Beware - they are operating a bait & switch scam. I was quoted $825 to ship a car from LA to CA, which I confirmed with them would be "an all-inclusive service package that covers everything". They were initially supposed to pick the car up on Friday, and I had called ahead to confirm that the driver would be there between noon and 4PM, but when they never showed up, I was told "there is shortage of drivers on the route since most of the drivers are on hold for their DOT inspection which is ending on Saturday.". At which point he promised me it would be picked up by Monday. On Monday morning, I was then told "As there is currently a very high demand of the vehicle on this route, driver availability is extremely limited. Because of this, the carriers that are operating are increasing their rates due to market demand. The driver we secured is asking for $2,125 to get the job done.", which was nearly 3x the price they initially quoted me. I elected to cancel the job and request a refund since this is clearly a fraudulent business. And finally find out about the spam message when Justin told us it's probably in spam because of no title (why I Believe it was intentional) The driver is now late and we haven't been able to contact them .. finally hear from them and their vehicle is broken down and unable to pickup... Estimated repair is next day, very confident he can make it. Next day, still no comms and late again, we can Justin and the driver to find out that the truck is down hard, but good news, there's a driver that can do it at double the cost. If I could give negative stars, I would. This whole outfit and process is a total scam and it's unfortunate the BBB doesn't regulate this better. The quote they gave me was so reasonable, I completely rearranged my travel plans so I wouldn't have to tow the car myself. I mean, sure, im looking for a good deal- I'm a single mom, taking my daughter to college in another state. When it came down to actual shipping, suddenly my broker, "David", did not have a driver and everyone that was available wasn't on a regular route so the price quadrupled. Even though I confirmed the contracted price in writing was the total cost, they lock you in with their scam in the fine print (which I read and why I confirmed the price) stating the price is subject to the drivers costs and since noone is running that route, theyre wanting way more. I challenged that the contract price and the new price wasn't even in the same ballpark and was told the "system" just puts a number in. Their service fixes were: a) decline the service. There is a $200 cancelation fee. I paid a $150 deposit so they "offered" to waive the 200 and apply the 150 as my cancelation fee. B) pay the current rate- they'd have a driver there that day. Then lastly they offered to keep looking for a driver who would accept the rate I originally paid. My broker came back a few hours later stating he located a driver that agreed to the original contract price but pick up wouldn't be until the next week. Fine- I agreed and confirmed it was the contracted price, he said yes. Here we are a week later and suddenly again there is no driver that can accept that original contract price. I was told to "trust" him that the price he is now quoting me was locked in even though i had to sign the same exact contract stating the driver could change the price at delivery. So now I'm paying an exorbitant amount just so my daughter can get her car (which also had some dorm supplies loaded in the trunk) Broker sends me driver info so i can contact him directly, i do. I asked driver for an ETA and he responds he'll "get there eventually. Evening." Then suddenly im contacted because thats the wrong driver and given another contact. I ask him his ETA he says 5 mins- I was supposed to get a heads up call prior to arrival. He loads up the truck and the driver is questioned about the fees to confirm the total cost is what was signed for- he states he doesn't know anything about the costs, the office handles that. Also was told delivery would be next day, driver is saying 2 days. So clearly all of these people are a bunch of liars and scammers and use your situation and vulnerability to screw you. I get that truck drivers are on the move, the schedule may not line up exactly, etc. And you'll need some flexability there. But this is beyond that. I inform Mr. Ryan that I already have two quotes lower than the signed contract ($$750) I shared the two quotes with Mr. Ryan informing that I am already paying $200more than the minimum quote received. On 7-29-2024, the driver confirms his axle is broken and he cannot pick up the car. On 7-29-2024, Mr. Williams says another driver can pick up the car but the charges would be higher and it would be $1350. ($575 more than contracted price of $775) On 7-29-2024, I disagreed to pay higher price ($1350). I inform Mr. Williams that I already have two quotes lower than the signed contract ($775). I shared the two quotes with Mr. Williams informing that I am already paying $225 more than the minimum quote received. Paying $1350 is not what I signed for. It is 8-5-2024 today (12 days since I signed the contract) but Mr. Williams has not been able to identify a driver to pick up my car yet. Inspite of my multiple requests, Mr. Williams is not returning my deposit of $200 or getting my car picked up. I have also filed a complain on BBB and with the NY AG's office. read more
