I arrived in town on Friday for a wedding weekend and needed a same-day dress pressing--at least, I thought that's all I needed, until I took one dress out of my suitcase to discover that it had attracted a big black smudge in transit. Same-day anything when it comes to dry cleaning is not as easy as one may think (I should know this by now)! After visiting one cleaners and being told that in order to have my garments back the same or next day, I'd need to drive them myself to the plant on the outskirts of town, I, with little hope, popped into Presto Cleaners. They were so helpful! They pressed my first dress--the one I needed for the rehearsal dinner that night--on the spot, and assured me that while they couldn't dry clean the second dress in time, they could spot-treat the stain and press it that same day. This was at noon...by 5 PM I had two fabulously spotless, pressed dresses, for about $8. Reliable and so very helpful--thank you, Presto! (PS. Rip Off I am absolutely dumbfounded. Several days ago I dropped off one shirt for pressing and one sweater for dry-cleaning. When I picked up my two items today, I was charged a total of $19.75 for the two items. What?! So, I questioned the sales person as to what they charge to dry clean a sweater. And much to my amazement, I was told that I was being charged the price of dry-cleaning a coat because .... my sweater is lined and has three buttons on the front. What?! Again I questioned the price I was being charged and the validity of this decision, of which I was never consulted. And the only response I received was, "I'm sorry, sir." I have used this cleaner exclusively for all my shirt laundering needs for years, and will never support this company again. read more

Presto Cleaners has a convenient location north of Shops on Roosevelt with a cute, retro vibe on the outside. The inside is another story completely. Quality and service are something extremely lacking here. My silk comforter had a tear and needed to be cleaned. I took it to Presto for both the mending and cleaning - worst mistake I could have made. When I brought it in they quoted me $50 to clean since it was down filled. Pricey, but it was worth it to me to have it done. I wasn't quoted a price for mending until the next day; they called me to quote me $40 to repair the tear. I should have hung up, immediately picked up my comforter, took it to my regular place of alterations and found a different cleaner, but I wanted it done. I got it home, and as I was taking it out of the plastic bag they put it in, I immediately noticed something was wrong. The texture of the silk completely changed! It was almost as if a filmy substance was on it. The comforter had been cleaned numerous times before (and for much cheaper, I might add) without issue. I immediately called back and said they were something wrong with the finish of the comforter and was promised a call back from Lee Ann. I did receive a call back, which I missed, and called them back. I was hung up on the first call as they were getting Lee Ann. I called back a second time and received another person who was able to successfully put Lee Ann on the phone without hanging up on me. As I was explaining to Lee Ann my issue, she said, "We did it how we do all other comforters." I told her it was a silk comforter, she then changed her story and said, "We followed the care instructions on it." Hard to believe because the tag, also made of silk, has no text on it anymore. She then said, "It's not like it was a new comforter anyway. That's why I called to quote you for the repair." The comforter to me was worth the price to have repaired and cleaned because it was an expensive purchase originally, one that I'd like to keep for years to come. She offered to look at it again, but I know from her poor customer service it would be a waste of time and energy. I think the only positive thing I can say about Presto Cleaners as a business is they have a fast turn around. However, between the high price of services along with poor quality of customer service and craftsmanship, I can confidently say I will never recommend Presto Cleaners to anyone. read more

I have never given a negative review before but to say that I am disgusted and appalled is an understatement. First, after spending over a few hundred dollars to have some clothes dry cleaned, they weren't clean at all. When I addressed the issue, I was treated like I owed her a favor for giving me my clothes back dirtier than when I dropped them off. I guess I am the jerk who assumed that when I pay a cleaner and tip well too that they would in fact clean! So after being mistreated and told that lint and hair are in the air and there is. I thing wrong with my dirty clothes, I opened the bag and asked her," would you pay someone for this job?" She said, "ok let's send them back. " I hesitantly gave them back to her and mentioned that I didn't feel comfortable leaving my things with them again. She said, "I ain't gonna do nothing to your stuff." 4 days later I pick up my clothes again and they're dirty and smell of smoke. I had dresses for a funeral in them and I said I want my money back. She said I will not get my money back. I said well when I go to work, I do my job. Perhaps maybe cleaners should clean so in my opinion, this was not only inconvenient and rude but also theft. I am out a lot of money with more work to show for it than before. read more

They say it's in their policy to call you before they donate your things, but that didn't happen at all. I'm furious and I hope I find my coat. I just paid to get it tailored before I had brought it in. The lady giggled on the phone to me and was quite rude. Never going there again. read more

This is the worst dry cleaning experience I've ever had! I took my down comforter in to be cleaned as it had a few spots that needed treated from pets. I paid $52 for the service. They never called me to tell me it was ready, as previous dry cleaners have. When I brought it home I took it out of the plastic, excited to have a clean comforter again. Not a SINGLE spot was removed. The comforter feels rough now and is just as dirty as before. For $50, this is completely unacceptable. I tried to support a local business but will never go back and will warn others about the service. So disappointing. read more

I have been taking my work blazer to Presto Cleaners. Every time I have been there it costs $10.07. Today I went to pick up my blazer and I was told $48.00. I was totally shocked. To start with they had my order mixed with someone else ,which is scary enough. After straightening that out I was told $20.10. I told them that was double what I usually pay. The girl at the counter said we didn't raise our prices. If that is true why am I paying double what I usually do. Basically she was calling me a liar and that I don't usually pay $10.07. She told me my blazer was a winter coat charge. It is not a winter coat. It is a suit blazer. When I called to talk to someone they too were of no help. I said to double the price in 2months time is raising prices faster then the economy goes up. She said they didn't raise the price. When she looked in the computer it showed the same jacket 2months ago did only cost me $10.07 but she didn't credit me. So in essence they did double the price. Don't ever take your clothes here if you don't want to be overcharged. read more
