No greeting when I came in, no assistance finding anything, and no offer to get a fitting room started for me even though I was carrying around an armload of clothing. I ended up walking into a random open change room with probably about 15 items and still wasn't acknowledged or asked if I needed any help or if I was finding things okay (which I wasn't and could of really used a hand). Eventually I gave up, grabbed the items I had and headed to the counter where one of the staff members was standing around talking. I then proceeded to stand there waiting for several more minutes without any kind of acknowledgement, not even a "one moment" or anything while this staff member finished her conversation. I originally decided to visit this store because I was looking to buy a whole new wardrobe for back to school this year (something I haven't done in probably almost 10 years) and my mom told me how great this store was. However, after my experience today I will not be returning to this store nor will I ever recommend it to anyone I know. Rather, I will continue to order my clothing online from Torrid and Cleo (stores in Orchard Park Mall in Kelowna).

I thought I'd go to Pennington's where I assumed I would at least have a good customer service experience. I walked in and no one acknowledged me. There were 2 other customers and 3 employees. I didn't get acknowledged at all until I had my arms so full I could hardly hold any more, even though one employee had walked past me a couple of times. I went to the change room and that was the last I heard from anyone! I was in there for more than 20 minutes! I went out once to get different sizes. Not a single acknowledgement. I didn't even hear anyone ask the other customers in the change room if they needed different sizes. I left without buying the few things I liked. Luckily for me, I was able to go to a different store that was extremely busy and still had plenty of time to make sure I had an amazing experience!

The department store didn't open until the late 1800's, so I can't imagine where folks bought all their electronics up until then. lol. I spent most of my time here just soaking up the atmosphere and the history. It was tough for me to stay in the moment. They had great clearance prices on furniture and some unique housewares. I liked many of the men's clothes I saw. The problem was that nothing fit me. The store is surprisingly clean. They are (like many) short staffed. The people that were here were very pleasant and patiently answered questions of mine. If I lived in PG, I would make this a frequent stop. There is so much to see and soak up. So, here goes!! This happened to my 85 yr young mother in law on this past Monday. She had made a…read morepurchase of shoes from Soft Moc Prince George, she tried them at home for a couple days and decided she wasnt going to be happy with them. She took them back to the store for a refund, a nice female clerk helped her do the refund, gave her money back, but the till came up with error that they could not refund as they had not taken in any cash at that time. The nice female clerk called someone in the back to come out, and a male, came out and told her he could not do the refund, she would have to give the money back and come back later. Well my mother in law doesnt drive and lives out in the country, she explained that to him so he told her he could hang on to the shoes and do a refund later, she did not feel comfortable doing that. She said no, I paid cash, I am returning now, so I want my refund! She then proceeded to take the money that was given to her and go to leave the store. Believe this , the male associate reached over the counter and GRABBED her purse from her cart, he told her she could have it back when she gave him the cash back!! She was bullied into giving it back!! They then issued her a gift card, as if she would ever shop there again. Well, when we found out about this, we were livid!! Wednesday morning I call the store to speak to the manager and HE doesnt start till 10:30, I call back and ask for the manager, this male voice comes on and says, yes?? I say "are you the manager? He says yes, I ask his name and he says "D-----" so I ask him if he will be in all day and he says yes, I tell him that my husband, myself and my mother in law will be in later in afternoon to see him about an incident that happened on Monday. Well we go in to store and ask for the manager and a young lady comes out, so I say the guy I spoke to this morning said he was the manager??? Well as it turns out the guy manager is the one that grabbed her purse!! The young lady who says she is the manager say he has been suspended for a week!! Confused?? I was, the lady Manager, apologized, and after a discussion gave mom her cash back. Well we are still very upset with the fact of elder abuse so my husband called the corporate 1800# and got the confirmation the the Man is actually the manager and the girl is an assistant, Very dishonest on their part. They "corporate" were not to concerned about any of it, but confirmed the he was indeed suspended, for a week. He also asked that the regional manager maybe give him a call and was told that they just do not have time to call customers!! This store does not even compare to the location in Pine Centre Mall. It may seem slower than the…read moremall but the staff are also slower to serve than in the mall. If they can't answer your question they just tell you to go to the mall. Next time i will save myself the grief and just drive down to the mall where i can get some answers and some real help. EB Games is a great company but the college heights location does not measure up at all.
