But a majority is the customer service I received earlier this evening. Two employees that were at the register just were stone cold and unfriendly. But the male was the worst. Similar to a review from the last year, he just couldn't be bothered and looked at me like I had three heads when I, after paying, tried to leave on a positive note by saying "have a nice evening" to both of them. On the afternoon of 3/24, I entered a Pressed Juicery store for the very first time. I was excited because I really like their juices with ginger. They have become a daily staple that I typically buy at Safeway. My excitement was short-lived thanks to the rude and dismissive nature of a male employee who worked the register while two young female employees sat around. I said to him "I feel like I am inconveniencing you" and he responded with a rant stating that he had a "million"things to do. He upset me so much that out of principle, I actually walked back from my place to return my purchase and get my money back. Not once did he apologize. The juice was juice. A bit more watery than the type of stuff you would get at a grocery store, but juice nonetheless. I can see it being super refreshing after the gym or after a long hike, but I can't justify paying $7 for a fifteen ounce bottle of dilute juice. I'm down to come back and try the freeze, but that's about it. The lady at the counter was also a bit brusque... maybe the same one that someone talked about a few reviews down? I remember coming by last week to check out the place and I got yelled at by the same woman because there was a couple already in the place, and no more than two people are allowed. I left because I was in a rush, hopeful to come back and try another day despite feeling a bit riled up at the snappy customer service. We did it twice last week with cleanse #2 and then cleanse #3 two days later. As expected we were a little hungry throughout the day. But not too bad at all. I mean that's part of the point. We both felt better and want to do it at least once or twice a week for the forceable future. The juices are good and on each cleanse that we did we drank one juice every two hours. Cleanses are good ways to curb eating habits after consuming only liquids for 1-3 days, but they certainly do not elevate my mood or make my skin glow. I had the Greens 3, a fruits drink (apple, lemon, ginger, cayenne), and finally what I returned to Pressed Juicery for--the chocolate almond (sooo thick and delicious!). I liked the Greens 3 as it is very refreshing--the most prominent flavors are of the cucumber and the apple. The fruits drink with cayenne is spicy! For 3 years they had the apple lemon ginger cayanne drink it was delicious and helped with any low immunity and helps with energy and weight loss but one day it's just gone. I think this business should let you know when drinks aren't permanent and they should see what sells best. Also Burlingame avenue stores has been in construction over 1 year and still isn't open. Well this place is messed up. I thought I could just order something simple to be delivered as promised within 2 hours. I placed the order and I started receiving texts from Postmates within 20 minutes, the first one saying that this order had been picked up and cancelled multiple times [Not true]. After confirming with Postmates that I did in fact want the order, I called the store and talked to Oscar who went on at some length about not having the juices in stock and on and on about his supplier not giving him what he needed. After far too long, he finally conceded he could do nothing for me but he was desperate for me to know it wasn't his fault [Who cares]. Meanwhile, Postmates is offering to pick up juices most similar to my request [Not good enough]. No one is trying to route me to a store that might actually have what I want in stock or offering me a refund or even an apology for wasting my time. So I called the customer care number, and after being on hold admittedly only a brief 5 minutes was told by an automated voice that no one could help me. [Not surprised]. All told, all I got for trying this service was an hour of my Sunday lost . . . First time customer that thinks you guys are terrible. [Update] Postmates continues to text threatening to charge me if I do not cancel the order. Called and spoke to Oscar again who told me he cannot cancel the order since I placed it online. I asked the women what type of juices were behind her, as it was my first time in there, she said "their juices"... duh I know their juices... I visited Pressed Juicery (24th St.) for a little pick-me-up before going on a hike. I got the Greens 2 & Citrus 2 juice; both were really good! I'd say the Greens 2 was on the sweeter side of the green juice spectrum; I really liked it. My sister hadn't had Pressed juices before so she wanted something sweeter and not so intimidating in color or bitter. They had a watermelon mint juice (their seasonal summer special) but were sold out when we got there! Really sad about that...so instead we picked up the Citrus 2, which was pineapple based. I was really excited for this cleanse! I picked up 3 days worth of juices, plus the chlorophyll water and aloe water that was recommended to go along with it. By the third day, a few of the juices seemed to have "turned" -- especially the Aloe water, which had a funny smell on Day 3 -- but maybe that is just me being revolted after forcing down so much of this stuff! SO: I tasted most of the juices in the store. The small sips they gave me were pretty tasty. But once I got them home, I found I could barely finish an entire bottle of Citrus, Roots, and definitely not the Specialty. They were unbelievably, cloyingly sweet to me. Turns out the sugar content is quite high. Even though it's not added sugar (except for the Specialty, which uses dates) they are still quite sweet from all the fruit juice in them-- including many of their "green" juices. I get green juice from other shops frequently, and love the lightness of it. I drink juice frequently, but mostly green juice and not pineapple, grapefruit, apple, or beet. My stomach is actually more bloated and irritated than when I started from all the citrus and sugar. I should've done more research! I think I would've been OK if it was just the greens without added fruit juices. In the end, I wound up giving many bottles of the juice to homeless people, and poured several half-drunk bottles down the drain. I feel like I really wasted my money! I'm guessing these juices are great for a pick-me-up on a hot day, but if you're thinking of a cleanse, try a different route!
