DISSATISFACTION CUSTOMER REVIEW ON PROCK AUTOMOTIVE
Attention Mr. Prock/ Owner & Shawn Eltworth/Store Manager,
It is with deep regret to come to this conclusion of writing a negative review regarding the
reprehensible work ethics performed by your employee Eddie, and the unprofessionalism of
miscommunication, including his lacking ability to communicate with his upper management in
regards to our needs that were not met at a fair rate in pricing.
Prior to the 4th of July Holiday, on Friday July 1, 2022, I made a call to Procks Automotive with
the need of helping my son, who currently, is a Student at Texas Tech. Currently, my son has an
issue with his 2014 Chevrolet Camaro RS vehicle.
Unfortunately, his A/C is not working properly, due to an A/C Compressor. As a parent, and a
Use Car Automotive Dealer/Business Owner, I contacted Procks Automotive and spoke to
Eddie regarding this issue. I identified myself as a Business Owner in the Used Car Industry. In
addition, ***I informed Eddie/Service Advisor, that I have mailed my son via UPS a
Remanufactured AC Compressor, and all I need is the installation of the AC Compressor
and Freon to get the AC Recharged. Eddie spoke with me ACCEPTED TO TAKE THE JOB
and FINALIZED a PRICE for this job to be $350.00, with tax included.
After speaking to Eddie/Service Advisor, he promised me that they will start working on my son's
car effective immediately after the Holiday on July 5, 2022, and have it ready for delivery for my
son to pick up. In addition, I asked Eddie to work on a better price for me ;nevertheless, he
informed me that his manager just left for the day; but he will speak to him on Tuesday, after the
Holiday, on giving me a discount. Eddie NEVER called me to discuss any discount on pricing,
nor did they ever get started on fixing the issue on my son's car. I called on Wednesday July 6,
2022, to see if the car was completed, Eddie informed me that they were backed up and have
not yet started on resolving the issue on my son's 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, nor has he spoken
to his manager.
Today is July 8, 2022, I called Procks Automotive and spoke to Eddie/Service Advisor regarding
my son's vehicle, checking to see the trajectory of completion of the work, regarding the A/C.
Eddie informed me that they will get started with installing the AC Compressor today. Later in
the afternoon, Eddie called me to inform me that they don't install Remanufactured Parts, which
forces me to buy a Brand New Part for $452.00, which he ordered from Adelco.
In return, I spoke to Eddie and informed him that I will call him back in 1 hour, reasons why, I
wanted to inform my son of the situation so that he can make the decision on whether he wants
to move forward with the price increase and a new A/C Compressor. My son agreed with the
price given. Personally, I thought that it was too high of a price; nevertheless, to move forward,
we informed Prock Automotive to install the New A/C Compressor. Effective 1 Hour Later, My
son called me to inform me that he received a phone call from Procks Automotive informing him
that he needs to pay $1,000 more for an A/C Condenser .
I'm sure that many parents who have students that attend Texas Tech can relate to how I feel.
The Weather Forecast Reports 100-105 Degrees Weather for the entire current week, and prior
weeks. A/C is a serious issue and a need here in Texas; however, Prock Automotive finds
pleasure in taking advantage of the students at Texas Tech, and they take advantage of
increasing their prices, robbing so many people and taking advantage, using the weather as a
reason for their high prices. I made a strong effort speaking to Eddie regarding the additional
$1,000 increase. He informed me that the part of the A/C Condenser cost $378, and the Labor
cost $608.
As A Business owner, I informed Eddie the price is too high and they are taking advantage of
students and parents that have their children in Lubbock Texas. In addition, I emailed Prock
Automotive my Sales Tax ID showing them proof that I am a Dealer; nevertheless, he made no
efforts to issue me any discount price nor did he make any effort on resolving the issue
amicably. PROCK AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR IS CHARGING MY SON
$1,848.99 FOR A SIMPLE A/C REPAIR THAT COST AVERAGE
$200-$300 MAX
***After taking my call, Eddie/Service Advisor, knew from our
conversation that the A/C Compressor, mailed by me, was a
remanufactured part. He knew every detail about the vehicle;
however, he waited until the last minute to inform me that they don't
install parts purchased by customers.
At this time, I am highly disappointed at the services rendered at Prock Automotive Repair.
Prock Automotive Repair is a Serious Rip Off. I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE IN THE
PRESENT OR FUTURE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
