Drove from downtown Lubbock location to a business near 34th and Ave Q. After about an hour, I drove home (about 10 miles). Smoke was coming from under the hood when I pulled into the driveway. I raised the hood to see oil everywhere! The oil cap was not put on. Checking the oil, the motor has no oil WHATSOEVER. The manager sent a wrecker to pick up the car and assured me he would "make it good". I am elderly and extremely distressed over this situation. Is my engine ruined? Will the oil pressure hold? I am posting this because I want citizens and businesses to be aware of how a simple oil change may very well affect their engine AND potentially a very large expense for themselves. I am talking a trip out of town and pray Our Father God will watch over me and remedy this situation.

I went to two Chevy dealers and both of them told me that they could not get to it for ten days! The chevron dealership on Frankfurt felt compassion for me and sent me to Ace automotive repairs at 4:30 at night. They were able to diagnose the problem within 20 minutes, and fix my car the next day at a very fair price. If you are looking for someone that is professional, honest. they are the first automotive shop that I've ever deal with that treated a woman with respect and fairly. Women and seniors I recommend them highly.

Took my truck in for a supercharger and a few other things. Two week job turned into 12 weeks. Got…read morethe truck back with an ignorant amount of issues, ran like crap if at all, ac draining into the cab, super cruise not working, would barely idle, steering wheel was crooked, security system failure, lane keep system failure, tail gate dropping on its own, several others. Nothing buttoned up like it should have been, missing bolts, retainer clips, screws, harness retainer clips, you name it. They fixed the ac issue, but the tccm lost communication out of range, so the truck wouldn't start, and they left me hanging with a dead truck from Friday morning until Monday morning. By the time they called me back I had already found several grounds that they left loose which was causing some of the issues. So basically I paid them $35k to give me back a pile of crap that I had to repair myself. Against my better judgement I took it back to them to put in a fuel pump and two gauges. After a week it still wasn't done, the truck didn't run at all at this point, they had no idea how to fix it, and got pissed when I told them I was going to have someone look at their wiring job when it was done. Found out later that there was another $1400 worth of parts to make the pump function at all, none of which was ever discussed. At that point they decided to walk away from the job and told me to come get it. Sent a tow truck for it and took it to another shop. After days of diagnostics to try and make it run, found out through the grape vine that ace automotive performance set my truck on fire, hid it and lied about it. Gave ace automotive performance the option to foot the bill to fix my truck and get it running, and instead of doing that they decided to waste a day going to lunch with the guy that had my truck and accomplished nothing in the way of getting my truck fixed, but did however admit to the guy that they did indeed set it on fire and then sprayed the top of my open motor with fire extinguisher. So now insurance is about to total my vehicle.

I followed a recommendation to Prock Automotive and pulled into this unassuming shop (my favorite…read morekind) in my well-used 5-year-old Subaru with squeaky brakes that were taking longer to stop the car then they should. Soon they called with the honest news - my brakes, though worn were not in immediate need of replacement. I asked for an estimate anyway. The price for the full job on all four corners was reasonable. So, I gave the go ahead and the work was completed quickly. Now, here's why a good shop merits this good review. Any work done by humans with human made parts can have flaws. After a few long trips with my new and better stopping brakes, I noticed the front left wheel was dusty and the rotor was wearing unevenly. I took it back by the shop for them to check out. What impressed me is that they made no excuse or gave me the line you usually get from some shops and dealers, "it's normal". Instead they, said, "we'll check it out." Check it out they, did and found that the one pad wasn't doing it's job, so instead of just patchy work, they replaced the pads with another brand and resurfaced the rotor at no charge. Now, my SUV stops more quickly and smoothly than when new. I really appreciated how they stand behind their work (or, in the case of brakes, they stand "in front" of their work). Like me, they see auto repair as a bit of a art form and honor what they do. Now, I don't have to stand on my brake pedal to stop my Subaru, but I do stand by my recommendation of this shop. Sure, I could've found a discount repair, but it is worth it to me to have a good shop like this do good work. Thanks Prock Automotive. Hopefully I won't need you for a while, but when I do, I'll be back.
