Service Notes: Exterior ants observed both front and back of property. Velvety tree ants at front willow. Recommend cutting tree back away from structure. Treated accordingly. They were a total scam called in to for an initial assessment which was quoted at $90, then removal was going to be up to $300 depending on what was required. The guy turned up was really nice but checked the hole where the possums live, plugged the hole with some wire from our house essentially trapping them in there then sprayed cockroach spray in a couple of places. Then proceeded to write the invoiced amount on the back of a fuel receipt the amount of $300. Total scam charged the full amount did nothing problem still here and they are not contactable I guess the aim was the let them die in their home after blocking the entrance with wire. This has now been removed. read more

Don't sign anything. They hide multiple services in the contact, telling you it's two but really it's five. They overcharge and don't have the quality of service for the fees. Plus their rep thinks it's appropriate to make sexual passes while alone on the property. The real reason I am no longer interested in their business. Hire professional crew. I have used Preventive Pest Control for 14 years GREAT reservice He did more than even reported, because he also did the Atrium, which had widow webs --big ones! Gabriel is always kind, courteous, and seems interested in his work. He also explains what he is doing and why. I appreciate that. You can send him anytime! TRUST THEM! If you are not pleased for any reason (only happened twice in 14 years. Usually it's due to a miscommunication) they will happily come back and retreat. read more

Technician wasn't careful and ripped out with his hose, a young plant that we have been growing over the summer and which was doing well. We now have to pay for it to be replaced on our time and cost..not only that but probably can't get the same plant at this point in the year. Only an "I apologize" was said. I understand things can happen but they had no service recovery. Very frustrating. Not impressed with customer service or the tech not being careful knowing that they are young growing plants. Will not renew the contract when it comes up in the spring. Unfortunately will cost 60% of the contract to cancel now. Which of course doesn't make sense given that it's not cheap. When you have someone come to your door and you sign up for whatever they are selling, you have a three day right of recension. They came Friday and did spray for bugs and weeds. After thinking about it I was paying $225.00 a quarter, $900.00 a year I canceled the next day. It took me calling every day for 4 days and arguing with them to finally get it canceled and even then they said they discounted the first treatment by $50.00 and that I had to pay it. I went ahead and did paid them just to get done with them. I will be registering a complaint with the ROC and the State Attorney General for deceptive business practices. You can find companies that will spray for bugs for 79.00 a quarter. Go with them! read more

We recently moved to Albuquerque into an older home that was in need of repair and also had an insect problem. We had cockroaches, ants, even a desert centipede. We looked at pest control company reviews and this one came highly rated. The exterminator was Ayden and he was great. Preventative pest control has been in my life for three years now, providing services in my home every other month, like clockwork. They are like a fine oiled machine, that even in times of COVID-19, they NEVER miss a beat!! They are affordable and incredibly dependable. I get a text message about for five days ahead of time, with them letting me know the day that they're going to be coming along with the phone number in case that date doesn't work for me. I like to be home when they come, because part of my yard is gated and locked off because I have indoor-outdoor cats and for security purposes. So, it's extremely important that I'm home, otherwise, they will not be able to spray around the entire parameter of the house. Plus, I like them to spray inside sometimes too (for carpenter ants or whatever). They were particularly helpful this year when we were having problems with moths. Every visit, their exterminators are so kind, helpful and go out of their way to offer suggestions. I really appreciate them!! read more

I've been a customer for over 6 years. They are my pest control company. I've never had a issue with my service technicians or the office staff. I always get a reminder phone call about when my technician will be out to spray which is helpful to me. Today I had to call and notify them that I moved. Cal was so helpful, she even gave me a discount on the new property's services. They are a customer service oriented company and I would recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to live with pests/bugs/spiders. You won't have any. read more

This place could have scored a perfect score IF they would have completed just one more request on the treatment completed in Oct 2021. This was for my home I recently purchased, that had NO infestation on the home, but did have activity in the driveway's expansion joints (rotted) boards. I simply asked them to please mark and send my receipt stating that this was a PREVENTATIVE treatment since there was no activity found inside OR outside of this structure. Chelsea (Office Employee) stated I should go to a Structural Engineer to verify if my residence's structure was compromised---despite her personnel NOT finding any damage, internal tunnels or infestation. It was obvious that since they were paid in-full, the "Customer Service" they proclaimed went OUT THE DOOR. I was stunned. I cannot recommend them to anyone. ALWAYS get what you need in writing or suffer the potential consequences! FYI: State Law REQUIRES that any termite treatment be acknowledged in the real estate disclosures when selling a home. My goal was to keep a close eye on this property and let a future buyer know that my treatment completed in October 2021 was for PREVENTATIVE purposes. read more

So, I had been battling an ant issue since this past spring in my front yard. Every time I thought I had them licked, they came back in full force. I finally threw the towel in two days ago and called for help. Was worried to get someone in the house during the pandemic, but, they had crossed the line and I to MY KITCHEN! So, I swallowed my pride and called them. Emily was super sweet! She walked me through pricing, what to expect, and didnt pressure me once. When I received the quote, I knew what to be ready for. When Darin showed up at my door, he wore a mask and was very cordial and professional. He assessed the situation, made sure my pets were safe, and went to war on my behalf. Get this, those ants I had been battling in the front yard...their main colony was IN MY BACK YARD!!! I never would have won. After he sprayed and inspected my yard and home, he let me know that ants were tricky, but if they showed within the next week, to call right away for a FREE RESPRAY! That's right, folks! I recently had an unfortunate incident when my condominium porches were sprayed by PPC under contract with my HOA. Because of health conditions for both myself and my pet, I did not want to be sprayed. This was not PPC's error insomuch as we were not advised of the planned spraying by our property manager. As a result I had to dispose of a brand new outdoor rug that got insecticide on it. The commercial division of PPC was incredibly kind and compassionate, reimbursing me for my new rug. I don't know many commercial vendors these days that will take such pains to keep their clients and customers happy. Hats off to Mike and his team for going the extra mile for me. We moved to a new home in the mountains and had all new creatures to deal with. After researching various companies, we called Preventive. BRANDON POINDEXTER came out to do an estimate. He was professional, knowledgable and friendly. Preventive not only quoted on pest control, but also quoted for sealing all the gaps and entryways to prevent bugs from entering. I have never had a pest control company do this before, and appreciated their overall approach to attacking the bugs and critters. BRANDON came out a couple weeks later and was excellent- very hardworking. It is great to know he will likely be our technician going forward. Overall, we are very pleased so far . Very dissatisfied, the sales person moved the screen around so much while trying to sell me on it, had me sign for a free initial spray. But didn't find out until I tried to cancel that it was for a year and it would cost $160 to cancel. No matter how much we tried to plead our case that the salesperson was borderline unethical, since our card was on file and they don't let you remove it, they just went ahead and charged the card. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

We have used a Mom and Pop pest control service for years. They always sprayed once a year and we were good. Last year they were bought out by a national company and the price almost tripled and we had bugs a month after the spray. This year I reached out to Preventative Pest Control. Phenomenal service! From the first call to get info and schedule an appt. Everyone was friendly and professional. The young man that came out to spray was courteous and professional. He was in and out quickly but did a very thorough job. The price was very reasonable. Five months later we are still 100% bug free! I will use them again next year for sure! read more

Preventive has been keeping my house free from ants and roaches since 2013. They are reliable and worth it. I love that they will come to my home between service times to tackle pests, as they did last month. Recently, I have had trouble with mice at our then-vacant rental house, and their mice baiting stations are doing a great job. When I left a note for the tech to call me, he did. We had a good discussion about the bait stations and a couple of areas of ants that I needed him to target. He was happy to be of help and, when I arrived at the house later that day was able to see the ant bait on and around their hills. I also appreciate reading the tech's feedback about the mice bait stations and other work on the completed service emails. Highly recommend, especially now that their website and payment portal problems have resolved. read more

They had two sales reps show up at my door, one was unvaccinated AND unmasked. This is not okay and extremely unsafe as well as going against state and federal regulations. It's masked or vaxxed and I'm shocked and appalled this company is sending out reps that are unvaccinated and have the audacity to be unmasked as well. Its endangering to the community. read more

We have actually used this company for the past several years. We have always had good service, but this past month was exceptional. Roughly three weeks we had Preventative Pest Control come to our property for our yearly treatment. I'm not sure if our winter was too mild or if it was just an odd season for bugs, but the spider situation in the backyard seemed excessive. I called them a week after the first treatment to inform them that we still had issues. They offered me a free re-treatment. The technician came out yesterday and gave the yard a second dose and really worked hard to remedy our problem. I think this company has a great policy for keeping customers happy. read more

I continuously see ants and spiders well into December with this other company. They have been a complete waste of money. I am extremely regrettable in switching from preventive to this new company. He was very informative and provided a lot of detail to me and answered my questions thoroughly which I appreciated. He offered solutions to me but didn't try to oversell me which I also appreciated. I have been using Preventive Pest Control for the last few warm months and unfortunately they were never able to completely get rid of my ant and spider (including black widows) problem. They even came out two more times to spray between appointments. I keep a very clean kitchen and as we speak I have ants on my kitchen counters! After a few months I think that their product and service have shown that what they are doing is not effective and not worth the money.The icing on the cake, I was at home alone with my toddler when I had a loud pounding on my front door. It was a couple of preventive pest control guys looking tough and intimidating telling me I was late on my payment. I told them I had sent my payment a couple days ago and why they came to my home. My experience with this company was 2 years ago... The first initial scheduled service went well. A year contract was a part of the deal and all subsequent visits didn't go so well. Our pest problem we wanted help with was indoors (roaches & ants). At random we'd find notices on our door that our home was serviced outside for spiders & mice ?? Even after I called to ask for scheduled apps. so our home could be serviced inside, it never happened. So I felt stuck for a year paying for services we didn't need and stuck living indoors with pests we didn't want. read more

When we lived in ABQ (moved up to Seattle two years ago) we used Preventive, and they were definitely awesome. It was expensive, but there was NO way I was going to be able to handle the profusion of spiders, ants, and cockroaches in our concrete slab house. They even found a way to come up through the drain into the bathtub. Nope, nope, nope. Preventive was great to work with and it made a huge difference in the amount of pests we had. They were a little pushy through the winter when I put them off for warmer climates when there weren't as many bugs, but I understand that from a preventative perspective, it's better to spray year-round. (As a side note, just about every guy that came to the house was not only very sweet, but quite attractive--side bonus ;) read more
