Vegetables were minimal and uninspired. The lamb was unseasoned and tough. For a restaurant with The Ivy's name and reputation, this felt rushed, joyless, and deeply underwhelming. No real flavour payoff, and no sign that anyone in the kitchen had any pride in the food they send out. Feels all the more jarring given how beautiful the setting is. This was less "elegant brasserie" and more "supermarket ready-meal with better lighting". I wouldn't return for the roast -- and I wouldn't recommend it.

Waiters offered us our drinks and starters and this was brought to us within 10 minutes. Again, no waiting around. I ordered calamari which came beautifully crisp and moist, with a fresh slice of lemon. We ordered our mains which came to us within 15-20 minutes, the waiters didn't disturb us, but were swift when we finished eating to provide a desserts menu and top up our drinks. The speed and quality of food was amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone, some of the best service and food to go and enjoy!

However we did have a couple of drinks in the bar which was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and the bar had a nice atmosphere and was more sleek and stylish than your run of the mill hotel bar. My only actual complaint of the hotel was that the bed was a bit too hard. While I had no trouble sleeping, I did find it hard to relax comfortably whilst watching TV or snoozing in the morning. Overall we were very happy with the stay and in particular were very impressed with the friendly and professional nature of all staff members by whom we were served.
