I've been going to sidewalk since high school. They were the first place I tried an acai bowl years ago, and how I rate them when I get one anywhere else. I really like their base, it's never too frozen or icey. I enjoy the flavor a lot. My favorite is the berry bowl, and I add almond butter, granola, and honey. I also really like their smoothies. The perfect consistency without being too thick or watery. Service is always very friendly even when they're busy. I'll always love sidewalk juice. read more

As I was just strolling down Valencia and crossing the street, I happened to turn around and see this place. It was open and the signage really caught my eye. I ordered Friday, July 31 at 12:43pm via Uber Eats for pickup. I ordered the superpowers smoothie, but it was way too sweet for how I expected it to be. I have ordered kale smoothies before that had plant-based milk and/or yogurt in the recipe, so I knew it would be somewhat sweet, but did not expect it to be cloyingly sweet. So much so, that I returned it about 10 minutes later with most of the drink still in my cup, and asked for something else instead. The two girls that were working there told me that they would have to charge me for a second smoothie if I wanted it to be remade. I asked if that was really the case, and told them they could take the original smoothie back, and that I didn't want to keep it. One of them said, "We can't remake it just because you don't like it." Don't get me wrong, I have worked many years of customer service, and I know that it is personally annoying when a customer comes and asks for something to be remade. I get that. But I was surprised that it wasn't even their policy to remake something as just a courtesy to the customer. So, Sidewalk Juice: if your policy truly is to not make it right for the customer, then will you consider modifying your recipe for the "super power" smoothie? It was so sweet that I took a few sips and threw the rest away. And I feel like if you're familiar with kale smoothies, then you're the kind of person who can handle for a it to have more of a veggie taste. Any other non-green smoothie I think would not have gotten this response from me, but with this being a smoothie with kale, I think there could be some room for improvement. Thank you. read more

Tasty acai bowl! I got the original bowl with a twister base (half pitaya and half açaí). The pitaya is the red/purple/pink flesh variety which is my favorite. I must admit, Acai bowls from the west coast are better than the east... the fruit was fresh and the toppings were good but granola was want not the best granola I've had. I did the first one which was DOUBLE spinach/kale/ginger and apple and orange. It seemed like a good mix of anti-oxidants and all around good stuff to keep me going during my trip. My friend requested a JJ Tropics juice. I did notice that their juice was more like a thin smoothie with ice crystals and was a lot colder than my juice. I did really enjoy mine.
