I currently own two Subaru Legacy's. Over 25 years, I've purchased 4 Subaru's (2 Imprezas, 2 Legacy's). I even referred my son to Premier Subaru, and he has purchased 3 Subarus from Premier (the most recent purchase a few months ago). For some reason, I am constantly getting emails with another person's information. This person is a relative by marriage. She has the same name as I do, but lives in another town and owns a Kia. The paperwork we received after service, and the email I received today, show my daughter as owning a Kia. My daughter does not own any cars. She drives one of my two Legacy's. The last time she went to Premier Subaru, she told them the information in their system was wrong. Unfortunately the staff did NOT fix the problem. The address listed is wrong (we moved nearly four years ago), the email address is wrong on paperwork, the home address is wrong, the owner's name is wrong. This is an ongoing issue, which is why I stopped servicing my vehicles at Premier Subaru. Please Mr. Alvine, can you please put someone in charge of straightening this out and make them held accountable that it be fixed??? I had a very negative experience with Premiere Kia. When I purchased my car, I was told I would be paying extra for roadside assistance and repair services, which ended up costing me an additional monthly fee. However, these charges were not clearly listed as separate items in my contract; instead, it seems the overall price of the car was increased to cover these costs. I later found out from Kia America that there is NO roadside assistance coverage on my vehicle, despite paying for it each month. When I asked the dealership to address this, they refused to cancel the charges or offer any resolution. After reporting these issues to Kia America, the dealership's manager contacted me and informed me that I am no longer allowed to bring my car in for any services, including canceling an already scheduled service appointment that I paid for. I am concerned that this is in retaliation for my complaint, as I have seen other reviews mentioning similar issues with how the dealership responds to customer feedback. Worst experience ever. Condescending, and told me that I threatened the staff just because I wanted to post a review. Kia Customer Service called me and asked me to take my 2022 Kia EV6 into service for diagnostic because, apparently, my car has reported an issue with the "high voltage battery system" to Kia. I take it to Premier Kia dealership because Kia Service Rep asked me to take it in. Premier Kia says, they found no issues with the high voltage battery but the 12 Volt battery needs replacement. I knew about the flaky 12 Volt battery because I had to jump it a few times before. But now, Premier Kia wants $203 for "diagnostic" and $335 to replace the 12 Volt battery. Premier Kia says 36 month/36,000 mile 12 Volt battery warranty does not cover because although my car has only 26 months old, my mileage has exceeded 36,000 by a few thousands miles. Really? $203 to tell me I have a bad 12 Volt battery, which I knew already and why do I have to pay for the full diagnostic of the "high voltage battery", too, when it was Kia who asked me to bring in my car? Premier Kia say, too bad. I call Kia Customer Service, and Jessica says, she will talk it over with Premier Kia. Kia Customer Service has agreed to cover the battery replacement. But, Premier Kia insist that I am responsible for the full diagnostics. $203. Too bad. I text Dan, "If I were to post this on the Google, Yelp, and Yahoo reviews, thousands, if not tens of thousands of people will get a laugh out of it." Can I post what happened to me? I mean, is that okay? You see, Kia tells me to bring the car in for diagnostic, dealer finds no fault and now I am responsible for the diagnostic charge. Is that fair? If there is no fault, then the car / customer service should not have asked me to bring the car in. If there is a fault, the technician should have found it. Later on, I get a text from Robert who claims to be the owner accusing me of threatening them. Really? If they are threatened by online posting of a description of what happened then they need to re-examine how they conduct their business. "I am sorry you dont understand the process and, ... you have clearly threatened the team ... Robert ." Very condescending. I understand the process, completely. I disagree with Robert's assessment and Robert's insistence that I am responsible for the diagnostics does not make it fair. Robert says I have "clearly threatened his staff." Really? Why is his staff clearly threatened by an online posting? What are they afraid of? What are they hiding? Are they afraid that people will find out that Premier Kia tried to charge me over $500 for a 2 year old bad battery which I was going to replace from Costco for $125? We purchased a 2022 Kia Sportage in June - the experience was less than pleasant, certainly not impressive. Just 4 months later, the car was stolen by 5 punks (google Kia Boyz) and totaled the car. We've lost a chunk of money and had to do another search for a car - this could've been and should've been avoided if Kia Premier had done the right thing - there was a class action lawsuit regarding this exact situation. They were supposed to upload computer software to prevent this from happening as well as provide a wheel lock (a $35 item). They failed to do either of these. I have had an issue with my AVN screen since last year with it starting to de-laminate causing bubbles to appear on the right side of the screen. I have an extended warranty on my 2019 Kia Forte which was not covered for repair(Zurich). It had continuously gotten worse so J decided to contact Kia corporate customer relations since in my opinion this was a defect and should not be happening. With dealing with corporate, I also went to the dealership Premier Kia in Branford and began dealing with the service manager Jessica. I explained the situation and she took ownership of the issue and said she will see what she could do to assist. She kept in contact with me with updates and continued to work with corporate, today I'm happy to say my issue has been resolved with a new screen installed! Stopped in on 7/23 for a unscheduled oil change (3700m) there were 2 cars in front of the service drop off, and 2 lifts available by time I made it to the lounge. I was greeted by Carl, and stated I am late for my (3700m) service. Carl stated that it would be 45 min before he can fit me in and started tossing other service slips too the back counter. For a dealership that continues to pride itself in volume sales and service it would be an assumption an unscheduled oil change wouldn't throw a wrench into a days schedule. This review is strictly for the parts department. I ordered an item online and contacted them to make sure it would arrive before my upcoming trip. I asked to please cancel the order if that request could not be met. They assured me that it was in stock and would ship on time. After not receiving shipping confirmation, I reached out a day later for a status check (no response). I asked them again to cancel the order and I would source the part elsewhere (no response). They failed to ship the item for several days, missing the deadline. I had to refuse the package so it would be shipped back to them. After receiving the return, they issued a partial refund to account for shipping costs. This item should not have been shipped at all and now I'm supposed to eat that cost? This could have been easily avoided if they had: 1) Been honest about their item/shipping availability 2) Communicated instead of ignoring messages 3) Shipped when they said they would Poor customer service and poor business practices. UPDATE Looks like I received a response to this review from the business owner (they responded quicker to this than to any email or eBay messages). A response to their response: ---"eBay doesn't give us an option to refund shipping because we have it set up as nonrefundable" Right. YOU have it set to nonrefundable, not eBay. You mean to tell me that you couldn't figure out a way to make this right? ---"You received a full refund in the end" Yes. After writing this review, I filed a claim with eBay and THEY made the refund complete. The latest problems with the 2019 Kia , with less than 8k miles on it are the brakes and a loss of power when accelerating . Not only does 2019 Kia Forte have a number of inherent issues , the dealership will no longer back their product . As soon as you say something that they do not agree with they tell you not to return. Please do not do business with Premier Kia or Premier Subaru ( same owner) . They do not back their products . We have been a long time customer with Premier Kia in Branford and always had great service within the dealership itself. Their sales people are friendly, knowledgeable and always very hospitable I.E. insuring your comfort, offering beverages and providing you with options, advice and knowledge prior to your scheduled appointment with the finance manager which is who we went to meet on this particular date. We didn't know what options if any that were viable for what we needed. Confused and directionless, we figured we'd make an appointment with Carlos Trinade, the finance manger to simply go over options for lease end. We automatically felt very comfortable with him and the options he provided were what was best for us, not the other way around. The massive sigh of relief came quickly when he was able to utilize his (and Kia's) strong relationships with financial institutions effortlessly to help us buy out our lease, lower our payment by over $200/ month and keep me in the vehicle that I loved and they happen to not offer anymore. As opposed to past experiences, he was fast, efficient, friendly and gave us that old school "know you by name, I'll take care of you" service that means everything to us! We're super grateful for his help- we'd also like to acknowledge Jeff the GM for his welcoming and engaging demeanor. His help and advice was instrumental in our decision making process. My wife and I bought a Kia Sportage, previously owned, two and a half years ago. We just found out it is burning oil. It is still under warranty. The service section told us they would have to take apart the engine to diagnose the problem. And if it is under warranty it could take 3-4 weeks to repair with a new engine. Our warranty covers a rental car but only $35 for 10 days. We called around and there is no rental fee that cheap. Which we would have to pay the difference. Plus make the payment for the car for the month we won't have it? Also talking to them they are very cocky. Nice people to work with. We were looking for a specific car, and calling around to see if different dealers had it in stock, before driving from Middletown. This is the ONLY Kia dealership that answered my questions without giving me a hard time or asking for a ton of personal information from me. I appreciated that very much, and that's why we then drove there to meet with them. They did have the car we wanted in stock (a Kia Sorento), but I didn't trust their "best price" offer so I went home to do some research. I got other dealers to come in lower, and after some negotiation they did beat the lowest price that we had gotten elsewhere. Minus one star though for not giving us that actual best price from the start (but acting like they did). Christina was an awesome salesperson to work with and knew a lot about the car she was selling us, which is also better than the experience at some other dealerships. Will we be back? Sure, if they can give us the lowest price. This was a great car buying experience! I was greeted by Nate when I walked into the dealership and it was smoothing sailing thereafter. I initially went in with an optima in mind. Nate took me for a test drive. After driving the optima I realized it wasn't the one for me. However, Nate was patient and recommended the Forte. It was perfect for my price range and came with A LOT of bells & whistles for the sticker price. After I decided on the car it was time for *what I thought would be* the hard part-getting a loan. They didn't let this stop them from meeting a customer's needs, however. They worked tirelessly and bent over backwards to locate the car I was looking for. Once they inevitably found it, they had it shipped to their lot where they then customized it just the way I wanted. Updating my previous 5-star review. This review only reflects my personal experience in buying a used Ford from Premiere Kia's pre-owned inventory. I purchased a used Ford from Premier Kia in October. Right off the bat, I was told that the car had locking lug nuts put on as part of the pre-inspection process. I picked the car up on a Saturday. When I specifically asked where the spare key for the wheel locks would be, I was told "the glove compartment or the center console." I believed my salesman and took the car off the lot without checking for the key--that was my mistake. I was not able to locate the key and told my salesman this via email the Monday after picking the car (they are closed on Sundays). My salesman got back to me 15 days later and said that the service department did not have the key and that if I wanted the lug nuts removed I would need to buy a matching kit online and use that key. I responded and copied the general manager that their response was not satisfactory, as they took the initiative to put the locking lug nuts on the car on their own (it was not something I requested) so if they couldn't provide me a key and it wasn't in the car at the time of delivery, they should bear the cost of buying a new set. The general manager responded to my request and recommended I check the spare tire compartment, but the key was not there either, which I told him. I was then told that two technicians had verified the key was in the car at time of delivery and that if it was misplaced and I wanted the lug nuts removed, I would need to have them broken off at my own cost. This left a bad taste in my mouth as, in my opinion, the key was never put in the car, but I let it be and resigned myself to just having to pay to have the lug nuts broken off the car. In late November, I went to a local tire shop to have snow tires put on the vehicle and warned them that I had locking lug nuts that needed to be broken off. Upon their review, the technician told me that I actually did not have any locking lug nuts on the car. I can't verify if that's true or not because I don't know what locking lug nuts look like, but either way, they were able to change the tires without incident and didn't need a key to remove the lug nuts. I fully believe the locking lug nuts were never put on the car in the first place, but again, that is just my opinion. Then, on the day after Christmas, my engine overheated and completely seized. The car had been driven less than 5,000 miles since purchase and I had had routine maintenance performed on the car a few weeks beforehand. I received no dash warnings leading up to the event and the check engine light did not come on until the moment the car stalled out at a stoplight. I had the car towed to my local Ford dealer, who inspected it and told me that there was a massive leak in the water pump, leading to a complete loss of coolant and causing the pistons to seize and the engine to overheat. The resulting damage necessitated a new engine. When I purchased the car, it came with two warranties: a dealer standard 60 day/5,000 warranty through Premiere Kia, and 6 month/6,000 mile warranty through a company called Fidelity Warranty Services. As I was outside of the dealership's 60 day window (the event happened on the 70th day of ownership), I contacted Fidelity Warranty Services. They refused to cover the repair/engine replacement, as they do not cover damage caused by over heating or incidental to a covered event. As the warranty is written in such a way as to exclude them from covering severe damage (in this case, my engine seizing) caused by the failure of a covered part (the water pump), the warranty is basically worthless. When my father and I reached out to Premiere Kia to let them know this and ask them to intercede with Fidelity Warranty Services to see if we could get any leeway (and to also suggest they use a different warranty company with less squirrely language in their warranties), we were told "they operate just like every other warranty company with requirements" and that we were out of luck. At that point, my family and I decided it wasn't a fight worth having and had the engine replaced at our own cost. I do not hold Premier Kia responsible for the engine overheating--my Ford dealer told me this is a common occurrence with this make/model of Ford and I personally don't think that Premier Kia did anything to cause the issue; I think I just had bad luck. However, I DO think that the warranty company that Premier Kia has chosen is writing warranties that leave a lot to be desired and are, in my opinion, written in bad faith. Overall, my experience with this dealership started out poorly and ended even worse. I would not recommend this dealership's used car services and, as a result of my experiences, will not be returning to them for any further car purchases, used or otherwise. read more

I ordered a passenger side door handle for my 2014 Sportage. I have smart keys so I made sure the correct part was ordered since it says two will fit my car, one with a smart key and one without. I double and triple checked to make sure I was ordering the correct part. I placed the order no problem. a few days later I get a message from them saying I had ordered the wrong part with no other information other than that my vin said this part was the correct part. They sent the part and in the confirmation the wrong part was listed. This was the part I intentionally did NOT order!! Both parts said they would fit according to my VIN, but only one had the smart key. I contacted these guys and they acted like I was an idiot, that they knew the correct part and that I should wait till I received the part to see if it was the wrong part. I received the part and sure enough, it was wrong. I have tried since to contact them, but to no avail. Now I have a part that is useless to me, that I paid for all because these guys thought they knew more than I did. Turns out they didn't. Avoid these guys if you don't want to be treated like an idiot and ripped off. There are several other Kia parts dealers on the Internet that are much more reasonable with prices and don't treat you like you are an idiot. read more

I bought my 2017 Kia Sorento SX AWD off lease at Premier Kia. Nate was my salesman and he was very pleasant and easy going. He even followed up with phone calls to make sure I was satisfied with my purchase. I have owned it for a year and a half now and I am so far very pleased with it. It rides very smoothly and is a pleasure to drive. Other than the small problems with the service department that I mention below, it has been completely trouble free in the time I've owned it. I would not hesitate to buy my next vehicle at Premier Kia. I had made an appointment a week in advance for routine service. In addition to oil change etc., I requested the factory tow package to be installed. I was assured over the phone that the parts were in stock. When I arrived on the day of my appointment, I was told that the hitch assembly could be installed, but the factory wiring harness was not in stock and was not available anywhere in the USA. This was disappointing and puzzling, however I was told that an aftermarket harness is available and assuming its proper installation, it would not void the warranty. I also wanted to have the rear driver's side speaker repaired or replaced because it was making an annoying buzzing sound at some particular frequencies. The service manager could not hear anything wrong with the speaker and blamed poor radio reception. I haven't heard the buzzing on the other speakers and I can hear that speaker's sound distortion in many different reception locations no matter which radio station and so can my passengers, but evidently the folks in the service department cannot. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's hard to believe that at age 72 I can hear better than the younger people in the service department. I think it's the speaker, but it may be the speaker mount or something inside the door, or the door itself. In any event I am now faced with fixing this problem at my own expense, or more likely I'll adjust fade and balance and live with just the front speakers. I drove away disappointed. Update: I changed my review from 4 stars to 5 stars because the service department contacted me a few days after my visit to tell me they had ordered a new speaker and to make an appointment for installation. The new speaker works fine. I no longer hear that annoying buzzing--and they washed to car too! I drove away happy and satisfied. read more

I've never experienced such poor customer service in my entire life. From the moment I arrived at the service center in Branford, the man at the main service desk acted as if my husband and I were simply an inconvenience. Getting simple questions answered was like pulling teeth. Finally after spending $100 on an oil change and three rear bulbs (seemingly reasonable w labor) we informed the man, and the sales manager who was astonishingly in support of his rude employee (which is odd bc he missed more than half the interaction) that they lost our business after having been an exclusive customer for more than 7 years, and his reply was, "Good!" Last time I purchased a car was from a dealership (that is now closed) and I felt extremely taken advantage of. I'm a single mom that works two jobs and has a hefty student loan payment. I needed a safe, reliable car that I could afford and be an investment that would last me a while. I need to make sure my child and myself get around safely, especially in the up and coming CT winters. I've been recommended KIA of Branford by a coworker a couple of years ago but like I said I've been putting it off due to past experiences. Nathan was sweet enough to forgo his lunch break and listen to my situation, my concerns with affordability, safety, what I wanted, what I needed and before I knew it we were on the road test driving cars in the lovely town of Branford. Nathan listened attentively, addressed my concerns, never pushy and led me in the direction of the right fit for my family and myself on all levels. After meeting with Nathan, picking out the best car for me, I had to leave and come back later that evening to meet with Jason to go over the scary stuff...money! Jason spent quality time working with me, going over what kind of options were available to me and in my budget. I did have a co-signer, which meant he had to spend more time with us and answering a lot of the same questions twice, which he was happy to do. (All with an 8 year old getting antsy and hopping around his office.) He was so patient, kind and most importantly, honest. I walked out of his office with a very affordable payment, lower than what I had expected and feeling at ease. That huge weight on my shoulders from fear was now lifted. I love my new car but I walked away with faith restored in (the right) car dealerships again. It was such a great experience, having that high level of customer service, the open communication, honesty and walked away relieved and grateful to have a car again on terms I'm happy and comfortable with. We just bought a pre owned certified Kia Sportage for our daughter... It was simple, fast and transparent. All Premier staff were engaged but not pushy. Their systems are very organized from being able to see which cars are available on their website to test driving the car we chose, to negotiation, to closing, and picking the car up. They were very professional and gave me a good feeling, so after agreeing on the prices I drove from NJ to CT to finish the deal and pick up the car. They lived up to everything that they had told me over the phone. I can honestly say that out of all dealerships I had bought cars from over the past 30 years they were he most professional and easy to work with that I had ever dealt with. So if you like a typical sales pitch; "we sell our cars at MSRP for Branford residents" but then try to tell you options (security package=vin number window etching and nitrogen in the tires) are not optional, and you must pay them $398 for something you don't need and I certainly didn't want, then this is the dealer for you.I put a 3K deposit on a car that was in transit. They gave me a sheet titled "payment options" (which the business manager later tried to tell me was a contract, lol) listing sales price, security package, tax, doc fees etc. I had to sign it but they didn't. At that time I said I may have a trade in and I may finance with them but did not commit to either. When the car arrived I decided to go with my CU financing and had found a private buyer for my car for 2K more than KBB trade in value. They were not pleased b/c they wanted me to finance thru them and pay for the window etching. I refused and their GM decided to back out of the deal. Our economy sucks, businesses are trying to make money and buys are trying to hang on to money which means you are diametrically opposed to a dealer when buying a car. I prefer a dealer that says I'll sell you the car for 2K above MSRP and you can do what you want with financing and trade in and options are actually optional. They're being transparent about their need to make money and the don't play games like trying to tell you optional packages are not optional. So if you don't care about transparency and honesty then you'll like Premier Kia. read more

Cannot say enough wonderful things about this place and it's staff. I had a very difficult time dealing with my warranty company and they spent hours on the phone calling back and forth between myself and the company for a total of three weeks. Their commitment and dedication to getting my car fixed and properly covered by the warranty was commendable and I am forever grateful.
