I booked using their excellent value £29 a night for two nights offer as I was spending the weekend in Glasgow at Celtic Connections. After a rather convoluted check-in process I was relived to find that the room I'd booked - a twin - was pleasant enough and although it was only on the 5th floor and not facing west (which would have been a great view of the university, Mitchell Library, etc.), the view was interesting enough looking out over the buildings of Glasgow city centre. Being in the corner, the room was a triangular shape and the bathroom was a little cramped, but it was fine. On the second night I was rather cold, but fortunately my friend had gone home and I was able to sleep with two duvets on!
I had breakfast in the restaurant on both days. In this Premier Inn the breakfast is entirely a buffet with a fixed price of £7.95, but it was pleasant enough and the staff were attentive and cheerful.
Overall, a good place to stay if you're visiting Glasgow for a concert or show at the Kings theatre (literally 2 minutes walk away), and not as noisy as I'd feared (the windows are very well insulated, given that it's right next to the motorway). read more
