With that being said, I really have nothing to compare Aliante Cleaners to. So, here's my attempt at a review: Aliante Cleaners is located in a Smiths Shopping Center. I went with this business simply because it was close to home. One of my jackets needed a button sewed on and a wrist strap thingy sewed on as well. I mean, I could've sewed it myself but ain't nobody got time for that! Total came to $6. The turn around was 3 days. Customer service is average, but the business looks new and clean. Before I come back, I'm going to try out another cleaners and see how that goes first. A girls gotta have options, right? YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2015: #35

I stopped by Mom & Pop's on Decatur to have a few items altered: a lined tulle skirt, a jumpsuit,…read moreand two pairs of pants (one just needed a new closure). While looking at the skirt and jumpsuit, the employee repeatedly commented that they were "so wide" and had "a lot of material." She then told me the alterations would be $80 for the skirt and $65 for the jumpsuit. I was surprised because the tulle only needed to be cut along with a slight hem on the lining. I was expecting a professional hem, not an unusually expensive alteration. I mentioned that the prices seemed high, so I decided to skip those items and asked about replacing the closure on one pair of pants instead. That's when she told me the seamstress wouldn't be there until Monday. I asked, "You're not the seamstress?" She said no. That left me wondering how she was able to quote exact prices for the other alterations if the person actually doing the work wasn't there. The interaction left me feeling confused and uncomfortable, and I decided to take my business elsewhere.

We got there on the original pickup date of the 16th and were told it wasn't ready. We gave them two extra days and noticed a massive gaping hole that night. We went back the next day to show them and were told by the manager that it was wear and tear. The manager said they'll fix it and I asked them to re-wash it after. He said they'll fix it and re-wash it for free, like they were doing us a favor and not just fixing their mistake. He said it'll be ready Fri, which is today. We just picked it up and you can very clearly tell the poor "alteration" job they did at the seam and clearly wasn't rewashed, but the manager was adamant that they washed and dried it this morning. It's not even noon yet, there's no way they had enough time for that. I've been coming here for years - I know what it's supposed to smell and feel like when it's washed. I had to ask for a refund on the original service since the comforter still came back worse than before. Crazy that they didn't offer it in the first place after their mistake. The manager has no accountability, will tell lies to cover their asses and is the reason why they're poorly rated.
