The crew was on time, extremely efficicent and communicative. Everyone was very mindful of our neighbors fence, property, roof line and powerlines. Everyone had PPE on and were so incredibly safe when scaling the trees and hedges. Clean up was very thorough. Majority of our fronds and hedge were processed by the chipper and hauled. Our neighbor was so impressed with the crew he also hired them on the spot to take care of his street tree. It is impressive how much green waste we produced that day. Luckily the city picks up yard trimings on the street so his crew broke down anything else we had to sizeable chunks and neatly piled for SJ GreenWaste to pick up. Sean took care of filing the permit for the street tree and worked within my schedule. The crew arrived on time and did a great job expertly extracting the plum tree, grinding down the main trunk and a lateral root. They took their time to remove dead wood areas and shape the larger trees to comply with city regulations but still retain shape and shade. Same was done with the shrubs/trees in the backyard, improving spacing from the house and reducing height to not block solar panels. All debris was removed and ground up in their wood chipper. I will bring them back to thin out the canopies in a year or two. One more thing worth noting - during our initial walkthrough I mentioned the new pavers on the ~70' long driveway. Marcos assured me that they would be careful and would pull the large truck only to the end of the driveway ramp. About 9 years ago we had Tory come and trim our 50-year-old Jacaranda tree and we were very happy with the care and concern about the tree and their work. Today, we wanted to have the same people come back out and were happy to discover that they were still around and rebranded as Tree Cherubs. Tory remembered our tree and was happy that we remembered him, too. Once again, he showed his knowledge and understanding of the tree and, again, didn't allow any climbers with shoe spikes for fear of damaging the tree. They took great care in protecting the plants and property below. They worked efficiently and quickly and did a fantastic job for a very good price given the large amount of work they needed to accomplish. They left the yard clean and neat and did a wonderful job at not cutting too much or just topping the tree like so many other tree trimming companies do. The other two…read moreseemed like they would do a fine job and were a bit cheaper, but Monster has an arborist doing the estimates which made me feel more confident of the result. Monster came out quickly to do a project review and provided an estimate the next day. I got a good vibe from their estimator. They were booked out a week, but they came earlier than we expected (someone else cancelled) so it was done quickly. Our pittosporum looks great, when usually it just looks messy. They trimmed all the low branches and up the trunks of the main stems. It gives the tree a nice shape and less gunk dropping on the patio. They trimmed it back on one side so that our crepe myrtle has more space to flourish. Monster also trimmed our persimmon which now looks so much better/healthier. And they shaved the neighbors trees up our back fence line. That looked like an impossible task, but they did it! The cost was reasonable, and they did good work. They had us come out to review at the end of the job and they made a few extra cuts at our request, and gave us no attitude.
