My system is from 2010, and I was not looking for an upsell on the unit. I sent him a couple of pictures, and he stated that he had a couple of the pulleys in stock. He had Melissa (A very friendly and knowledgeable lady) call me to provide the cost breakdown. The service price was a standard $230 (everyone else I called was in the same range), but the parts cost is what won my business, only costing $30 per pulley. All the other companies were charging between $130 and $180 for the part; some others even stated it could take a week to replace the pulleys. As I mentioned earlier, with the gate being down, time is crucial, and this is where the company earns such a great review. They were able to get Nick over the property within the hour. Nick knows what he is doing; the unit looks clean. I felt comfortable going back to work and letting him complete the repair. Thank you to all three people who made this situation easy to deal with at such a great price. I look forward to having you do a yearly inspection on my gate from now on.

I wanted an estimate for updating my existing security gate system…read more I spoke with Adrian, and set up an appointment for Monday morning. When he didn't show up, I called him and was informed (incorrectly) that the appointment was for Wednesday morning. He asked if Wednesday would still work. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and said yes. At 10:20 today, Wednesday, he calls and says he just left another appointment and would not make it out because he had to go to North County. He even had the nerve to ask if I still wanted him to come out another day. I cannot believe that this company treated me so disrespectfully, and I would advise anyone considering obtaining an estimate on a security gate to look elsewhere.

Can't say enough good things about MPI!…read more From initial visit/estimate, to final walkthrough, Adrian and his team were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and committed to the highest quality product and installation, as well as client satisfaction. Daniel and Zeke started the fence early Monday morning and finished it that afternoon. They had the small gate finished by Tuesday afternoon, and the big gate was done by Wednesday afternoon. Daniel even came back Thursday after the work had been finished because he wasn't happy about one of the wobbly posts on the small gate, so he came back to secure it to the adjacent wall so it would be more secure. The team was very quick to communicate progress updates, issues, etc., and answer any questions or address any concerns. After seeing how great the fence turned out, my husband said he wishes we'd had MPI replace the rest of the fencing around our yard (it's still in good condition and rather a low priority). Needless to say, we'll definitely ask MPI to come back and do the rest of the fence once we've knocked out some higher-priority projects around our house!

TL;DR - Didn't show up for estimate appointment…read more- No heads up communication on missing appointment - My business did not seem as important as others - Would rather offend someone, than try to gain business back after a 3 star review --------------------- UPDATE (moved review down to 1 star because of Paul's response) To respond to Paul's response on my review I understand things do happen, and unfortunately it happened with my project. My review is based on my experience with your company and I didn't feel like you wanted to work with me on my project based to the reasons I listed. Which is why I gave you the 3 star review initially. Yes, you might work on all different types of projects but I wouldn't know because I didn't get passed step 1. Yes you offered to do a make up appointment, but I had to contact you first to even find out you were out of town and couldn't make the appointment we agreed upon. I would still be stuck in limbo if I didn't text you. I could easily accept all this as a missed opportunity , but instead of trying to win my business back, you decided to throw a shot at me by replying with this quote of projection: "Projection refers to unconsciously taking unwanted emotions or traits you don't like about yourself and attributing them to someone else." Thanks the quote. This really shows the type of person you are and how you would treat people if they ever had a disagreement with you. I'll be sure to pass my experience on to others looking for contractors for fencing. I hope the readers on Yelp understand why you earned the 1 star review I gave you. ------------------------ Contacted Aanco through Yelp and received a reply a few days later. Spoke with Paul through text and scheduled a date/time to do an estimate. They were a no show for the appointment and I had to follow up with them to find that Paul wasn't going to make it due to being in LA, according to his brother Eric. Eric did state that he could come by in 3 days to do an estimate, however, I told him I would move on to other contractors. I was told, good luck with my project. Aanco might be good at installing fences, but this was a bad first impression. I took the missed appointment and lack of communication as my project is too small for them and wasn't worth their time.
