read more

My wife's car was making a noise, so I brought it into Pride. They identified the source of the problem, fixed it and had it ready before the time they originally quoted and came in under their own estimated price. Additionally, they understood that our 2-year-old naps until 3pm (when they close on Saturdays) so they were very accommodating about letting us come by at 3:15pm to pick up the car. Danny is awesome and so helpful! I called in due to my car not starting and then needing a jump. I asked tons of questions and Danny thoroughly and patiently went through everything with me. Also I was in a pinch and needed to have my car fixed that very day to be able to go pick up my daughter from school at 3. So at 10 am I brought it in and they had it fixed for me by 2:30. Also I had purchased a blinker light from Auto Zone and asked if they could install it for me which they did at no additional cost. I will definitely be back for all my car maintenance! We recently had an issue after getting an oil change. They overlooked putting back on a cap for the coolant. We called them, and they immediately came to our house and picked up the car. They filled it up with coolant and took it back to their shop to look it over. They were extremely helpful and professional in the way they handled the situation. They immediately apologized and asked how they could make things right. They offered to even come spray out our garage and clean up the coolant that leaked. They offered us a free oil change next time we needed one. We were already happy with this place, and glad to know they are willing to do whatever it takes to make a situation like this better. read more

We took our son's car to Pride Auto Care on Broadway at the end of May because it was making a funny sound. After completing a blow-by test the service manager, Ty, informed us that the engine needed to be replaced which was quite a shock to us since the car only had 55,000 miles. He suggested that we take the car to the dealership and see if the engine was still under warrantee. Pride replaced a PCV valve and charged us for that service, but warned us that this would not fix the problem on a permanent basis. We needed a new engine. We took the car straight from Pride Auto Care to the dealership. The dealership ran their own diagnostics. They informed us that a spark plug had broken off in the engine which probably happened when Pride Auto Care ran their blow by test since it is standard practice to remove spark plugs for such a test. They said a spark plug most likely got broken as a result of the test and fell into the engine. Because of the condition of the spark plugs, they stated that it was easy to see that the spark plug was broken very recently. They provided photographs that substantiated this. In addition, they said that a PCV valve replacement typically fixed the initial sound problem and this typically did not result in an engine needing to be replaced. The current problem with the engine appeared to be a result of whatever happened at Pride Auto Care, not the sound occurring when it was brought to them. The dealership told us that to take apart the engine to get out the broken spark plug would cost us $2,994; however, if the spark plug had damaged the engine then we would need to pay for a replacement engine on top of that. They said they were surprised the car even made it to the dealership. In that condition cars typically needed to be towed. We called the Pride service manager, Ty, and explained what we had been told by the dealership. He said that they did not take out the spark plugs when they did the blow by test. He did offer to refund the cost of the PCV valve which was almost $200 dollars. We called back the dealership. They said that it was not possible to correctly do the blow by test without taking out the spark plugs. The spark plugs would need to be taken out for that type of test to be completed. We then called the owner of Pride Auto Care, Dwight Pridemore. He concurred with Ty that Pride Auto Care had not taken out any spark plugs for the blow by test because the volume of air produced indicated that the engine needed to be replaced without them having to take out the spark plugs. We told him that the dealership had photographs demonstrating that the damage to the spark plugs had happened very recently and asked him to call the service manager there to get to the bottom of what had happened. We gave him the name and phone number of the service manager and asked him to call us back after he had consulted the dealership. Three weeks later we had still not gotten a response from Dwight. We had to move forward with repairs so we had the dealership install a used engine for $4,050. We could not afford a brand new engine and did not want to run the risk of paying to have the engine dismantled only to discover that it had irreparable damage. If we had been warned to tow the car instead of drive it to the dealership, we would have opted for the cheaper repair. We would like to be reimbursed by Pride Auto Care for $2,994, the quoted price of removing the spark plug from the old engine. We will absorb the additional cost of replacing the used engine. read more

My wife and I have used Pride for all our car maintenance needs since 2008. We used to live close by so it was convenient for us to take our cars there. We couldn't have been luckier to give them a shot all those years ago. Again and again they have shown and proven their honesty and competence. You won't be up-sold on products / services you don't need. My wife even feels comfortable going to the shop on her own, and I do too, knowing she won't be taken advantage of.
