Let's face it, having a pool built is a long, arduous and stressful process There are additional costs, beyond just building the pool. Building our pool was no different. We interviewed man pool companies before selecting Premier Pools. Ultimately, Premier's design and honest approach made them an easy selection. They were clear that this process was going to take several months and that there would be a lot of hurdles to navigate along the way. We lived with a big mess for quite some time. That said, it seemed like every week or two, we saw steady progress. Every step of the build requires city or municipal inspection which adds to the overall build time. Premier kept the processing moving as much as they could. I am pleased that there were so many inspections (all of which passed). This gives us confidence that our pool is well built and safe. As one step was completed and inspected, they moved as quickly as possible to the next step. We enjoyed picking out the pool tile and decking tile and interior plaster color, etc... Little by little, we saw the pool take shape and we now have a fully built and usable pool. Our backyard is ours once again. We love it and could not be happier. Beautiful outcome, but.... We contacted Latham pools for a fiberglass pool install and they referred us to their local vendor Premier pools and Spas. Our salesman was Joe Burke. He was awful. Very arrogant and a bit non responsive and flat out lied about the timeline for the pool. Right before the pool delivery, 6 months after the order and permitting was complete, Joe was apparently fired from Premier and that was no shocker. Our next contact person was Susan Restivo in the office. Our secondary contact individual was Ron Sills. Just like Joe, Susan and Ron were either MIA or when we did have contact were extremely arrogant, had horrible communication skills, wouldn't fully answer questions and provided no instructions or guidance through the process. They did not inform us of the status of the work or updates on the project for the 6 months in between the excavation and final CO. The best part of Premier pools and Spas was Jason George. I cannot say enough positive about him and his crew that did the instal. Because of Jason and ONLY because of Jason would I recommend this company. If you are going to hire Premier pools and Spas be ware of what I have stated. Also, finance through Lyon Financial as they will totally cover you with construction projects. Never finance through the builder themselves. Any builder that says they will also provide finance, DO NOT USE! All of this being said, it took 6 months from excavation to CO and the final result is beautiful thanks to Jason, his crew and my own work based on the input and guidance from Jason. read more

If you want to hire a terrible excuse of a pool company then I recommend this company. My parents signed the contract may 2021 and was told they'd have a completed pool by the end of the year. My parents ripped out their pool October 2021 and they didn't start construction until February 2022. Now June 2022 and they have fired this company due to their terrible customer service and inability to be reliable. You have someone come work on the pool for 2 or 3 days and then wait weeks for the next step. Tiling was done and it's loose and sloppy. After a long wait, my parents fired this company and now has to hire someone else to complete it. DO NOT hire premier pools and spa. The owner, Ron, is disrespectful and cannot communicate to save his life. If I could give this company a negative rating I would. read more

Decent product--HORRIBLE management! Get everything in writing, especially the number of weeks it will take, and a requirement to clean up their mess at every phase (I recommend a clause to hold up payment until the mess is cleaned. They will promise the moon in the sales meeting and fail to deliver--or communicate the reason for a delay. Be prepared to chase them down. Guys will show up, work for a day maybe two then disappear for a week--or more. Bill's 8-week dig to swim sales pitch is a complete fabrication. They dug my pool on 1/26/19 and finally filled it on 5/11/19. That's 13 weeks. As of today (6/5/19) they are still not done. My system should be converted to salt next week, my permit is still open, and they owe me $10,959 in overpayment. I have called several times a day since Monday, but they just ignore me. The pool itself, and paver deck (the only reason I went with Premier) are very nice. Just be prepared to chase them down, fight to keep them on schedule, and spend an extra $2500-3500 to clean up and re-sod. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! Contractor Lic # CPC1458893 Check their numerous complaints at the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) and Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (myfloridalicense.com) before even considering signing a contract with this company. Premier Pools & Spas contracts have full payment before the pool is completed. We were paid in full on August 5, 2019 ($57,000) and they have still not finished our pool and we also have a leak, needing to add water every 2 days. We have notified Premier Pool IN WRITING - MULTIPLE TIMES and they don't return calls, texts or emails. The positive reviews on here are for another Florida franchise. The negative reviews are all attributed to the above Lic # and franchised to R.S. Jr. and B.S. in 2016. Don't get them confused! Some of our other issues: 1) pool not built to specifications per the contract-pool depth too deep, skimmer built too low which causes sun shelf to only have a few inches of water, columns oversized from specs so water from water bowls hit the column vs the pool. We ordered identical water bowls, but larger, so the water would flow into the pool properly (and not hit the columns first) and Premier said, in an email, that they would get to us to install the water bowls "as a courtesy" "when they could" even though it is in our contract and they installed the plumbing 2) Trash, trash, trash everywhere all the time, HOA and neighbors complained constantly about the food wrappers, cigarette butts, plastic water bottles, gatorade bottles, paper bags and bottles of pee-yes workers urine was left on our property in clear plastic bottles for weeks and weeks 3) Travertine sinking in one corner of pool area and cuts made around the pool are not straight leaving large gaps in varying sizes, or small sliver pieces to try and fill in 4) Licensed electrician was not used for all electrical work, owners son did some of the work 5) multiple project managers (they kept quiting the company) no one ever knew what was going on 6) failed inspections 7) equipment operator took out a side of our new fence and made multiple hits to the trunks of our palm trees-sloppy contractor work ethic read more

I'm devastated, disappointed & heartbroken! We signed our contract in September 2020 with Premiere Pools & Spas work started in January 2021 after hole was dug finally and framing has begun the work has stopped for few weeks when finally they call and ask to meet with us for a meeting we ask why all we are told we got a very rear problem will talk in 8 days. Then few days later workers arrive and without any notification or communication they fill in the hole like nothing happened. Finally day 8 of waiting has arrived the sales rep Keith Lemley and another man named Ron from management arrived. I was anxious to find out what is happening and to hear a solution instead i was blamed, attacked, manipulated, and threatened! I find out our property survey is wrong we provided 2 papers which were older surveys at time of signing which the sales rep took photo copy of, then he requested the surveys again few months later at that time i did not know where i put it i just reached out to the city and requested the survey from the Port Saint Lucie Building Department once i received it via email i sent it! Permit was approved by the city after six weeks we were good to go! Now they are telling me all 3 surveys they had were all bad someone messed up but who the pool company's manager blamed me its my fault he immediately said the price will go up higher and additional charges will be added to our plan. But we had an agreement we signed a contract we had a $42,000 contract I told him I have no more money he immediately started threatening me saying if I don't pay he will hold a lien against my home but how for what i don't even have a hole in the ground anymore and they all ready have $18,000 dollars from is! They got upset when we asked a simple question who is responsible for this mistake why should we pay for someone else's mistake and be blamed for it they got upset at us asking this question and walked off our property saying they are canceling our contract and they are not willing to work with us any longer and they still have our money! I do not recommend them we have put complete trust into their hands they are the professionals who is supposed to know the inns and outs of this business if they come into a problem they should take the responsibility and try to help a customer well not them! I have put in 5 different pools, 1 in NH, 1 in VT, and 3 in Florida. Premier Pools is by far and away, the worst experience I've had. The pool has been in for about 7 weeks, the Jandy salt generator is not working and I can't get anyone from Premier to escalate the problem and call me back. One of the owner's sons was the project manager, and he didn't follow up when he should have. When I asked for warranty paperwork, he emailed me instruction manuals. They didn't register the equipment so I am going to have to do it. Also, when the son started the salt generator, he poured the salt through the skimmer. In the manual he provided, under How To Add Salt to the Pool, it says, DO NOT ADD THROUGH SKIMMER, MAIN DRAIN, OR SURGE TANK. Unbelievable. I had Will Bernardi design my pool. He was knowledgeable and accommodating to my requests and made excellent suggestions without being overbearing and pushy. From start to finish, the process was interesting to watch as the various contractors plied their trades in a professional manner. The support staff, foreman and all the workers made the multiple inspections easy to pass. They tried their best to remain on schedule ( weather permitting, of course) and brought Will's design to fruition. I recommend that you review the contract thoroughly to avoid any misinterpretations, which may deem costly, down the line. Despite some small hiccups, the process was worth it. read more

I will share our experience with PPAS. Management and oversight of our pool project was the worst I have ever seen. Understand that PPAS is the general pool contractor. The work done on the pool is subbed out. The subs leave much to be desired. Bill Steed makes a good presentation. From there it's all down hill. First I would warn anyone to carefully understand the contract. He will not discuss the fine points a consumer should be aware of. If you sign there contract, you will pay them in full for your pool before the pool is finished and is filled with water. The company PPAS uses to frame the pool, install the plumbing and pool equipment in the Port St. Lucie area is another pool contractor. After checking the BBB, I found that contractor has many complaints which explains why they have time to do the work for PPAS. The first problem we encountered was the plumbing drain in the spa was not installed according to the print. The inspector failed the install. Rather than make their sub-contractor correct the problem, PPAP wasted three weeks getting the engineering drawings changed. The city of PSL rejected their proposed changes. Only then did they make their contractor re-do the plumbing. Rather than taking out the rebar in the spa and resetting it, he cut it and then pieced it back together. Poor quality workmanship. It was enough to pass the inspection. PPAS wasted three weeks to try to change the prints to accommodate the sub-contractor. The next problem occurred the day they shot the pool with the gunite. It was a windy day. Their contractor managed to get a gunite film on our windows. Again poor regard for our protecting property. We had several problems with their contractor that installed the pool tile and travertine pavers. That contractor cut up sheets of 3/8 in. plywood to make forms for the footer that anchors the screen enclosure. His foot forms failed inspection. Plywood is not a suitable forming material. It gets wet and warps. That happened with his forms. It is critical to keep a uniform footer pour. When the contractor came to install the screen enclosure, we found due to the poor workmanship the footer was not square leaving no way to anchor one end of the lanai. Consequently, the contractor had to come back and add on to the footer. The same contractor did a horrible job installing the pool tile. He obviously was inexperienced as he didn't understand the basics of starting and laying the tile from the skimmer. In addition, he missed areas that were suppose to get tile--the bench in the spa, the steps, the safety ledge. We had to point out and he had to come back to install. His poor workmanship also lead to the pool leaking once we put in the water. He also did not properly compact the deck and patio base when he installed the travertine leaving several low areas he had to come back and correct. It came time to hook up the plumbing to the pool equipment. A short trench needed to be dug. Our property has yard drains tied into our gutters. It is obvious a big pvc pipe running from the downspout, underground to a drain pipe. The contractor cut the drain pipe at the down spout. After he installed the pool pvc pipe, he put about one foot of the pipe coming off the drain on the end of the drain and buried it making it look like the pipe was connected to the drain. At the same time he severed the irrigation pipe. Rather than mark it, he buried it leaving the irrigation guys to find the break. You have to ask what was he thinking? At this point you don't know what to expect next. But you could be sure more screw ups were coming. It came time to plaster the pool. The plaster crew mixed there materials in the front yard. Again a windy day and they got plaster residue all over both of our cars. PPAS had to hire a car detail company to come out and clean the residue off our cars. To make things worse, the plaster crew poured their excess plaster down the drain on the side yard clogging up the drain. The drain pipe had to be replaced. PPAS said they would pay for the repair. They didn't. We have sent them several emails asking for reimbursement. They ignored us and have not reimbursed us for the cost It did not take long to figure out the pool was leaking once it had water. They sent out crews twice to find & repair the leaks. We hired a leak detection company with understanding if they found leaks, PPAS would reimburse us the cost. Leaks were found. After several months we were reimbursed. They do not supervise their subcontractors. read more

Update ... In response to Mr. Steed's response to my initial review - we are 6 months post "passing" inspection, with issues that have yet to be resolved - the linear fire feature has not worked properly and they were well aware of it from the first time they decided to even test it (that's a different aggravating story). We were told by Premier that they would get their own gas company to come out and find out what the issue was and to date - that has not happened. After many attempts and reaching out to Premier with no success we had to pay two different gas companies to come out and both have stated that they cannot even get to the feature because of it being installed im such a way that it is not easily accessible. Then the spa jets don't have much pressure coming out and we were told by Jandy (the company who Premier uses) that the lines were not installed properly and the only way to fix that would have to rip up the entire pool as it is deep in. Premier has completely ignored our issues and no longer responds to our follow ups. Nice, huh?! I share this to reserve others from the aggravations and disappointments by such an unprofessional and shady company. Contact me and I will gladly provide all documentation so that you can see how both parties have communicated during the entire process. Should anyone at Premier ever step forward to rectify the issues, especially with the fore feature, I'd gladly update this review, but not holding my breath! read more

As others mentioned the sales pitch from Bill S. makes the company sound great, but it almost immediately ends. We signed a contract with PPAS on 04/20/2018 and made the first payment. We agreed to a design and a 10-12 week build time and understood weather could be a factor. Intial dig wasn't until 07/05/2018 and the fill wasn't filled until 21 weeks later on 11/16/2018. Summer 2018 in S. Fl was relatively dry so weather was a non-issue. What was an issue was the repeated lies from Bill and team at PPAS, gouging, having to pay additional fees and for work that was covered in the scope. They trashed our property, failed EVERY inspection, left trash everywhere. They ruined our patio by setting the pool deck 5" above the patio they were contracted to "top-over" with pavers. I had to clear out sod they were going to paver over and fix the grade for them. We now have a patio deck that is too high because they dumped 3" of sand/gravel on our patio even after being told not too. Tim Lookabil later claimed he would have fixed it, but then re-nigged on the offer after getting the final payment. They say they use #3 rebar everywhere, well except in the beam. They claim to not use 90 elbows in the plumbing, another lie. In the end it required numerous complaints to both the local office and corporate, a BBB complaint. Final grade took 3 attempts and then i finished myself. They failed to apply the plaster called out in the contract, failed to match the design quoted, failed to chemically balance our pool at start-up. It turned green requiring us to immediately add 10 gallons of chlorine and 32oz of acid to balance after they claimed to have performed the startup per the contract. Good luck reaching corporate, the national brand and most of the franchises are all like this, the S. FL branch is not the exception, they are part of the norm. The only thing i have is a light wallet from over-paying and a piece of paper claiming i have the best warranty in the business, but i doubt i'll ever get someone out to repair if i ever need to act on it. Ronald Sills is the worst person I have never met. They advertise that they build pools in 3-4months and that is a blatant lie. It took them 10 months to build my pool and it would of taken longer if I was not my own project manager. I would never recommend anyone to build with this company. Imagine I had to submit a complaint to BBB to get answers because they would not respond or lie and say they are taking care of a warranty claim and they never did. They send employees who are not professionals to install your pool equipment. Premier claims the project was delayed due to the pandemic or shortage in materials. I had all my materials waiting in my yard long before all the shortages. Due to Premier being unorganized and mismanagement of their organization, the project was delayed. I contracted for a 6 foot pool and they submitted a permit for a 5 foot pool. They tried to offer me more LED lights to cover up their error. They wanted me to pay for their error I said no I have a contract for a 6 foot pool. They had to redesign and resubmit to the city for a new permit. Also, Improper designing and sizing by Premier caused another delay (footers were incorrect). It was costing Premier $800 to correct their error. Premier willfully delayed the project for 2 weeks because we offered to pay $400 for their error and not the full $800. If it was not for the construction manager (whom they fired) our project would still be delayed. I had my final inspection and we passed. Good riddance Premier Pool & Spas. I emailed Ron about this and told him I will take legal action if he does not resume building my pool. Ron emails me back threatening me saying if I want his "help" to finish my pool I better stop with my threats. As I recall I hired and paid Ron Sills the owner, the Professional (far from it) of Premier Pools to build my pool. My 10 months of hell is finally over. But, wait they still have not delivered my umbrella pool sleeve cap that I was supposed to receive an estimated 2 months ago. he only gets one star because it is required for me to post this review. I've received poor service from other companies before, but this is the first time EVER that the lack of professionalism and customer care has motivated me to want to publicly warn consumers about what they could be getting into with a decision to hire Premier Pools and Spas. My problems with Premier Pools started from the moment they cashed my initial deposit. Now, three months after the completion of my pool, I'm still struggling with getting someone out to my residence to repair a leak that's causing me to have to stick my garden hose in my pool every 3 days to fill it back up to the correct water level. For 3 months I am constantly being promised that someone will be by my place at the end of the week, before the end of the weekend, by Monday...no one shows up, and no one contacts me to explain why no one showed up unless I make an effort to follow up. This went on for the first 2 and a half months with my original project manager. Just 11 days ago I received an email informing me that I've been assigned a "more experienced" project manager to handle my case. In that 11 day period, four times this new project manager promised to "contact me tomorrow" to let me know when a leak detection team would be at my place. This "team" was suppose to be here yesterday, but as I'm writing this review, my garden hose is filling up my pool. I'm at the point now where I feel I have an obligation to help protect consumers from this company, and will continue to share my experience through every public outlet that I can find. The only reason I'm rating Premier Pools and Spas 1 star, is because I wasn't able to submit the review with no stars. Consider yourself very lucky if you've come across this review before signing that contract. read more

As others have said, please go look at the BBB complaints. Keep in mind that this company has several locations and does work on the east coast of FL. Our pool has been "finished" for about 6 month and problems still exist and Premier is now just ignoring us. However, lets start from the beginning. We signed a contract (nearly $80,000 just for the pool) on 7/24/18 with Premier Pools & Spas and after many unnecessary delays filled the pool on June 25, 2019. The problems began right at the beginning when they built the pool with inaccurate dimensions, which we were adamant about with the salesman. Premier contracted another subcontractor who had to fix certain parts of the pool because the walls were so uneven that they were adding 2 inches of concrete in areas to get them straight. We discussed a linear fire feature before signing the contract, which Mr. Steed advised that it would not be an issue. The feature was not ordered until February. It arrived at our house on February 22, 2019. After it arrived, the subcontractor hired to install it told us that he had never installed a linear fire feature. The feature sat for approximately a month and a half, without anything being done with it. Once the feature was installed, they realized that the wall was not built accordingly to fit the feature, plus its components, as well as a door needed to be added behind it for access. Additionally, they failed to build the feature with a way for the rain water to escape so the pilot and feature would sit in water for days. They eventually just chipped away the concrete so the water could run out. It was a very sloppy job. That delayed the progress even more because the person hired to install this feature and build the pool around it, did not know what they were doing. We asked Premier to stop using that company for our pool and they refused to obey our request. They also blamed the screen company, who advised us that they had our house on schedule, but could not proceed with their work because Premier had not completed the footers and therefore, they had to continue with other work and placed us on another schedule to accommodate their other projects. Premier will blame anyone and will not take responsibility for anything. With all of the lack of coordination and moving the project timely, we had to be on top of Premier constantly, which has caused much aggravation and embarrassment within our community as other pools have started their buildout after ours and are either already completed or very close to it. Throughout the project, Premier asked for payments, including asking us to make payments earlier than the contract required, which we have provided without issue so as to keep the project moving. Now to present time, since the pool has been filled the jets on the spa have not worked properly. There is very little to no pressure from the jets unless the blower is on. Premier has come out twice to clean the lines and that seems to work for a day or so then we loss pressure again. More concerning is the fire feature, the feature now will not stay lite. When you turn it on, it will shut off after about 15 seconds and then re-lights and shuts off. Premier came out and immediately blamed the gas company. So I call the gas company, who came out and determined that the sensors on the ignition system were rotted out and could not sense the flame causing the gas to shut off. Because this was not an issue with their work, we were charged a $95 service fee. We informed Premier and we were told the gas company was wrong. Premier said they would send a gas company, but never did. As such, just to cover our butts, I called an independent gas company, who came out for a $95 service fee. They also determined that it was an ignition system issue. We then called the company they supplied the fire feature and ignition system. We spoke on the phone and sent pictures and videos. They confirmed that it appeared to be an ignition system problem. I am in the process of obtaining the replacement parts needed. This is all something Premier should have and could have done, but they were to busy blaming other people for their issues. Unfortunately, that is not where the problems stop. Premier built the fire feature by cementing everything in and enclosing it with tile. Both gas companies, have told us that they cannot work on the fire feature equipment because there is no access and that, because of liability issues, I have to have the feature taken apart before they can do anything. What is Premier's response to all of this, you ask? Well, they will no longer communicate with us and have essentially disappeared. Please do your research and pay a little more for a different pool builder. If you live on the east coast of Florida from Brevard to Miami reach out to me. I hired premier pools and spas in Deerfield beach to build my pool.  Excavation was done in December 2017.  After gunite, communication went downhill.   We've been through 3 project managers.   We paid them 36000.  Our pool was filled March 3, 2018 and the skimmer was hooked up.   Tim Lookabill, the project manager at the time, told my husband they waited until after the city inspection because he knew it wouldn't pass.  It finally got hooked up on March 27 and when it did, the water level dropped about 6 inches which caused our deck to collapse.   When they started pulling up the deck, it was discovered they didn't fill or compact under the deck.  I have called the city of port st Lucie to tell them and to request a compaction test.  I'm not even sure this will ever get fixed.  Bill Steed, manager of the Deerfield beach franchise has totally ignored my calls and text messages.   Do not hire these people.   Trust these reviews.   They do not operate with integrity.   They are liars. read more

I signed the paperwork Bill Steed the co owner of the company April 21st he assured me the pool would be completed before August, it is now September 22nd and I have no idea when my pool will be finished. They have collected $60,000 and Bill won't take or return my phone calls. They have been short on performance and long on excuses. They have a very limited number of subcontractors but an unlimited number of excuses. I have a list of every job they are working in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucie counties the story is the same with everyone. Workers show up for a few hours then no one for several weeks. Premier is a franchise the Deerfield Beach branch has only been licensed by the state of Florida since 08/02/16. read more

But once there were issues to fix, he became argumentative and obstinate. They has wired one of our timers backwards so OFF was ON and ON was OFF. By far the most unprofessional people I have contacted about getting a quote for a pool on my property. They had an "event" poolapalooza where there was only one person working and was with a customer. I was told another person could possibly come out as soon as tomorrow (Sunday) to give us an estimate. Dana later contacted me and gave me some basic information and needed a copy of my survey that I sent back that same day and would follow up with me on Monday. Was contacted today, Wednesday with a bunch of excuses about waiting on the city for answers on top of being incredibly rude and dancing around the actual questions I had. Was much more focused on my ability to finance just because I asked if it was offered and only increased his prior estimate of pricing and still hasn't even come to my house. In this time period I have contact two other contractors that were able to give me solid answers and much more reasonable pricing. Do your research and avoid these guys. read more

If you want to design your own pool and decking, run away from this business. You will end up with a pool THEY want you to have, WHEN they want you to have it. Our problem started from the first " tile" I picked. The pavers were a problem- no communication although they were well aware that we wanted to increase the square footage. Now we are buying our own and will have to hire someone to do. Can't depend on these people to do.,electrical was wrong, now hiring an electrician to finish the job. The pool color is incorrect- asked for a dark blue pool- I have aqua. Found a box next to pool that was place by the fountain- spillway with the words " don't leave out exposed to elements, will warp. This spillway had been in 95 degree weather for months. When questioned, they said "oh that never happens". We decided not to listen and ordered a copper spillway -another $500 and 4 weeks wait. Fountain was built 4 inches to short on right ledge- the contracted guy to put in the "stone" just put it in and didn't think it was a problem when I drew his attention to it and made him fix it. Who knows if the fountain will work correctly ? There also are rocks hanging over the ledge. I'm hoping when I put out plants on the ledges, it will hide the rocks. Started pool in May now end of September - didn't see them for 11 straight weeks! No communication, wouldn't answer phone or my texts. Just now filling with water. God forbid, if there's something wrong. I feel like I can't leave to go anywhere in fear that they "might" show up while I'm gone, and something else will be wrong. These guys are unreliable, non communicators, big promises, inefficient, and just miserable and frustrating to work with. They also su bcontract out everything and never show up to see if the job was correct or if the customer is happy. Find yourself another company, you'll be much happier. read more
