I had recently needed to get o-rings around my pistons changed out because I had oil seeping into my cylinders. The garage was able to get the repair done for all of my cylinders and even replaced the radiator when they found a leak that wasn't there prior to the actual repair being done. They went above and beyond to get me the repair that way it should've been done and even put in the radiator at no cost on my end. I also had to get my transmission fluid changed and they were able to do the change on a newer car and even replace the filter at a reasonable cost and even at a reasonable speed so they got the repair done in a single day. read more

Do not use this company. My Mercedes was left outside in the rain with my windows rolled down causing extensive electrical damage. I waiting 3 months to get a diagnostic test that they later claimed could not read because they erased the data. This company caused so much damage to my Mercedes that it was devastating. They refused to fix it and instead placed my vehicle in their outside parking lot and called LPD to have it tagged as abandoned instead of calling me and telling me to pick it up instead. Please stay away from this company. Pay the extra money at a professional dealership. Your import is not worth the risk. read more

Well after a long 2 month issue dealing with insurance due to engine sucking in some water, I'm replacing my engine (myself). I had it at this shop so insurance could inspect it (removing oil pan and reinstall thanks state farm) they denied claim. So had it towed home and when i go to put new engine in i see the splash shield is missing. I called and spoke with Jason. His response "hey if it was left off its gone, i don't know to say" then hangs up on me... trust me spend your money else where... and the 600+ i spent for the inspection for removing and reinstalling the oil pan guess what. it's leaking...... MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE I'VE USED. I am very disappointed and frustrated with the work I received from J Dee's imports. They lack communication skills, and professional courtesy for their customers in my opinion. I had to get my car towed to J Dees after getting a battery changed and wires were crossed. They had my car for weeks and never called me to let me know anything and anytime I would call they had no information and said they would call back and never did. The only time I got a call was to inform me that not only did they have to replace the computer module but they needed to replace the steering module. Well a week passes and my total has now gone up from 800 to 2400 and they still need to get the harness. I have been calling with no information ever given to me. I'm a single mom with two kids and I had to find a ride to take my kids to school everyday for a month and a half. Finally, they call me to get my car and I go and pay and pick it up and as soon as I get in I notice that my gauges, blinkers, key fab, and later on notice my trunk wont unlatch. I am still in the parking lot and go right back inside and say that I just paid $2400 to not have my vehicle almost two months and its not even fixed right. The guy tells me that the person that picked it up and drove it down the street isn't a mechanic so he didnt know and if I wanted it fixed right it would take more time and cost me more money. That was literally all the money I had so I had to take it home. I am a young woman who knows nothing mechanically and I noticed before I even put the gear in reverse that the gauges weren't working. The fact that they took my money and I did not get a drivable car is devastating to me. It has been probably 6 months or so and I still am unable to drive that car because they did not fix it right the first time and wouldn't fix their mistake of over charging for a job they did not deliver on while not keeping me informed. When I tried to be nice and see if they could fix it to where I could at least drive it without getting pulled over for no blinkers they were rude, unprofessional, and in my opinion greedy. I will definitely be suing this company when I have a little more money saved. I have all of my call logs and calls recorded with them along with my bill. Another bill for a car I had to go buy and every time I tried to call and get any information. Along with recordings of our conversation of me asking if they could fix my car since I paid them 2400 and them denying me any decency, taking ,my money, and telling me I'm out of luck. I have also went to Alderson and it could have been a simple fix I just have not had the money to pay them for a job I already paid for. These guys are either lazy, don't care about their work, or just thieves that take peoples money and guarantee but don't deliver. Great shop that changes fair prices. Don't get caught in the dealer parts loop - it's a corporate ripoff! J Dee's does all of my maintenance on my BMW and I couldn't be happier with their work. I came in initially and told them what the local dealer said my car needed, and they told me that 1 of the 3 items was an outright scam and not needed, then they performed the other 2 items for nearly 1/3rd the cost of Alderson. Don't expect to be greeted with a hot towel and ice water, but they do a great no-frills job. read more

I have used J Dee's several times now for my Mini Cooper, which isn't the easiest car to work on. They are open and honest on what they think needs to be done, what can wait, etc. This last time it needed work on the clutch. Unfortunately the aftermarket slave cylinder failed, twice. I was lucky to be at work and at home when each failure happened. They quickly sent a tow truck and never charged me for any follow-up work, including having to finally order a genuine Mini part. Since then it has worked (I'm still paranoid, can't help it lol). Jason was extremely good to work with and always made sure I was happy with their work and how they handled things. read more

I already knew not to go to Messer VW so I tried Street VW Amarillo. Don't go here either. I had a terrible experience there and they didn't fix my car after 2 weeks. I heard about these guys that left VW and started their own company. But no one knew where they were located. Well, God let me hunt them down and I ended up leaving my car with them. And of course, that company is J Dee's Import Garage. Awesome folks. Any way, the outcome was that my car was only a few miles away from the timing belt breaking and ruining my valves/heads and possibly costing me up to $3,000.00 or more to fix. I think I said that right. You men will know what I'm trying to say. Although the other place had replaced my water pump they missed the timing belt. Don't know how since the belt wraps around the water pump. I saw the belt. It has little lines or grooves that run vertical along the inside of the belt. There were sections of the belt that the lines were broken off or entirely missing. Bottom line is J Dees gets 5 stars from me and if you own a VW......This is the place you want to take your car. read more

My objective review has to go off the service they provided me. I went in needing an engine replacement and after a month of waiting I received my car back after they replaced it and said they test drove it. After they charged me, I then drove home and realized none of my electronics worked (update: took it to a second shop and told me that fuses were manually switched around in the fuse box. They may have a possible civil suit coming for that) and the engine over heated after a few miles of driving. They failed to claim responsibility after being confronted, so my money will be spent elsewhere to fix the new issues. If you need a new engine and don't mind waiting over a month, this is your garage! read more

This is an independent import garage owned by a guy who used to work at the local VW dealer and started his own business. I've been to both the dealer and to J Dee's, and the labor rate here is lower and the level of expertise appears to be higher than at the dealer. I've had some complex repairs done here for about 30-40% less than the quoted dealer rate. They will drop be me off at work immediately after I give them my car. Jason (the guy who runs the business) is a very nice, honest and knowledgeable guy. I'm actually more likely to own a used VW knowing that these guys are in town to keep it running. read more
