I got a full set (acrylic) nails, a pedicure & chin wax yesterday. Last night I found some nails had excessive application of acrylic. I called this a.m. and asked to have the acrylic removed and was told it would cost $15. My overall experience was horrible as the staff was not friendly and seemed to be irritated when I questioned anything. Pretty nails is usually good, customer service is great. But two days after getting my nails done, it started chipping and cracking. I got dip nails, which I've been getting for the last five years, and I've never experienced this before. I was in town visiting when I got my nails done so I couldn't return to get it fixed. I called and asked for a refund or any accommodation and they said no. Couldn't even put me in the books for a free one for next time. For a place with great service I didn't expect this, I've been going here since I was a little girl and every time I know I'll be in town, I always plan to get my nails done at pretty nails. Nails look horrible. I usually have a good experience with them but this time it was bad. I just wanted my acrylics taken off and my real nails painted. My nails are EXTREMELY bumpy and uneven and she didn't even take off all of the acrylic. She also painted over powedered acrylic that she filed off of my nails. I'm extremely dissapointed. read more

Now I don't know why this always happens when I go there but when I do it seems to be like there's is mass confusion. Even though I'm showing a picture of what I want done. They literally make it so difficult to get either chrome, jewels, or just a plain different color nail. And their final coat of nail polish always peels off and then I make the edges of my nails look like crap. I go there because it's close to where I live and I'm from Washington state where it's easy to find good people to do nails... and I am literally lost when it comes to nails and it seems like I've tried everywhere.. but other than that they're nice people. Especially because my hands shake . they question it a lot though... but they always tend to pamper me a little bit more but then I start to feel bad because they start to treat me pretty much like a baby.. btw they only have silver and gold chrome powder.. Now getting a manicure is difficult but whenever I look at people going out pedicure facing to spend way more time on the people getting their feet done then anything else. WAY over priced for the service. I have never paid over $45 for an acrylic fill. I was charged $55 for a FILL! That is insane. On top of the paint job on both my fill and pedicure being absolute trash! They make you wait forever to be serviced then RUSH through the service. I've attempted to give this place a chance on numerous occasions. However, time and time again, their customer service is awful! The lady that sits in the front (first seat on the left) always has a negative attitude. I tried to explain to her what I wanted and she continually spoke over me. Waited 40 minutes in the pedicure chair even though they weren't busy .... didn't tell me they were waiting for more employees. The girl did an okay job, but it was just nails clipped and painted .... no lotion massage on legs, or hot stones or towels .... and charged $25. When getting brows waxed I looked up and the corners of the ceiling were covered in dust webs AND cobwebs!! I pointed it out and she just laughed!!! Okay ... so, nothing, though, compared to when I was getting the pedi, when the woman next to me (having a pedi) had a huge Subway breakfast sandwich brought in and proceeded to eat in the salon. I can honestly say this is the worst place I have ever been to have a manicure and pedicure. You should always go with your gut before entering a place, and most people only go to a regular place but I was in a bind so I stopped thinking how bad can it be? The atmosphere was very drab but my biggest problem was, I walk into the store and I told them I would like to have a gel manicure and pedicure. She pointed to a sign above that stated gel manicure/pedi for $38. I should have known it was too good to be true. Within two days after having my nails done the nail polish began to Chip and was catching up on all of my clothes, if I ran my fingers through my hair it was catching and it started peeling back so I had to start trying to get it off of my nails. I noticed a few days later the toenail started to chip or so. I contacted the company and it was right around Christmas time and told the lady on the phone that I could not get in now to have them fixed but I could after the holidays. She told me no problem just come in and they would redo them for me. I told her that any other place that I've had them done they have lasted for up to a month and I was very disappointed. It was not even two weeks when I finally walked in tonight and told the girl the problem. A man came up to interrupt the conversation and said that it is not a gel manicure and a gel pedicure. It's a gel manicure/regular pedicure. I informed them that is not what I asked the lady at the front desk for and they said to me well who was it? Like I'm really supposed to know who it was when it was when it was my first time ever being there. They continued to insist that it was not on the board saying gel manicure and gel pedicure, it said gel manicure and regular pedicure. There was no sense in arguing with these people even though it was in playing prince they insisted that they were right. So basically my nails didn't last at all but the toes lasted longer and they were trying to tell me that my nails were with the gel toes were the regular paint, so that goes to tell you regardless it was a terrible job, because the toes lasted longer with the regular polish and the nails didn't last at all with the Jill. They insisted they would not re-do my toes but they would redo my nails. After arguing back-and-forth, I finally told them that I would never return and that I would badmouth them on whatever site I could possibly and I would inform all of my friends and anyone that I knew never to enter this place because they totally suck. Just wanted to let everybody know not to go to this place, I even was a little concerned because I saw them use instruments on me that they put right back into a drawer without even cleaning them so that just goes to show you how filthy and disgusting they really are and you're at your own risk but I would not go read more

Sorry this is long... After giving Pretty Nails next to Publix in bayside lakes multiple chances, I will never be going back. Not going to lie, they give pretty good pedicures so MAYBE I'll come back for that... But definitely not anything having to do with my nails. Here's why. The last time I came in to get my acrylics removed, the lady was so rude to me, she barely talked and just maneuvered my hand wherever.. She let my hand soak in the acetone for like 25 minutes (I assume that's unhealthy because my hands started getting really dry at like 10 minutes). Then she takes the little file/drill thing and files off the disintegrated acrylic on my nail. (This is my preferred method of getting my acrylics taking off) The rest of the experience wasn't too bad besides the fact she was rude and let my hands sit too long... But by that time, I was so annoyed that I didn't want her painting my nails.. Anyways... Just now I went in to get my acrylics removed (again lol. We have a love/hate relationship) so this guy starts talking about pink and whites.. And I'm like no I don't want acrylics. I want them off. (Keep in mind I can barely understand him) and he says yes he knows. He pulls out the box with all of the acrylic tips in it.. And I said no I don't want new acrylics and he says no.. I'm taking them off.. So he starts PRYING OFF MY ACRYLICS WITH THE THIN ACRYLIC TIP.. I said what are you doing? And he says taking them off and I said oh.... Usually people soak them first. And he said I'm taking them off... And I said will it hurt? And he says no it won't hurt. He takes off the first nail and asks me if it hurts.. It didn't but that nail was halfway off anyways. As soon as he gets the first nail off.. HE THROWS IT AT ME. I don't know why. Maybe it was supposed to be funny. I don't know at all .. The next nail hurts. I say ow and he doesn't stop. I say ow a couple times... Nothing.. So I deal with the pain, despite the fact that I could have done this for free.. So he gets them off.. And files them (really badly by the way) and takes the file/drill thing to them and LITERALLY was so careless he burnt like 7 of my cuticles because he kept hitting them... Then he paints my nails... And it's not anything impressive... So if you go to pretty nails and they sit you at seat 9 and Thong does your nails..... Leave. read more

I have been there a number of times. Most of the time i receive average work. I am a licensed esthetician i have also gone to nail tech school although i never chose to get my license. Over the past serveral time they have used a drill on my bare nails and i have left there with my nail beds red and painful. This time i asked them not to use a drill to please just remove the natural shine on my nails with a file by hand. He said ok then pulled out the drill and attempted to use it on me. I pulled away. His manager said they have to use the drill on my natural nails there was no way around it. Obviously i left and went to fancy nails.
