The manager was SOOOO apologetic and cleaned our place right away and left us a little gift. I wish I'd remembered her name because she was so sweet. Pro: the continental breakfast was really good and continued my daily full Irish/ulster breakfast. Con: there's some work being done outside and our view from the window was awful. Just a ton of garbage. I know they're working but they'd be good to clean what they could because there was just a bunch of trash to look at.

Today, Dobbin's is a hotel, and has a popular bar and restaurant which is hugely popular with both locals and visitors to the town. The interior is decorated throughout keeping in mind the age and history of the building, and provides a comfortable and homely environment. Opening each morning from 9am, there is a fantastic range of foods available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, using fresh locally sourced produce, the menu changes regularly and is absolutely delicious. I particularly recommend their cooked breakfasts! At night, the bar is a lively spot for a few drinks, and they host various live music, karaoke and quiz nights. The staff are very friendly and the owners take a keen interest in the running of the establishment and are always available to give you any local information if needed.

Not really the best nights sleep I have ever had. The room itself was fine, nothing fantastic to write home about but had the main features we all look for, including a nice tea station. The staff however are lovely and friendly, which is always great. Overall i think you get what you pay for here.

Had the foresight to book dinner reservations given there is not much around there. The dinner dishes were a bit bland. Odd that they did not have the Red Malt Vinegar. We had our tour finale dinner there, which was ordered off a pre-set menu, and it was very good. The next morning, we had a traditional Irish Breakfast buffet, and it was one of the better ones we had during our 13 days in Ireland. Service was also very good for both dinner and breakfast. Not sure what restaurants are around in Ballygally, but eating at the hotel turned out to be a convenient and good option.

By the time we had arrived at Cairnryan Port Scotland it was very dark, but we decided to start driving the 200 mile trek from Cairnryan Port on the A77 roadway to Lochness Lake located approx (200) miles away. Being so very tired, and struggling to drive any further, we began looking for places to rest on the long dark roads around Ballantrae, this is when we stumbled upon the King Arms Hotel. The King Arms staff booked us in late without any trouble, were very polite and offered us a late night dinner and drinks. We ended up playing pool in the pub area, having drinks, and speaking to the locals in the pub about the history of the area. In the morning, in the dining room area, they had a very nice breakfast prepared for us to sustain us on our journey, the atmosphere was amazingly family like. It was a very unexpected and pleasant stop on our journey into Scotland! If you walk to the west of the main parking lot, there is a small trail which will lead you through a large grassy soccer field, this trail will take you to the shore of Ballantrae Bay, the trail is approximately 700 feet in length. The view in the morning hours was amazing!!!!! Definitely Recommend!

The location is beautiful right across from Bangor Marina with parking on street in front or a small carpark behind the hotel. The breakfast is delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful and their is always someone there to help if you need anything at all. The bar and club that are attached are both very good. Apparently there was a wedding that no one bothered to tell me about when making reservations. Obnoxiously loud music played well past midnight making sleep essentially impossible. I tossed and turned on the lumpy mattress wishing that I didn't have to hear "Country Roads" played so badly that John Denver was turning in his grave. Although there was no bath mat of any kind for the slippery shower room floor, there was a little black curly hair waiting to greet me in the tub, and the tile looked like it needed a thorough deep clean. There were no outlets anywhere near the bed making it difficult to charge my phone. To finish things off, the door did not meet the threshold and the resulting gap let in light and the sounds of drunken guests wandering the hallway. All in all, it was a complete letdown.

Thoroughly impressed with our visit to the Curran Court…read more I'll be honest, I'm not exactly a regular in Larne. When I was a child we used to eat in the Curran Court a fair but, and it was my understanding it was closed. I didn't realise until recently that it had reopened in a new location, and I heard quite a number of good reports, so thought I'd give it a go. We went along for Sunday dinner as a group of four adults. The expectations that I had due to what I'd been told and had read online were certainly met and exceeded. The have a fantastic menu that gives lots of choice and something for everyone, without giving you that sinking feeling of being handed a massive menu and thinking that they may be a jack of all trades and a master of none. As it was a Sunday, we all opted for a traditional dinner, there were 2 x beef, 1 x chicken, and i had the salmon, and with this we got all the usual trimmings and fixings. The orders were taken on tablet devices (very futuristic for Larne!!) :) and the food arrived quickly and evetything was present and correct. The food itself was delicious and very fairly priced for what we had, suffice to say there was no room for pudding, although the sweet list looked very tempting. Definitely next time! Well recommended.
