I had [2] pairs of pants from Express that I needed to have their hemming fixed. I decided to bring in my [2] pair of pants to Alterations by Amber Dry Cleaners. Alterations by Amber Dry Cleaners is located on the cross-streets of Farm/Durango, off of the Durango/95 exit. It's located in a small shopping plaza shared by other local businesses such as Dairy Queen, 7-Eleven, Little Caesars and much more. The parking is a little tough here and the spots are limited. If you can avoid coming to this location during rush hour times, that would be recommended. The spots are small and the parking lot is difficult to get in/out of. The Alterations by Amber Dry Cleaners is relatively small. There is one register. I brought in both pants and the gentleman said that the pants would be ready in 5 business days. There wasn't a rush on the order, so, I was good with that turn-around. The [2] pair of pants hemming cost $10.00. Both of my work pants came out great. I've had the pants now for several weeks now and the hemming hasn't come undone yet. Price is great and there was quick customer service! If I need hemming work to be done again, I'll return here in the future. read more

Took my wedding dress here to have it cut into a short dress for my anniversary. I tried the dress on and marked exactly where I wanted the dress to sit. Who ever did the alterations was definitely scissor happy. They cut my dress way too short. I requested the dress sit mid thigh and stated it needed to be a little bit longer in the back to accommodate my body shape. Well it was cut straight across and it fits more like a t-shirt than a dress. This was a custom handmade dress and in just a blink of an eye someone completely made it unusable. The man at the front is very friendly and I don't blame him at all. But whoever did the cutting and the hem definitely went way too short. I don't recommend this place. read more

I have only had one other dress hemmed in my life, so I came looking for professional advice on how my dress should be tailored for an upcoming wedding. When I tried the dress on, we both agreed it needed to be taken up at the bottom, but I felt like it should be taken in at the top as well. The man helping me started saying a few things that were a bit concerning, such as he would have to make a whole new seam and he was worried it might not zipper after, so I decided I would not take it in at the top, even though it truly felt big. I left feeling a little disappointed I wasn't getting the perfect fit for my bridesmaid dress, and also confused why he made me pay $50 upfront just to take up the bottom. That seemed high, and I thought you paid for these types of services once you picked up the garment and were happy with the work. I have since found an another seamstress who immediately noticed the dress was big, and said it was an easy fix that did not require new seams or concern for zipper after. She did not charge nearly as much for what seems like more work in my opinion. I wish I had gone with my gut and never left my dress or money at this place from the start. read more

My clothing came back smellier than I left it, the shop smells of dirty clothes, and the alterations on my pant hem was too short. Awesome cleaners. Extremely friendly. They were so kind, they called me on the phone to make sure I knew I had left something my pocket. I was shocked that they would even care enough to do that. Their prices are respectable and their service can't be beat....I don't need cool hangers or pretty bags over my clothes or fancy cardboard or plastic around my collars so I can be charged $5 for a shirt and $8 for a pair of pants to be cleaned.
