I love Zook's Soft Pretzels! These pretzels are so good that there is typically a line wrapped…read morearound the stand. The line goes fast and you get to watch the employees make the pretzels as you wait. They have the whole process down to an art! It's fun to watch how quickly they can twist a pretzel. The original pretzel with salt is a great snack. Salty and extremely buttery. It has a slightly crispy outside with a warm soft and fluffy inside. A delicious combination! I always mean to try the other pretzel flavors (like the cinnamon and sour cream and onion) but I know the original is so good that I think "why ruin a good thing?" I have tried their ham and cheese stuffed pretzel. I always ask them to add salt to mine and they do. (It does not need salt, it's salty enough but that's just a preference.) The ham and cheese stuffed is so delicious and I've grabbed it a few times for a quick lunch. Very satisfying. I'm originally from closer to Philly. Philadelphia pretzels are great and I grew up eating them, but these pretzels beat them every day of the week (in my opinion!) Yum!

They are consistently soft, salty, just a little sweet, and overall a buttery goodness. The original salt soft pretzel is a great go-to. I opted for the no salt pretzel, but I want to go back for thr classic! I tried the sour cream and onion flavored one as well, which was also tasty. Nothing beats the original pretzel, though.

More kind and accommodating on the phone than just about any restaurant I've ever called. We came in like a half hour early, over the course of 20 minutes, cause we were traveling in multiple vehicles from ways away... I called ahead, but they said it was no problem at all. They were super helpful, I got drinks started while the rest of the party arrived. Ordered a bunch of appetizers... Mozzarella, sweet potato, waffle, fries, calamari... With like three different dipping sauces. Each of those was fantastic. Folks ordered burgers, chicken, cheesesteaks, traditional fair, like cottage pie, etc. Quantities were massive. Food was tasty. Many to go boxes were provided. The desserts were a surprise... I got my bread pudding to go. And then a few people got the lava cake and shared it. Great beer selection. Great cocktail selection. Great music on the speakers... At least I thought so, the Young'ns weren't as impressed with the sing-along Classics. Our server was beyond helpful, responsive, kind, accommodating,; probably one of the best I've ever had... Is that possible? Big party, I didn't check the details on the check... and the large party tip was included already. So I gave her too much cash for the tip, she stopped me on the way out and wanted to make sure I didn't screw up... Which I did. So she returned a couple bucks. But she earned every every bit for a tip yesterday.

Everything we had from the herring appetizer and salad to our entrees, German beers and wine was authentic and wonderful. The restaurant is not very big so reservations are helpful. It was only a few minutes late. Very German ambience with the waiters and hostess all dressed in traditional German Oktoberfest outfits. Everything was boxed up nicely. I have to admit I was a bit taken back on the overall price of $83 plus tip for one entrée, one appetizer, an extra side, and two desserts. Way too expensive for what I received in my opinion. We started with the Cambert fried cheese. It was amazing. I highly recommend it. It is shareable by two people max, as it is really only 4 triangles of fried cheese with some cranberry sauce. For the entrée I ordered the chicken Wienerschnitzel. It was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. It had good flavor, but there were only two pieces of chicken with a small side of red cabbage and a small side of waffle fries (no ketchup). Pretty expensive chicken at $29. We also had an extra side of potato salad. I had thought it would've been warm German potato salad, but it was cold. For dessert, we ordered Black Forest cake (small and very thin slice) and a slice of Bavarian strudel with vanilla sauce. Both were just OK. I've had Black Forest cake in many US German restaurants and in Germany in Munich and Baden Baden. The actual chocolate cake part for each layer was disappointing and tasted like a box cake mix. I don't think I would order either one again.
