It is quite possible that this location is produce heaven !! As soon as I walked into the store and saw all of the huge produce, I realized that this is a healthy person's dream of a grocery store!!! I haven't seen anything like it since I moved from the pro produce west coast. This store is top-notch similar to a Whole Foods. There's a massive fancy delicatessen, a very nice pharmacy, a Starbucks a flower section and everything appears to be bright and new with amazing selection. I went from being an overwhelmed mom to enjoying my shopping experience looking at all the new kombuchas and specialty juices. If you're trying to get healthy or you're on a health kick this would be the place to come to feel supported and cared for in your self-care decision. Marie in the Bakery needs to be fired. we have seen her not only be rude to staff but also customers. I've known employees there that have left because of Marie and management has not done anything about her. She is the manager of the bakery and has no respect for anyone in the work place. rather than lead by example, she belittles employees to the point where the bakery is short staffed. So we were visiting my parents in my hometown and we wanted to prepare a nice dinner for them. This location is definitely my type of grocery store. There is a Starbucks right up front. There's a great organic section and also a counter with delicious, prepared hot food. They had everything we were shopping for. There's a lot that I like about this Price Cutter. It's big, it's bright and clean. The employees are friendly and the prices are good. When I'm in town this is my preference for sure. read more

Well since Dillion's closed they seem to be trying to get their act together. No more will you find they wait 7 months to markdown the Hemp Milk; markdowns seem to have more reasonable times. Some great deals in the meat / seafood area. The new sushi folks they have seem to have some really good deals. I haven't had anything not ring up correctly in the last 4 visits, a record. Some of the specials are kinda annoying, i.e., store coupon good only w/ $10 purchase. Prices on pet food - esp cat food I have cats! - are still crazy high. There are some cheap - really, really cheap - varieties that, well, aren't low priced (not that I'd buy them). I like the $1 food section. Not as good as it was in days bygone, hardly the store's fault - inflation - but they still have some nifty items. I can't figure out why they don't still have those $1 items that are now $1.75, some of them were very high quality and even at $1.75 would be a deal. Some prices are crazy high, some aren't, and they do seem to have better sales now. Waiting to see in 6 months what happens. read more

I go here sometimes because it's convenient sometimes. But really they lack in a lot of areas. Such as selection in some spots. The last few times I've been in there they haven't been all that friendly, customer service seems to be lacking. It is amazing that this little store has more variety of products that Walmart. For the pass three days I went to my local Walmart in Mt. VERNON an to the one in Republic, to purchase two item that I needed for a recipe these items were not available. I ask them why, their excuse was that because of the virus they have problems with their supplier. So I went to Republic Price Cutter and they had the two items that I needed. This is not the first time that this incident has happened. It seems Price Cutter does not have a problem with their suppliers. Pricecutter has a great food selection and I love shopping their sales events! My favorite thing about this particular location is their gift shop. It is great! I wish I could give 10 stars. I design for weddings and always buy my flowers and product at Lilly's in Pricecutter - usually the store on Republic Road. The women are gracious and helpful and always try to get the best price and product. They answer questions, do what they tell you they will do, and have consistent excellent service. They make beautiful arrangements at great prices. Lilly's carries beautiful, up to date gifts in their gift shop, too! Just beautiful. I send everyone I know to this particular store. read more

I used to shop here all the time. No more...only when I have too. I stopped in a few days ago they had only two registers open and six-seven people in both lines. I could understand this if it was later in the evening but it was right around 5:00 pm. The girl that usually works the customer service desk is awesome though. She's always willing to help and always friendly. I understand you have to manage your hours/employees but it's time to step it up and make this easier to get in and out of. read more

I used to shop at Dillon's and loved them! Now that they are gone, price cutter is getting a lot of their business. However, I am not impressed. This location, and also the new one on St. Louis (where Dillon's used to be) have major issues, at least with the organic section. The prices (compared to Mama Jeans and HyVee) are not that good. Plus, in the organic produce section, they almost always have the price tags and the items all messed up. In some cases, there are even items that don't have a price tag anywhere. And good luck finding an employee to help. I have complained to customer service about the issue several times, and absolutely nothing has changed. This is no way to run a business!! I also noticed today that they had organic strawberries on sale for 3.99. Well, the regular price tag was easily visible and the regular price is.........3.99!!!! That is just wrong. Also, in their organic produce section, they have prices, but they don't specify if they are per pound or per item. There is absolutely no excuse for that. The prices should be clearly marked either per pound or per item. Also, their prices are really premium, at least for organic. I know the organic hot dogs, and organic horizon singles milk is higher than I have ever seen it anywhere else. In conclusion, I am shocked that a chain with so many locations can be so disorganized and have so many issues and still stay in business. I really, really miss Dillon's, but I will now only shop at HyVee and Mama Jeans for my organic food. Price Cutter is not getting my business anymore. Those chicken tenders!!!!! I go to Price Cutter for one thing, and one thing only... their chicken tenders. Don't even talk to me about any other places tenders. Cheddars? Yeah, they are okay, but not worth the wait. One time I went to Outback and SPECIFICALLY asked if they had good sized chicken strips. They said yes, so I ordered. What I got was so small, so dry, so pathetic; I was insulted to my very core. You don't get that kind of dishonesty here. You can actually see the gorgeous, golden tenders before you order... and boy are they tender. Huge too! Sometimes I dream of what heaven looks like, and I'm pretty sure it is a place made completely of those delicious meat logs. So what if they are overpriced on every other item in the store? So what if the employees I encountered tonight while grabbing strips were pretty stupid? Go in, grab you some tenders, and get out! Price Cutter, your tenders make this world a better place. Someday I hope to be able to go in and buy all the tenders you've got. For now, a half pound per visit will have to do. Anyhow, the sushi is alright... The wife likes the meatloaf... The selection of foods is great, same goes for wine, and I like that Price Cutter is a locally-based ESOP, but really, they could do better in a lot of areas. Their bulk food is crazy overpriced. You can get the same stuff- fresher and cheaper- at Mama Jean's. The thing that really disenchanted me with Price Cutter was this: I had a very negative experience at a location where I used to shop two or three times a week. So, I tried to email to complain. They make it moderately difficult to contact them online (or they did at the time) so I used a contact form. No response. I wasn't asking for monetary compensation, or an apology, my intention was only to notify a business with which I was displeased why I planned to spend less money with them. I didn't receive any response. At all. However, I soon began receiving email blasts from Price Cutter, who only had my email address from my complaint. So, I don't avoid them completely, sometimes they're the most convenient option, but I'm far less willing to pay their prices thanks to their garbage customer service. read more

I have been to the Price Cutter many times and have gotten okay service from the Deli. Well, that changed when I made a trip recently. I was standing at the counter, one young female moved and I saw her look i my direction. She turned around and did nothing to assist me. Another gentleman was standing there too. At not time did the male or female keep their eyes open to possible customers at the Deli. Finally, I had had enough and called out a hello. The female turned around and tolled her eyes at me. That ended it for me. She said may I help you and I told her no to forget it. I went immediately to find a manager to let them know about the rudeness of a female that should be happy she has a job. I flat out told the manager I was done with going to that store. He offered me a free dinner. Nope, Mr. Manager that does not cut it for me. Seems to me, there should be training on customer service and that includes, at least look up once in awhile to check to see if someone is waiting for service. I went to Harter House and was given very delightful customer service. And the items in the Deli are fantastic at Harter House. From now on, I will be going there for my Deli items I need. read more
