Okay... At first it seemed that this place was on top of it. But after 4 times of going up to the vision store. I've realized that I've overpaid big time for glasses and services I can't even see my 60 inch Tv clearly. I'm getting excuses to why my prescription does not work. I came in at least 4 times and was still within my sixty days. I've had to pay for my eyes to get retested and they only did half of the test. They didn't dilate my eyes..! They lied on me and said that I denied my eyes to get dilated for the second test which would be observe. I was scheduled for Contact fitting and my eyes to be tested again. I cancelled my contacts testing because I'm having problems with my glasses. I have paid so much money into one pair glasses over $370 in cash and at least another 1,200 with insurance charges. I still can't see without blurry vision. They have a lot of little charges. One for enhanced sharpness that comes with the insurance and I asked for the most enhanced the second time because they said that is for reason I couldn't see and my glasses needed a special clear sharper enhanced package so the second time I came in I insisted that package to be added. So Guess what after paying another $45 made sure that they did that added that enhanced clearer glare. But I still wondered why they didn't dilate my eyes for a complete test? I was charged for the test and was told my insurance would pay the rest. When I came in the third time I said I'm still having blurred vision and I thought I paid for that enhance package I was told it wasn't added..!!!!! I said no you have to add that package that was the main excuse for why I was still seeing things blurry. The manager I suppose called someone to see if my prescription could add the advanced package. The lady came back and told me that it would be another $75.00 to du what I insisted to be done the second time. So you add $350 plus another seventy-five I think I could have got a nice purse at Louis Vuitton or Marc Jacobs that's too expensive for one pair of glasses....!!! REALLY! I called again and I'm awaiting somebody to get back with me about why was I charged when it's clearly stays on the receipt within 60 days any problems with the glasses they would take care of it for free. There is hidden fees and things that I don't understand and I don't like that it makes me very eerie to return to them as a customer. MY husband has just gotten his eyes tested and wants a pair of glasses. I told him that I will not be doing business with this company if they can't do me right. They want $212.00 plus another $75.00 for some reason. THAT'S a lot of money out of my household that could have been used in other ways. When you buy a pair of glasses it's supposed to be a simple process and if it was done wrong and the patient within 60 days tells you over and over again three times that my can't see eye still blurry it would have been imperative for a full dilation and I testing the second time I came in there and I'm very upset about it I'm still waiting on a call I hope that this is resolved so that I can go back and review this again but if it's not I'm warning you guys that you need to make sure what your insurance pays what's in your package how much it is if you need to get something adjusted because it looks like the 60 days guaranteed is not honored. I really just want my money back and my prescription done at another Vision Store. Me and my Husband together have spent $2,100 including what insurance has paid at this facility and No one has a pair of glasses yet. I would like to come back and change this review to at least a positive outcome after 7 months now of trying to receive one pair of glasses that I can see in. read more

Friendly, knowledgeable staff! Dr. De La Pena was wonderful with my daughter. Very thorough exam and really took the time to walk us through her findings and recommendations. Only negative was how long it took to finally see doctor. Appointment was for 4:30 and didn't see her till 5:15. read more

I love Premier Vision! The ladies who work there, Bridgett, Carrie, and Angelica, are the best - very courteous, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to make your appointment special. I hadn't been wearing soft contacts for years because they were too big and uncomfortable. Also, I have astigmatism and would have to wait three weeks for my contacts to get here. Dr. De La Pena examined my eyes and, to my amazement, gave me my Coopervision biofinity Toric lenses the same day, right after my exam! Dr. De La Pena was very courteous, knowledgeable, and did an awesome job. I knew I would be back. The next time I went for my exam, Dr. De La Pena was out of the office, so I saw Dr. Janet Garza. I am new to the area and saw the previous reviews and chose to trust Dr. De La Pena and Dr. Garza with handling my new prescription glasses. In the past I've had issues trying to get progressive that worked for me. They were extremely patient as was their entire staff as we struggled to try to figure out what the issue was when the new pair of glasses arrived. Finally Dr. Garza discovered that my prescription, that was given by another doctor not associated with this facility, was inaccurate and was the cause of my issues. This business when above and beyond to help me! They worked tirelessly to ensure that my glasses would be exactly what I needed. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone who wants to be treated with kindness, compassion, professionalism and commitment to quality care! My daughter and I had an appointment on 6-2-17. It was our first time being seen and they did a wonderful job. The front staff and Dr. Garza were very kind and knowledgeable. My daughter who is 6 was very comfortable with her eye exam. They have a kids train table, water, and snacks if you're a parent bringing your child with you. Dr. Garza is Amazing!!! She spent time with me going over treatment options and answering all questions I've had. It's only the second full exam I've been there for, but she's seen me in emergency situations. My impression was that this is a commercial practice, not a healing one. Dr De La Pena was quick to recommend additional appointments, additional testing and a referral to a specialist, as well as insisting on a serious suspected diagnosis that was based on nothing at all. The fact that this was nothing at all was confirmed by another eye specialist, who was quite astounded by Dr De La Pena's recommendations. I will never know Dr De La Pena's motivation - whether she is just extremely cautious in wanting to rule out everything that comes to mind or she is trying to get you to spend as much as possible by manipulating you with threats to your health. I do not plan to return to this practice. If you see Dr De La Pena and are told you need extensive testing and further visits to rule out something serious, I recommend you get a 2nd opinion if her proposed diagnosis does not seem at all plausible. read more

Dr. De La Peña saved my vision! My Rio Grande Valley Dr. diagnosed me with what he thought was "an eye infection" and prescribed a $400 antibiotic. I couldn't afford that. Eventually my symptoms subsided without medication. Two months later, I drove into town to visit my in laws and coincidentally my vision had gone bad again during my stay. I knew I wasn't going to be able to make the trip back home because my eyes were so bad. I did some research online and called Premier Vision because they had great reviews. I carefully explained my symptoms to their receptionist and she urged me to rush to their clinic even though I didn't have an appointment. As soon as I walked in premier vision, their staff was very welcoming and comforting. Right away they started performing thorough exams and eventually Dr. De La Peña properly diagnosed me. It was NOT an infection, it was glaucoma. She immediately started treating my eye and followed up with me throughout the day and the next to make sure my vision was getting better. I couldn't thank Dr. De La Peña and her staff enough, they literally saved my vision! My husband and I now travel 6 hours for our follow ups and annual eye exams with Dr. De La Peña and quite frankly, we wouldn't have it any other way! Thank you, Premier Vision! read more

I might be harsher than most with regards to healthcare, because technically, anyone with a degree is "qualified" to be a healthcare professional. So a lot of what I judge is based off the intangibles as I have experienced them. I originally went to them in hopes of getting a quick eye prescription so I can eventually prepare for Lasik. Overall, it's been a longer process than I had hoped for, but it hasn't been a life-altering terrible experience. I have had two appointments with them so far. I want to start out by saying that everyone there is really friendly and all of the administrative processes have been really easy (e.g., scheduling, forms, insurance, etc.). I initially called to make an appointment, stating I wanted to just get the eye exam to prepare for Lasik, basically hashing out my situation/condition. As mentioned, my main goal was simply to get the eye prescription. I was using hard contacts that reshape my cornea, so all I hoped I needed was the prescription to get back up glasses so I could get out of the contacts before the Lasik procedure. Registering into their system and making an appointment was all taken care of really quickly. The main problem has been the communication, or lack thereof, since then. During my first visit (in which I spent 3 hours in because of backed up scheduling), I had Dr. Garza, whom I explained my goal for Lasik. I had most of the eye exam performed, but because my cornea was still reshaping from the lack of hard contacts, I needed some follow up visits for further testing. They never mentioned getting records from my previous optometrist and I had to bring that up at the end, even though it seems like it would be the first thing mentioned since those records could obviously contain vital historical information to help with a better prescription. I still don't know if they've gotten those records even after following up with them twice. At any rate, they gave me some trial soft contacts to hold me off until my next follow up, but because of my prescription, my cornea changed shape when I came off the hard contacts, and the soft contacts proved to be an extremely weak prescription. I don't want to blame them for the weak prescription, but I could have easily given them my history from my previous optometrist prior to the visit, which I think would have expedited the process. Anyways, after a week of not-so-great vision, I had my second visit. Here, I had Dr. De La Pena and I had to explain again my goal for Lasik. We did some more eye tests so I could get corrected contacts while I waited for the glasses to be made. The eye testing went smoothly, no complaints there. She did mention some further testing may be necessary as my eyes continue to adjust to life with no hard contacts, which I was fine with, but Lasik was never mentioned again. After the testing, I spoke with another worker to get a frame that suited me. But after getting a quote that included a lot of features which I didn't need for temporary glasses, I had to explain yet again about my goals for Lasik and that I wasn't looking to buy a pair of glasses that cost as much as 4 brand new tires from Autozone. Eventually, I decided not to purchase glasses just yet and to shop around with my prescription, which was my whole intention to begin with. After the appointment, I had some remaining questions regarding how I should proceed moving forward to prepare for Lasik so I called if there was anything I should do prior to scheduling a general Lasik consultation appointment. However, I was recommended to wait a year or two since my prescription was fluctuating. It's a bummer, but my biggest issue is that I wouldn't have known this unless I had called them on my own. I understand that they're trying to give me the best and safest recommendation, but I felt like I had to pry them for important details when I had brought up so many times of my goal regarding Lasik. This review is starting to sound like a broken record. I don't mind explaining my situation over again (even if it's to the same person), but it felt like they didn't really consider it and just wanted to hurry and get my eye testing done of their own accord. I don't think they're trying to swindle me for money and I trust them 100% with their services, but overall, I didn't feel like I was genuinely cared about as a customer. They were able to perform the minimal requirements for an optometrist, but not a whole lot more. read more

For me, this is the place where the doctor and staffs are the best! Eventhough I've moved quite far away, I'd still love to come back. I once went to a chained optometrist near where I live. Boy, how I regreted it! Hated the doctor and found out that they were not in network with my insurance. I still needed to get contacts prescription, so I contacted Premier Vision, and the staffs were all very helpful (contacting the insurance wether I could re-do the eye exam, etc.). The doctor was also very good to me, she still remembered me although it's been more than 2 years since my last visit. I also took my 2-year-old daughter there and it was a very nice experience. My daughter is SUPER SHY to everybody and mostly speak other language, but she could worked the exam very well with the doctor. The office is also great overall with new and modern equipments, just like the fisrt reviewer mentioned it. I'd recommend Premier Vision to everyone living nearby (or even far like me). read more

Went in on a Saturday appointment. The overall visit was a little long but understandable, given the different steps in the process of getting eyes checked, dialated and given time to look at frames. I didn't actually have to wait to see the doctor though, who by the way, was very nice, professional and through. She explained every step in detail and allowed for questions. I booked an appointment here on a friend's recommendation. Overall I was pleased with my appointment. The exam was comprehensive and Dr. De La Pena explained everything in detail. The staff assisting me with my eyeglass selection (sorry, I can't remember his name but he was a young man in his 20's) was very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. The price was a bit high, thanks to my need to wear progressive lens but I was happy with the selection of frames.
