Aside from the picturesque, majestic riverfront views, the staff was exceedingly friendly and courteous. The food is primarily buffet style dining, but it is not cafeteria food. The fried chicken is exceptional. The mashed potatoes divine. The navy beans served with fatback is the definition of southern cultural food. The peach cobbler was great, and I also enjoyed a wonderful glass of Tennessee Cynthiana red wine with my meal, distilled from one of the oldest grape varieties in a North America. It's flavor was wild and enjoyable, just like the scenery in the park. I have dined at far more expensive and exclusive establishments, but few such humble places, such as this warrant five stars. I think Crockett would feel at home here and do I give a whole-hearted 5/5.

My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would take longer to cook.
