Fights would erupt out of nowhere (or so we thought). We were living with them separated. Two different trainers we worked with were biased regarding mixed breed/rescue dogs and left us with little hope. The rescue we adopted Joey from recommended Monique with Elite K9 Training Ranch. Our evaluation was unlike anything I have ever experienced. SHE KNOWS DOGS!!! Like, really knows dogs. Truly, she is a dog whisperer. Joey had a 4 week board and train. She gave us homework to work on with Morgan at home. I was apprehensive at first about leaving my 'kid' for 4 weeks but now she is the one we board our pups with when we go away. She cares about them like they are her own and she provides a secure, protected and balanced environment. We have now worked with Monique for over a year. Board and train for Joey in 2023 then weekly group classes in Prescott with the occasional get away boarding. Every time I am around her I learn something new and my relationship with my dogs has never been better. Looking back on the past year I can now say that I am glad our dogs fought and led us to Monique. I am a better leader and advocate for my dogs. I am a better human too. Monique's real ability is teaching us, the humans, how to be better for our dogs and how to listen to what they are telling us and be the leader they need. It takes work, dedication and patience but, wow, is it worth it! Thank you Monique for everything. Our home, ourselves and our 'kids' are so much better because of you.

I was immediately comfortable and confident that I had reached the right person . Step 1: He sent over a very detailed questionnaire, so he would know my dog before he met him. I did the 10 week at my home, which was most convenient for me. I would like to note that I travel and have a crazy schedule so we had to reschedule many times. I thank Roy for accommodating professional life. Step 2: our first in person visit Roy met Finn, my extremely rambunctious Australian shepherd/Shetland sheepdog, who loves to run out the front door and dash out into the desert, or bolt past me going down the stairs inside my house, almost sending me down the stairs . Little did I know training was as much for me, as it was for my dog. I learned so much about my dog and about me. Lots of things I thought were cute I have found are not so endearing I am still amazed. With every visit, I gained more insight and knowledge from Roy. Started out just leaving my house and working up and down my own Street. Step 3: moving from working in our neighborhood down to walking around at the park in the downtown area. Teaching Finn to sit at the corners before crossing, and not to chase after birds or other dogs. He no longer yanks on his leash. I am very grateful for the experience. I want to thank Roy from the bottom of my heart. Our lives have changed and are so much different, having a dog properly trained. Finn still has a long way to go, but I am willing to make the effort with the information Roy has given me to succeed. I plan on stopping in to his drop in classes in Kingman on Saturdays, because Finn's training will never be over, he is sly lol and he likes to get one up on me anytime he thinks I'm not paying attention. After all he is a smart dog! Roy travelled all the way from Kingman to Needles for our training, and I know he goes to Lake Havasu City and Bullhead and God knows where else If you are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced trainer, Roy is your guy . Thank you, Roy.

They are a wealth of knowledge and I successfully implemented many of their suggestions. For example, a "softer" approach to the prong collar I was using, and better timing with the remote collar. I now realize I talk too much to my dog and should use more indirect, non-verbal "pressure" to communicate commands to my dog. Jose and Monique of JD Powerhouse offer a 6-week DIY Saturday afternoon basic obedience class. I enrolled to "refresh" my ability to "communicate with" or effectively handle my dog. I have participated in various obedience classes with my dog over the years, so my dog was somewhat trained. She's a 4-year-old, American Pit Bull Terrier, with no major behavior issues. Although, she did not like when other dogs barked at her (or me) and would react for short bursts until they passed us on our daily walks. Since my dog is a 70-pound, square-headed, somewhat muscular dog, she appeared the aggressor. Jose and Monique increased my confidence and ability to maintain quiet control of my dog during our neighborhood walks. As always, I needed the training, not my dog

What I really appreciate in addition to their expertise, clear direction and upfront approach is that they didn't sell me on what I didn't need. José made it clear very quickly that it would not be the best use of money to board and train my dog, Piper. Instead, he offered me a customized package that would maximize the training and my money. That's badass. I have gone to other evaluations where trainers were trying to scare me into pick the most expensive package by over inflating the concerns I had. I left those feeling overwhelmed both by the price and by the evaluation itself. That is NOT the experience I had with José and Monique and it made the decision to choose them so easy. I highly recommend JD's Powerhouse K9 Bootcamp because you can trust that José and Monique truly care about helping you to be the best owner you can so your dog can trust you and be their best. I am quickly gaining confidence and I can see Piper is too. Also, as a side note, they are amazing humans. They do great work work shelter dogs and I know I've found my training home. Thank you so much to José, Monique and the rest of JD's Powerhouse K9 Bootcamp. You are the BEST!!!

My Malinois was unmanageable and had already fractured my knee cap while I was attempting to get any form of control I could. I was at my wits end. The growling, territorialism, lead pulling, and lack of discipline had me ripping my hair out and my nerves on end. After 2.5 weeks (unfortunately it took longer because I came down with Covid around the pick up date. Lee and his amazing crew were kind enough to keep him for me while I got better) I picked up a completely new dog and new set of tools and skills to both manage and train my baby boy. I came out of our pick up session after being trained how to manage my Ozzy. Our first night home he's completely changed into what I needed him to be all along. I'm tearing up writing this because Armor k9 gave my dog the chance to be with me when I move next month. Something that wasn't even an option last month. Now I speak directly to Lee and his amazing Crew: thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You gave me the tools I didn't know I needed with this breed. You guys are beyond amazing. Instead of calling me right away and/or getting him prompt medical attention, she waited approximately 18 hours. My vet says she may have been able to save his eye had Lucy taken him in right away. While she finally paid for the vet expenses, it was a fight and I endured her use of unprofessional, foul language in my direction while I remained calm and professional towards her. To my shock and disbelief, she thought that I should be grateful to her for resolving the payment issue! I felt no compassion from her. Instead, she called me names. In hindsight, I should have known it wasn't going to work out. I was desperate to get my puppies trained and overlooked red flags. She talked endlessly about herself and could not stay focused. It seemed I couldn't ask a single question without her getting sidetracked on some story about how great she is. She often spoke about how the other trainers in town were horrible. She told my mom that she brought the dogs to the dog park and while the injured dog was attacked. Our vet told us she could have likely saved the eye if Ms. Reynolds had sought medical attention right away. Following the attack it felt like Ms. Reynolds was doing anything and everything to avoid taking responsibility. She insisted she was an amazing dog trainer, that she would not give the full amount back for training because my mom had gotten "some benefits" from the 24 hours of training prior to the attack. She cursed my mom out, and acted very unprofessional. It took weeks to finally settle the matter.
