I went out of my way to clearly communicate my expectations before the move: everything needed to be fully wrapped and handled with care. They acknowledged it. They agreed. And then they showed up and did the exact opposite. They didn't even bother to wrap my furniture properly. My dresser and my nightstand were rolled out on a dolly with just a blanket draped over the top -- the entire bottom fully exposed and unprotected. I have photo evidence. This wasn't a mistake. This was how they operate. One of their movers was missing for half the move, and the rest of the crew took 30 minutes to drive across the street. Yes, literally across the street. The level of carelessness and unprofessionalism was beyond anything I've ever experienced. When I confronted them with proof, they first admitted the crew took shortcuts -- then quickly flipped the script and tried to claim that throwing a blanket over a piece of furniture is their "standard practice." That's not a standard -- that's pure negligence, and they had the nerve to defend it. They refused to take accountability. They denied the damage was their fault. And instead of making it right, they offered me a half refund and called it a "goodwill gesture." This company is a scam. They cut corners, gaslight customers, and hide behind empty policies when they're called out. Avoid 801 Moving Company like your furniture depends on it -- because it does. I wouldn't trust them to move a cardboard box, let alone real furniture.

Our experience was incredibly frustrating, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. We had a confirmed contract and scheduled move time of 9:00 AM. When that time came and went, no one showed up and we were unable to reach anyone for several hours. Calls went unanswered, messages were ignored, and there was zero communication from the company. After hours of trying to get ahold of someone, we finally received a text message stating they were "trying to find somebody." That alone should have been a major red flag -- a moving company should not be scrambling to find movers at the last minute for a confirmed job. Over six hours late, two gentlemen finally arrived in a rented U-Haul truck. They informed us they were contracted, not actual employees. More concerning, they would not admit if they were licensed, insured, or bonded -- just two individuals who came to move all my items. They wouldn't confirm if they had a company. Even worse, the owner, Alex Coombs, refused to answer calls, blatantly ignored messages, and provided no explanation, no apology, and no communication whatsoever throughout the entire situation. As of today Haula Movers has a C- rating with the BBB due to unanswered complaints. Haula Movers also has several other reviews remarking that they too suffered no shows and an owner that "ghosts" any negative feedback. The owner is affiliated with several other half-baked companies; which have plenty of negative reviews.
