On 2/4/2019, I took our Subaru Outback to Walla Walla Transmission Specialists to have the tires…read morerotated and a fluid leak in the rear end checked. They did not inform me that there would be a charge to inspect for the leak and I did NOT authorize this charge. After inspecting my car, they gave me a written estimate to remove and replace the rear differential cover for $595. I consulted with my friend, who is a master mechanic, and he stated it was highly unlikely that this repair would be needed. I decided to get a second opinion and drove over to the Harley Swain Subaru dealership in Hermiston (over an hour drive each way). After their inspection, they found absolutely nothing wrong with my car and performed the inspection FOR FREE!!! They also stated that this type of repair was almost unheard of. I returned to speak to the owner of Walla Walla Transmission and expressed my dissatisfaction with their analysis of the problem. I also requested a refund of the inspection fee, as I did NOT authorize the charge. The owner was unapologetic and stated that the suggested repair was just 'their opinion' and did not seem to care that their analysis of the problem was wrong. We try to stay local and support businesses here in Walla Walla, but always recommend getting a second opinion. My experience with dealers has been negative, but to my surprise, this Subaru dealer is the exception. They have been honest, knowledgeable and very helpful. We have been extremely happy with Harley Swain and highly recommend them to other Subaru owners -- it is definitely worth the drive.

I stayed calm and kept driving into town.. and watched for the last 45 minutes of my Seattle-Walla Walla trip as the crack grew, and grew, and grew. Economy Glass was easy for this tourist to find, so I drove there first thing. The employees were really nice and tried very hard to find a replacement for my newish Subaru windshield. Nothing was in stock for about a 100 mile radius, so they tried to fix my crack with some sort of epoxy or (?) They only charged me $80, and while the epoxy didn't end up working (the crack still grew a bit) I was happy with the service and the attempt to fix it, and I felt like this was a trustworthy business. The people were SO nice. Hopefully I won't need another windshield repair or replacement on my next visit to Walla Walla, but if I do, I'll return to Economy Glass!

During what was already a really stressful situation for my wife and me, Jeremy was an absolute lifesaver. He helped us on four different occasions, and some of those situations took a lot of his time. He replaced our radiator, engine air filter, thermostat, and fan clutch, reset the engine codes, and kept troubleshooting until he felt confident that we would be able to make it safely back home to California. What impressed me even more than his mechanical ability was the kind of person he is. One night he came out in the middle of the night to help us. He replaced the thermostat and didn't even charge us for that job. Afterward, he actually followed us for a while to make sure the vehicle wasn't going to overheat again and that we made it safely to our rest stop. That kind of concern goes way beyond what you normally expect from anyone. There was also a time when my wife was dealing with the vehicle without me there, and Jeremy went out of his way to make sure she was okay and could safely get where she needed to go. That meant a lot to me. He was patient, calm, honest, easy to talk to, and even helped us troubleshoot things over the phone. Despite everything he did for us, he only charged us for a few of the main repairs and never tried to nickel-and-dime us for all the extra time and effort he put in. We had a terrible experience with the vehicle itself, but we feel extremely fortunate that we found Jeremy during it. You can tell he genuinely cares about the people he helps, not just about getting paid for a job. Jeremy, thank you again for everything you did for us! We truly appreciate you and won't forget how much you helped us when we really needed it. If you're anywhere around Walla Walla and need a mobile mechanic, I would recommend Jeremy without hesitation. They notified me right away and provided me the updates in the parts they ordered and the plan in repairing. They took care of all of expenses since it happened under their watch. It was ready when I requested it by and they did the right thing by not charging me for any of the work, even though some of it I expected to pay for. This is obviously not a common situation, but it can happen on any piece of equipment being worked on. It was how great I was treated as a new customer that has made me a permanent customer. This is such a less common experience nowadays for customer service, so I wanted to make sure they get the credit they deserve. Keep up the good work!

Escalated to the parts and service manager, and was literally ready to purchase an additional trailer with Uriah that day. And they don't care. I was disappointed in this lack of customer service :( It's extremely rare I give a bad review, but when top management of an establishment isn't willing to honor a warranty, even more so when you have a customer with a check book out to purchase another trailer that same day...that says something. I hope that things change down the road, and there's an opportunity to 'shop local' again. Tri Cities has some good alternatives that stand behind their warranty w/o dickering. I wanted to stay local....
