Nice, free bus for the route it travels. The Presidio GO (formerly named PresidiGo) only has a few stops on its route. The stop aren't marked like the MUNI bus stops are, but you can trust that it'll follow the maps which are on its website. For this review, I took it from the Embarcadero stop (outside the Hyatt Regency, where the MUNI 12 bus stops) and took it to the Presidio entrance. It used to be a semi free shuttle with only some times available to those who didn't live in the Presidio, but they opened it up to be fully free to everyone some years ago. There are two sizes of buses which I've seen, one which is smaller and one which is larger, but both kinds are decorated with a mostly white motif. For a free shuttle bus, it's great. My only caveat would be that it's not too frequent and the stops are very limited. read more

Accessibility: this bus lowers to the ground for wheelchair access and for people who can't step up very high. There are wheelchair locks inside the bus to keep wheelchairs stable from moving around while the bus moves. Experience: the busses are clean, most people riding them are people who live in the area or tourists going to see certain places; the busses seemed safe to me (at least during the day). read more

The PresidiGo Presidio Hills shuttle route is always free and is a 30 minute loop through the Presidio. The route originates at the Presidio Transit Center (215 Lincoln Boulevard) and connects with Muni and the Richmond District. It operates on a weekend schedule on federal holidays. The PresidiGo Downtown shuttle offers a free and convenient way for visitors to travel between the Presidio and Downtown San Francisco seven days a week. Each one-way trip takes about 25 minutes. All shuttles feature wheelchair lifts and bike racks. A free shuttle from Downtown out to the Presidio? Our group took the PresdiGo shuttle from the Embarcadero stop out to the Presidio Transit Center, which is the last stop in the Presidio. The trip takes 25 minutes and offers an easy and free to travel between Downtown and the Presidio. Our group toured the new Tunnel Tops Park and walked Crissy Fields to Fort Point and returned to the Presidio Transit Center where we took the PresidiGo bus for the trip back to Downtown. I took the downtown route and the bus driver literally would not let me get off the bus at the Van Ness and Union St stop. He told me "it's only for pickups, not dropoffs". There is no information anywhere on the shuttle website indicating that you cannot get off the bus at Union St if you pick it up at Beale St. I had to stay on Thursday bus until Lyon which is nearly 20 minutes away from my intended stop. read more

The best thing since sliced bread. Kidding but not kidding. I've lived in SF for years but I barely (rarely!) make it to the presidio because it seems so far. I didn't even know this free shuttle existed until recently. Our kid's class takes this shuttle to the presidio for day trips, which is how I found out about it. It's so convenient, safe, and fun way to get to the presidio. It picks us up from the downtown / Rincon hill neighborhood and takes you directly to the presidio (tunnel tops). read more

Pros: This service is great for locals and tourists. I find it's almost always on time and easier than driving downtown. Clean and safe. Quite fast given the route and not crowded off peak. Easy access to the Presidio. Polite and nice drivers. Free. Cons: The routes are a bit complex but the shuttle has to go to areas not served by public transpiration. I ride this shuttle to and from work everyday and everyday I see the same hot bitches. It's apparently one of the prerequisites to ride this shuttle. That and you have to be either a resident or an employee of the Presidio. My only two gripes are the windows are often closed which totally blows since I get motion sickness like a mofo. Second, the shuttle has been found out! It's no longer a secret. I suspect many who ride the PresidioGo don't live or work in the Presidio, causing my lazy ass to stand during the whole shuttle ride. I can't complain beyond those two things because that shit is free and it sure beats riding Muni while someone gropes or urinates themselves. read more

The downtown Presidigo shuttle runs more-or-less every 15 minutes in the mornings and evenings between the Presidio and Downtown. If you work or live at the Presidio, it's a free ride, but it is free to ride on for everyone else between 10am and 3pm. You can also use MUNI passports (overpriced convenience travel passes for tourists). It's a relatively fast (20-25 minute) ride between two ends of town. In the mornings, if you get on at the Embarcadero stop, there's an even chance that you won't get a seat. To avoid this, get on at the transbay terminal (only a few blocks away), before the rest of the madding crowd. Minor gripes - all the windows are tinted, and bus is dimly lit. Combine this with really poor suspension (or really bad roads) and it's not unlike travelling inside a dryer on wheels. If you want to read a book, forget it - plenty of people just doze off for the whole trip. Wake before you get to Lyon St, though. On the right hand side, out of the window: Yoda fountain - so you're free geek out every time you go past :) read more

The PresidiGo Shuttle is extremely convenient, but there is one driver that makes my commute particularly pleasant. Noah is the kindest and most courteous driver. He drives very carefully, of course, but he is also very friendly and conscious of the safety and comfort of his passengers. He doesn't slam on the brakes and the gas and the horn or cut anybody off, like some of the other drivers, and he waits until the passengers are seated before he proceeds to the next stop. He makes my morning commute more fun simply by saying hi and bye. I hope that his supervisors see this review and reward him with a raise that he deserves, because he is the best PresidiGo Shuttle driver. read more

With the new pass system it will be a nice, convenient way to get to work. I live in the Presidio and the shuttle is intended to get the residents who live in the isolated community an opportunity to get to work without a car and without hassle. Without the pass system a lot of naughty folks (from Marin & elsewhere) park their cars for free and crowd the free shuttle service. The thing is that would be okay but there's virtually no room and it seems "Buffy" and "Chad" don't want to be inconvenienced by letting people off of the shuttle (as in vacating the isle so people can exit). Now you can ride the downtown after Jan 8th if you're a PRESIDIO resident or if you buy a MUNI pass...ha ha bitches, get a pass. read more

The bus driver pulled over at Union and Van Ness. I got on, believing this bus would take me downtown. I was asked for a Presidio ID and refused service on this free bus. I checked to see if I was dressed as a homeless bum. Nope. Freshly showered. Totally normal and clean clothing. My beard neatly trimmed. I was made to get off the bus. The PresidiGo Downtown shuttle is incredibly convenient! Imagine getting all the way from the Presidio to the Embarcadero in as little as 20-25 minutes! The shuttle only stops two or three times through out the whole way (a couple within the park and one on Vaness St.), unlike the 1-California that stops every other block. This was very convenient for me back when I worked at the Embarcadero. Major improvements: Getting a seat used to be a problem if you were to get on the bus at the Drumm st., but now they added larger shuttle buses, which make up for that. Great service that runs morning to 8pm. Check the route and schedule time on the website. Very convenient! fyi, If you become a regular PresidiGoer, you'll see the same people over and over again and you'll have constant "I know you but not really" smiles back and forth. The funny thing is that people have a hard time starting conversations. haha... =) read more

This shuttle is great if you work in the presidio in SF. Some businesses give employees a free pass. It picks up at a really great location just near the BART station and other busses. The only downside is that service can be slow in the evenings leaving the presidio. read more

The PresidiGo is a reasonably efficient shuttle from Embarcadero to the Presidio Transit Center. It's not on time 100%, but i guess that's to be expected in SF. If you compare it to the overall shuttle market in SF, it's just an average quality experience. BUT. The fact that this is run by the government is unbelievable to me. Nowhere else in the Bay Area is mass transit so efficient and such a good value (granted, i am very fortunate to have a sponsored pass). It's no Google or Facebook shuttle, but for public transportation, this is as good as it gets. read more

This shuttle is awesome. It just so happens to go where I need to go when I need to go there. The ride is bumpy, but that is because it is flying! I love a bus without TB cases left and right, so basing routes on workplaces may be the wave of the future. Pay attention to the hours if you are a free rider, as commute times are prioritized for Presidio workers. I also love the ban on paper and foam cups. Hard-sided commuter cups only, please. I wish that more towns would implement these sorts of lines. read more

The PresidiGo downtown shuttle is a quick, quiet commute downtown. It has not been quite as convenient lately, however, since there is construction on the parking lot were most commuters used to park to catch the shuttle. The alternative is to take the PresidiGo Around the Park shuttle to get to the downtown stop. The Around the Park shuttle runs half as often as the downtown shuttle, and entirely stops running for the last two Downtown dropoffs, so even if you can get from the FiDi to the Presidio, you can't get the rest of the way home unless you drive and park at the Downtown stop! I take the presidigo downtown route to and from work every day. The drivers are phenomenally good people, but I've discovered that the early (prior to 8am in the morning and prior to 5pm at night) are not even slightly dependable. I've had to resort to taking the 45 or 41 when I need to travel at those times. I've been left stranded innumerable times now, waiting for buses that, according to the schedule AND the mobile site, should arrive but never do. Obviously that's kind of a pain. If the bus was as dependable at 4:30 as it is at 5:30, I'd give it 5 stars cause again the drivers are so cool, but dependability outranks even the chillest driver. read more

The PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle has continuously improved its operations, and is a great value for Presidio residents. I've been riding it since 2005, and it has saved me hundreds of dollars in monthly MUNI passes. The drivers are friendly and courteous. Ridership has swelled in the last six months, and some of the more popular shuttle times (8AM, 5PM) are packed and can be a bit uncomfortable. That aside, PresidiGo is still a strong service. Every Presidio Park resident should consider getting out of their cars and hop on this great commuter program we have! read more

Great way to get from downtown SF to the Presidio. Once at the Transit Station you can jump on one of the smaller shuttles to take you around the park. And it's all free! That's the price I can live with. Just as easy as catching a bus and they stay on schedule. Minus one star cause the shuttles rattle but the poor street conditions doesn't help. read more

This shuttle service is pretty great. How can it be free? Amazing! I recently started using it to get to work in the Presidio from Oakland; once I get off my AC Transit bus at the Transbay Terminal, I just get right on this shuttle outside and it zips me off to work. Maybe it's because I don't catch it at the height of morning or evening rush hour, but there always seem to be plenty of seats. Also it's always clean and has nice big windows to look out of as it cuts a swath through some pretty interesting sections of the city. The only drawback I've noticed so far is that sometimes the driver will play music for the entire bus to hear over the loudspeaker, which makes it pretty much impossible to read anything during the trip. read more

the presidigo is arguably the most pleasant commute i've ever had. i agree with everything positive that everyone has said--totally convenient, runs like clockwork, etc. the only negative thing i can say is not the presidigo's fault, but damn, i think everyone who lives and works in the presidio is white. everyday on the 8:15 am shuttle and every night on the 5:30, it's like a white and blonde convention. one star off for that, and maybe also for the stern 8:15am driver guy who never checks passes and grunts when you thank him. he's not the sweetest. also one thing that's kind of weird is that i see the same people everyday, and it's almost like we should be friends or something, but we don't actually know each other. one guy introduced himself, but it was in a smarmy way so that's not what i mean. but it's weird because i see "blond birthmark guy" and "girl with wide open eyes and a fun bag" and "older guy who smells like cigarettes and dresses like it's 1940" and "preppy married black jeep couple" every day and it seems like we should know each other's names at least. for now i will continue referring to them by their descriptions. read more

I work in the Presidio and this shuttle and arrival time predictor page are fairly unreliable. But I really can't complain because it is free and really nice. During morning rush hour until about 9:30 it seems to run often enough but in the evening I think rush hour traffic causes the shuttles to lump together. After 6 I am totally confused about how often it runs and the predictor page keeps changing. read more

If you're a San Francisco visitor wanting a really easy way to get to the Presidio from downtown, the PresidiGo Shuttle is it. And it's free in non-rush hours. During rush, visitors must show a MUNI Passport (1, 3, or 7-day pass). Riding off-rush will spare you the crowding. The ride takes about 25 min. At the Presidio, you can connect with an Around the Park shuttle, always free. These shuttles are mainly for Presidio residents and employees, but available to all. The buses are white and unmarked, except for a "Presidigo" headsign. The downtown stops are a bit hard to find, too.
