We ordered a new dishwasher through Home Depot, but they said the pipe under the kitchen sink…read morethat's connected to the dishwasher would need to be replaced in order for them to install the new one. I sent Yelp and direct-website-messages to 7-8 companies. Most of them never even bothered to respond (despite sending follow-up messages) and 2 said they don't do that sort of work even though they are plumbers? WaterMac not only responded quickly, but they were able to come out to inspect quickly, and he was even able to fix it in the same trip. The technician also gave me separate quotes for other things he noticed that could use some work, and I was able to pick and choose which ones I wanted done right then and there, and I have the quotes in my email to reference if I want to go ahead with additional service later on. I can't speak on the price, since I got no responses from other places to compare with, but I appreciate WaterMac being responsive and communicative. The technician Justin was also right on time and very professional. One thing to note is that they charge $60 to come out and quote, but if you go with them for the service too, they will put that $60 towards the bill.

Imad was the best plumber I've worked with. I called him at 1030pm Saturday night for a leak issue…read more- he answered right away and came to my house the following morning. Quickly resolved the issue and even asked me if I wanted to complete the project myself as the rest would be easy, and essentially I wouldn't have to pay for certain charges. I declined and said that I would feel safer if he finished the project. He quickly went to a supply store to get the correct parts, installed them, gave me great advice, and great price for everything. I had another plumber come to my house a few days before calling Imad - they immediately said the solution would be to tear down a wall to get to the back of the shower (without even attempting to fix it). This would have cost me thousands of dollars. Imad fixed the problem without having to tear down anything. Also very professional - would highly recommend. Thanks Imad!

They sent someone the next day, and they said absolutely nothing about a service charge or any kind of charge for coming out to look at the leak. The guy told us that it's an easy fix we can do ourselves. Great. Then he charges us $95 (plus tax because we used a credit card, not having tons of cash lying around) as a "service charge." For coming to the house for 10 minutes and telling us to do the job ourselves!! Unbelievable. If you "have to" charge a "service charge" (and he said it's because we called the company "through Google"?? what??), you absolutely need to tell people that beforehand instead of springing it on them at the end of the visit. It's just so shady.

I own a 110 year-old house in Brooklyn. I have lived here for 33 years…read more Our clay sewer pipes are as old as the house and we were tired of late night sewer clog emergencies. So, after 33 years of procrastination, we decided to do the big-dig and have our main sewer line replaced. In Brooklyn, I found two companies that specialize in Sewer Main replacement I selected Main Man Water Works because they had a higher yelp rating than the other company and my next door neighbor had good results when they used Main Man Water Works to replace their sewer main. We called Scott, Main Man's master plumber, scheduled an estimate the same week, and started the work by the following week. The sewer main replacement took two days, from start to finish. They were able to tunnel under our front steps and front porch so both survived the ordeal undamaged. (Hip, hip hurray!!) The new sewer line was installed and working on the first day. On the second day, the job was finished, including hooking up an active storm drain into the sewer line (somehow skipped on the first day), replacing the cement walkway, and replacing a small section of cement floor that had to be removed in the basement near the pipe traps. For the main job, the installation of the sewer-main, they know their stuff inside-and-out, and that part was worry-free. The second day was also ok, but we had to ask them correct a few of the finishing details. For clarity, here are the finishing details we had ask them to correct. We had to ask them to spend more time tamping (packing down) the filled soil. Extra tamping takes more time & delays pouring the cement walkway, but reduces the risk of a sinking, sagging walkway in a few years. When pouring the cement, they initially left out the expansion joints and we had to ask them to add expansion joints (heavy felt strips) in the cement in order to reduce risk of future cracking. Finally, when restoring the pit for the sewer trap, they were initially going to make the pit twice as large. At our request, they moved the wood backer-boards before pouring the cement and restored the pit to approximately the original size. In summary, their work is very good, but be prepared to oversee and correct some of the finishing details near the end of the job.

I hired Scott and his team to replace a leaking lead water main, and overall, I'm impressed with…read morethe speed and quality of their work. Scott gave me a quote over the phone and coordinated the timing with alternate side street parking to make sure the street was clear. On the day of the job, a crew of 4 arrived with multiple trucks and took their time to determine that the water line curved to the side. They opened the street, the sidewalk, a hole in my front garden, and the basement. They dug the holes, found the original line underground, replaced it with copper, and had the entire site filled, covered, and swept clean by just after 2:00 PM. It's labor-intensive work and the crew was incredibly fast and clearly knew what they were doing. They didn't need anything from me other than basement access and worked straight through without issue. At the end of the day, one of the guys even helped me replant my lavender, which they had carefully removed in one piece earlier in the day to save it. While the technical work was excellent, the on-site experience was a bit stressful. Scott was not at the job site, though the crew was able to give me the updates I asked about, and one worker in the basement was visibly frustrated with cutting through the stone foundation. If you want the job done quickly and correctly, I highly recommend them. Just be prepared to be proactive about talking with the crew or asking for the supervisor if you need a clear play-by-play of the progress. This team will be my first call if any more work with water lines or sewers comes up.
