If you are reading this review, I can pretty much assume that you are looking for a shop you can trust and take your foreign car to be serviced. There's a saying that goes something like this, if you're looking for something and you find it then you can stop looking. There is no need to look further. In fact you can stop reading this review. But if you want to read my experience read on but seriously there is really no need too. You and your vehicle will be in good hands. A warning msg. appeared advising me to pull over slowly and call the nearest service center because of a charging malfunction. Never a good thing to see, especially if you are 40 miles from home and it occurs on a hot and humid Friday afternoon and the beginning of the July 4th three day weekend when most shops would be closing soon or had already closed . My first thought was this is not good and I have to make it home. My next thought was that there was something wrong with the alternator and I knew that would likely be a costly repair. No good deed goes unpunished, especially if you own a BMW. I was able to make it home and on following Tuesday I began making calls to the BMW dealer where I have been taking the car for years. Yes calls. The phone would ring and ring and finally put me through to voice mail to which no one ever called me back. At 1 PM after repeated attempts to get through to a service manager and without having my left messages returned, I finally called and spoke to the dealership operator who stayed on the line with me until someone picked up. When the phone was finally answered by a person and not a machine I informed the rep of my issue and was told that the earliest available date I could have the car looked at was near the end of the week and that a loaner car would not be available. Needless to say by this time I was flaming hot and replied back that I would be looking for another place to have my "Ultimate Driving Machine" serviced. Every dark cloud has a silver lining. While waiting for the dealer to return my calls it gave me time to peruse the internet to look for another BWM mechanic that was closer to where I live. By some sort of fate and answered prayers I stumbled upon Prestige Automotive Solution. When I called, the phone was answered by the second or ring by the owner himself. When I explained the issue I was having with the car he told me that he too suspected that it was likely the alternator. He also told me that he was quite busy but he would work me in. I dropped my car off on Tuesday and by the end of the day Aries had diagnosed the problem and to my surprise it wasn't the alternator at all but instead it was only a broken belt. He also informed me that the tires were worn past the warning tread, the battery should be replaced along and the rear brake pads. What really blew me away was when he told me how much it would cost. As he was describing everything that was needed, the dollar signs in my head were accumulating faster than I could imagine. But when he presented me with the final amount to do all the need work I was shocked. I agreed to have all the work done. He ended up replacing the belt, plus replaced the battery, replaced and balanced the tires , replaced the rear brake pads and sensors, front wheel alignment, diagnostics, and reset the onboard computer for a lot less than what I thought I would have paid the dealer to replace the alternator alone. And that's my silver lining. And for me, I have no need to keep looking for something that I have already found. read more

This is hands down the best European (BMW/Merc) shop in the area. I've been looking for a place to service my cars and this shop is by far the most knowledgeable and service oriented. The owner himself is a BMW enthusiast and he and the shop really understand euro cars. Personally they fixed an issue on my X1 that other shops quoted at 3x the price to replace major components rather than fix the underlying issue. The owner Aries quickly found the actual problem and was able to fix the car and now it runs perfectly. In addition their prices are very fair and they're very transparent about how to keep your car running optimally. 5/5 highly recommend. Biggest tip is to call ahead as they can get pretty busy. I was referred here with high regard from Brad of Carmax and was met with an exceptional level of service. The owner, Aries, was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions and concerns. The other mechanic (did not get name) who was helping me was also very courteous and eager to assist me. Although I had a very specific and labor intensive issue, he was understanding and took the extra time to ensure my vehicle was in proper condition before returning my keys. I noticed their body shop mainly services BMW vehicles but I wouldn't be surprised if they were able to service other makes (mine is a Nissan 370Z). I was referred to this truly prestigious shop by a friend after being railroaded by BMW Excluservice (they quotes me ~$9K for an engine swap after conducting one compression test within 20 minutes of dropping off my car). The thing is, Aries and his team truly cares about you as a customer and for your vehicle. That is such a hard quality to find in the auto repair industry. My bogus $9K quote turned into $1,500 with PAS. Aries really took the time to review the diagnosis with me and he helped to ensure I was paying a fair price for parts/labor. I have been going here for years and I bring both my BMW's here and have no complaints. Even when he is business he takes his time on your car to get it right and he is very knowledgeable about these cars. He will make any accommodations to give you good service. He doesn't try to make a extra dollar on you because he has plenty of business, customer satisfaction is his main goal. When my car gets fixed by him I don't see him again for about another 1 to 2 years because he makes sure your car is In good health before you leave. I won't take my BMW anywhere else but Prestige for maintenance and repairs. This shop was recommended to me by Gaithersburg Carmax when I bought my 135i because they accept the warranty (not everyone will). I've had to take my car in for a few warranty issues and Aries has always been thorough with his work but exceptionally fair with his rates. Since my first experience with Prestige I've given up taking my car to "cheap" places for maintenance (like Jiffy Lube) and now only let Prestige touch my car. Let's face it, all of us are afraid of getting ripped off for auto repairs; or getting your car back with something new to fix. Not with these guys. If you need a place to get your BMW repaired, this is the place! Aries the owner truly knows and loves what he does. Let me tell you just one of many stories. My car wouldn't start and it was parked in an office garage in Fairfax. There was no way a tow truck would have been able to get into the garage. Aries drove all the way from Maryland to Fairfax at 9pm carrying everything he could possibly think of including a battery booster, a new ignition switch, fuel pump and guys are you ready for this?..... GAS, in case my car was out of gas! He brought all of that and more, and fixed the car! He has the biggest heart. Aries has been working on my cars since 2010. Not only does he do an amazing job, he's the most honest mechanic I have ever known. He did work on my 335i, drove the car back to me (during which he tested for leaks and did a valve check), noticed a problem, drove the car back to the garage, fixed the issue, drove to me again and then because I didn't have access to cash told me I could pay by credit on his mobile credit swiper OR I could pay him later. I paid him a week later and he never hounded me. Aries will never steer anyone wrong. The simple fact is, he cares more about you and your car than he does about his wallet and THAT is what makes this the ONLY place I go for everything from a headlight bulb all the way to blown turbos. read more

For those of us in the DC metro area who've been looking for an alternative to high-priced BMW dealerships and the few independent BMW shops in the area, look no further! Prestige was recently started by an alumni from a well known local BMW dealership. I was told about Aries (Prestige Auto) by a co-worker of mine who's a gear head and has worked with Ares before. To start: I have an older E46 M3 which threw an SMG error on a Wednesday night on my way home. I got home, sent Aries an email at about 8:22PM, to my surprise he responded in minutes with my SOS and got me in the shop by 9AM the next day. Once there Aries plugged in the car to some diag equipment (I think he has the successor to the BMW-DIS) and pulled up all the fault codes. After a few minutes he indicated that the SMG pump was probably not the cause and suggested we don't make any unnecessary repairs until the SMG throws another error. While there I asked him to perform a minor service which he did. As soon as he opened the engine splash cover he called me in to the bay to show me a nasty oil leak my m3 had developed. In a few minutes had me in a loaner and back at work while he did surgery. Long story short, he performed the minor service (at less than 1/2 price of the dealerships in the area), performed extensive diagnostics on the OBDII logs of my car showing me everything he found, patched up a nail in my tire, and replaced a cracked HID harness socket, and fixed an oil leak behind the thermostat of my car for about 1/8th what a dealer would charge... and a few hundred below what I'm used to from the independents in the area. Misc stuff: the shop is pristine, partly because its new (open since Feb I think he mentioned), but also because they keep it clean. The waiting room is basic, but clean and comfortable. Aries also has a second technician working there with him. Most importantly, Aries knows what he's doing (I counted 3 M3's in his parking lot LOL!). Also, while I went to him for my M3, I spotted at least one Audi and a Subaru there- and I know he services all types of cars. To say this was a 5-star visit is the understatement of the year. read more

Based on earlier reviews, I started using Prestige Automotive Solutions a couple of years ago initially to perform needed maintenance on my 2015 BMW 328d wagon and more recently on my 2016 BMW X3 28d. I have been extremely pleased with the exceptional service quality and responsiveness. The cost is very reasonable and considerably less than having the same work performed at a BMW dealership. Recently, I had the misfortune of an accident which caused $10,000 + of damage to the front end of the X3. I immediately contacted Aries and he assured me he would be able to get it taken care of. Indeed he did a terrific job of working with the insurance company, getting the needed work done and ensuring that all the replacement parts were original BMW parts. I could not have been happier with the results. The car drives just like it did before the accident. Everything works as before and the front end of the car looks brand new. This is a great place to take your vehicle if you need work done! More specifically, a REALLY great place for automotive work if you have a BMW, but it's an all around great shop for all cars I'm sure. It's a clean and well kept shop, it employs very professional mechanics that do fast work at very reasonable rates. It's owner managed, and the owner is also the mechanic that works on your car. I live in Alexandria VA, and I was skeptical to go so far (about an hour away) for a mechanic when this place was first recommended to me, but it's well worth the drive for the quality of work, as well as the reasonable rates for parts and labor. I won't go to another shop for my BMW unless Prestige packs up and moves to another state. Please check it out before going to another shop, you won't regret it. read more

This review is long overdue. Aries helped me with fixing up my 2002 325i which was not running probably for a huge discount. The car is at 170,000 miles. Now the car runs like its new. He also took care of my 2008 M3 issue that was covered under warranty and told me he will deal with the warranty and all I had to do is pay him the deductible of $50. Besides fixing my car back to its original condition, Aries did not overcharge. Parts are always cheaper to buy from him than yourself and labor is probably the cheapest out of all mechanics that I been to. Like the previous reviews said if he's not busy he will go out of his way to drive you to work, home or drop you off at the metro. If you go to another mechanic or dealership to fix your BMW then you are either asking for trouble or jacked up prices. read more

Aries the owner of Prestige has been a friend of mine for years. He is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help. I live in PA and when my brothers BMW needed significant repair I called Aries for his advice. Although the car was already at another a shop, Aries said he would do the work. So we rented a u haul and trailered the car the 130 miles to Prestige. By the time we got there he already had the replacement motor and parts there. He replaced the motor, water pump, clutch, window regulators, a wheel bearing etc. He even delivered the car back to us! I gave him a lift back, then helped me with my car.
