When we lived in ABQ (moved up to Seattle two years ago) we used Preventive, and they were definitely awesome. It was expensive, but there was NO way I was going to be able to handle the profusion of spiders, ants, and cockroaches in our concrete slab house. They even found a way to come up through the drain into the bathtub. Nope, nope, nope. Preventive was great to work with and it made a huge difference in the amount of pests we had. They were a little pushy through the winter when I put them off for warmer climates when there weren't as many bugs, but I understand that from a preventative perspective, it's better to spray year-round. (As a side note, just about every guy that came to the house was not only very sweet, but quite attractive--side bonus ;) read more

They still harass me after a year and a half of no contract. I don't owe them any money, but they want my business again. Nope.

I have been a customer of Preventive Pest for over 13 years and they are excellent! The prices are great, the service, office and technicians, are a breeze to work with, both friendly & professional. They are very flexible and I have never even needed follow-up sprays as I have never, in 13 years, had a pest problem, even small, of any kind. I wouldn't work with anyone else. read more

After dealing with a horrible pest control company, Preventive Pest Control is a welcome change. They are professional, prompt, courteous, in short, everything you could ask for when dealing with any service company. I 100% recommend them over any of the nationally known competitors. read more

Long time customer here. Have used Preventive for years and could not be happier with their service. Techs are always friendly, respectful and attentive, answering any questions I may have. Will continue to be a Preventive Pest Control customer! read more

Always reliable & professional. Personable techs you don't mind letting into your home. Price is reasonable. And they guarantee results. Had them for years. Recommended. read more

Office staff was very friendly and helpful over the phone. The technician who came to do the initial spray was very informative and thorough. We were having issues with black widows outside and little black ants in the kitchen area. Neither have been seen since! read more

Last time the technician treated our yard, I think his name was Brandon, I thought he did a really good job. He already had the information of areas that we did and areas we didn't want treated. But he was also careful not to spray close to our tomato and pumpkin plants. That was something I had forgotten about. read more

Great company with great employees. Every interaction has been fantastic and I feel that the customer service is worth the bit extra that may be charged. Preventive did my pest inspection before I bought my house and were so thorough and helpful that I hired them for pest control maintenance and weed control. Jonathan explained everything and did a great job at both. My weeds are already starting to die and they won't be back thanks to the pre- and post-emergent treatment. I'm very pleased and highly recommend these services. read more

Great service and friendly technicians. We've been customers since 2003 and don't plan to ever change.

Not impressed at all with their customer service or how they handled my concerns about their service. It doesn't seem like it should be hard to schedule the service when it's convenient for the customer but for this company it was. I called three times to reschedule my appointments because they couldn't grasp the concept of scheduling the service every month from April-August and every other month Sept. - Mar. I was event willing to sign a contract. Nope, not for me. As the customer I shouldn't have to remind them to provide me with the service and then charge me on top of that! no thanks! read more

This is a good company with professional prompt technicians. The only issues I have run into with them is getting the correct bill sent to the correct person in a timely manor. I did have a problem with a German cockroach infestation that they took care of quite well. read more

The techs in this company are amazing and do great work, the back office not so much. I have three properties on one street that I have serviced. I have tried to work with this company for over a year to get these properties on one invoice and serviced at the same time. We finally got them to service and schedule the properties at the same time but they are still unable to ensure that these are on one invoice....what is so freakin difficult. Then I call the office because they call my wife and indicate there is a balance due and am told no everything is paid, not ten minutes later they call my wife and tell her there is a balance....what the hell. Confused or incompetent, not sure, blame it on the software whatever, I truly think it is time to move on to another company that has their service together. read more

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. The service lately has been poor. There has been zero follow up after I explained my issues. I canceled an upcoming appointment and rescheduled for the following week. I received 2 confirmation calls and accepted the new appointment. The day of the appointment I took time off from work and waited 6 hours for Preventive to show. They never did. I called the office, the receptionist I spoke with did not have me on the schedule for the day. I explained that I had confirmed my appointment and she did have record of the conformation calls, but couldn't explain why I wasn't on the schedule. She then told me she would have a manger call me. I'm still waiting 4 weeks later. I am currently looking for a new Pest Control service. I'll let everyone know when I do. read more

This was Joe's first visit to my house, for which he prepared by reviewing my account with Aris, who typically provides the service. Both gentlemen are professional, efficient and thorough. Great service. read more

PPC representatives are always pleasant, professional and helpful. When I have a pesty problem, they are here fixing it. I have been with them for a few years and have no plans of searching for a new pest control company. I just love them! read more

I've been with this company for years, and they have always given me good service. When I had trouble inside my house, they put a note in their system that I want to be there when they arrive, so that the inside of my home can be sprayed. I appreciate their professionalism and good work. read more

This place is a joke. They don't do a good job and their customer service sucks. They told me that they would be out on Saturday 12-2 pm. At 2:30 I called to see where they were, the guy told me he didn't know, where the person was and how to get a hold of the person. So basically " call back Monday". There are a lot of things I would have rather been doing on a Saturday than sitting around waiting for them, only to be stood up. I will gladly be calling Monday to cancel their services, there are plenty if other places I can go and be treated with respect and not a burden. read more

Service started out great. Unfortunately over the years the service has become mediocre at best. It has taken months for them to come out for scheduled appointments, even when verifying the day before, the techs would never come out to the house. Even after calling to reschedule they wouldn't show up within their time block or at all. After multiple attempts to reschedule months would go by between services. read more

Worst possible record keeping. Signed us up for a year of treatments with no authorization and had our neighbor sign paperwork that created a yearly contract that then was automatically renewable. Should have nipped it in the bud over a year ago but agreed with them to serve out the contract. They then padded the number of visits, seemed to be keeping two sets of records. There has to be someone more reputable ... felt like I was losing my mind dealing with them. Twilight zone material. read more

This company was supposed to kill the weeds in our yard. They were never able to do the job. Spoke with Rodrigo in their office over and over but he never offered any more than respraying. He admitted that the "new" chemical they had used did not work. In order for them to respray with the proper chemical, we had to pay a lawn company $160 to cut down the weeds that Preventive was not able to kill. Received no compensation from Preventive, were only offered a discount on our next 6 months of service. I fired them. If they couldn't fix the problem in over 6 months, why would I pay them more money to fail again? They still owe me $160 but have made it clear they do not care. Never had any trouble with the indoor pest service. read more

We were the FIRST customer in our Corrales area about 20 years ago and have used Preventive Pest ever since. Of course, from time to time, we have to call for a re-spray; but they always come out and cheerfully re-spray. No company is going to be perfect; but I love that they strive for perfection. I can honestly say that the price I pay now is only a few dollars more than I paid 20 years ago...THAT is amazing! They are now taking care of our WEED problems...I can't comment on that yet, because it's been too soon...will update in a few weeks. Thanks for the good work and the great service! read more

We live in the East Mtns and had a serious mouse and rat problem due to the recent bumper pinon seed crop. It was so bad that rats had gotten into the insulation under our house and mice inside our vehicles. What a mess! I attempted to solve the problem myself by purchasing numerous mice and rat bait stations, sticky rodent pads for the vehicles, etc. I also attempted everything imaginable (peppermint oil, mothballs, dryer sheets, etc.) without success. I called a major pest control company and set up an appointment on a Saturday between 0800 and 1200 hours. They never showed up. I did some online research and decided to try Preventive Pest Control. The technician was scheduled to show up between 0800 - 1200 hours. He showed up at 0810 hours! This was a good sign! He performed a thorough inspection and recommended a course of treatment. After three (3) weeks, we have not heard any rats under the house or seen any evidence of mice inside our vehicles for the past 6 days. They have followed up a couple of times since the initial visit to ensure that the treatment was working. Professional technicians, friendly and efficient office staff and overall great service. I highly recommend this company! read more

I just wonder in some seconds how many ants can gather at a place. Thousands and thousands of ants at my home as if my home is a candy house. Hell crazy! What more I didn't try-tea tree oil, traps, etc. but to no avail. Even in the food, kitchen everywhere the clouds of ants that was just spinning my head around. Called them and within 2 hours a guy named Tom came and just vanished my problem away. He sprayed some oil in the corners and holes which is likely to be the ants' dome. It's been a month now an no ant to be found. All thanks to Tom. Loved this guy and his work. Keep it up! read more

I have been a customer for over 15 years at two different houses. My service is every other month and unless I tell them of something specific, the treatment is outside mostly around the perimeter. This is a service that I don't even have to be home for. I was skeptical at first, but the treatment works. The folks in the office are very helpful if I need additional services. On the rare occasion that I have an issue inside, it is typically scheduled immediately and there is no extra charge. I highly recommend. read more

Very easy to schedule services! and has taken care of all issues we were experiencing. Best customer service I have had in dealing with different companies for my different properties in albuquerque. Definately find the value in the service. read more

My husband and I used PPC for over 16 years and we usually called them when it started getting warmer because during the winter months, we don't experience very many pests in or around the house. We have never had a problem doing this and neither have they. About a month ago I called for service. They informed me that since we hadn't had service in several months that not only were they going to require we sign a contract but our service would be going up $20 a month. After talking with them a bit, they gave me the original price but still insisted on the contract when we have never had to sign one before. I'm so disappointed, we really love their service but if this is what it's come to, we will find someone else. read more

These guys are horrible. We told them from the start that we would call them to schedule appointments when needed and want them to exterminate the house, but they apparently just show up while we're at work, leave a note on the door that says they exterminated the outdoors around our house (even though the gate is locked-not sure how they're getting into the back yard) and then bill us for outdoor service. I've called and complained. They said they'll put a note in the system so it doesn't happen again, but apparently they don't. I'm calling to fire them, but will probably have to send something to them in writing, otherwise they'll just pretend the call never happened and keep showing up. USE THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL!!! read more

We just moved to the Santa Fe area in April, and live on 6 acres of natural landscape. The house had not been lived in for 18 months, and plenty of "pests" had time to reproduce and make themselves welcome around our home. Our realtor recommended Preventive, and I have been incredibly pleased with all aspects of their business. The office staff is professional, friendly and understanding. The field technicians are all polite, throrough, informative and a pleasure to deal with. We have dealt with mice and pack rat issues, centipedes, beetles, and Preventive has been patient and supportive. The young men who come to the house are well groomed, intelligent, and friendly. Preventive has done an amazing job of hiring and training exceptional individuals, and their service is the best. Never having dealt with a rat situation, I have relied on Preventive's staff and managers to educated and guide me through the process of transitioning from city living to "country" living. I would highly recommend Preventive to everyone looking for help in pest control. read more
