They stock yarns that are not normally seen on shelves in craft chain stores or in my LYS. Now that my skills have improved, I decided to order some Scheepjes yarn, a Dutch company that has some of the best looking yarns of every colour, weight and, fibre content I've ever seen. I also bought Lion Brand Basic - not readily available on shelves around the Lower Mainland. I ordered online on Black Friday and received them by the following Tuesday! I'll definitely be reordering in the very near future.

This…read moreLYS (Local Yarn Store) caters to knitters of all skill levels and was the location where I first purchased yarn outside of a chain store. In addition to their large selection of beautiful speciality yarns, Top Drawer sells high quality needles and has a variety of gorgeous projects on display to spur on your creativity. There are few places to sit and the cozy atmosphere of the room is the perfect place to spend a hour or two. I've often come in to see a few women with their projects on their laps, and the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. When I was last in, this January, I didn't even make it through the door when I was greeted and asked if I could be helped. Follow the signs from Books and Company, and take a trip up the stairs; you'll be glad you did!

Kayda regularly gets new items/fabric in. She is very knowledgeable about fabric and quilting. If she doesn't have something I am looking for she will always try to get it in for me. I can't say enough about this wonderful shop. Hands down it is the best quilting shop in Prince George and area.
